Shibani is Momotaros uncle. Shibani is momotaros fathers, brother. Genkis first "husband" was momtaros OTHER uncle, as well. Gorillas are so rare, usually if one region has several zoos they will sureley be relation.

Momotaro "shaking." I have seen Momo do this 2x before. He has also done it as a mating gesture, and it definitely got wife 💕 Genki's attention 😄. I've read many comments. Momotaro is not sick, he's definitely not having a seizure, and no he's not possessed. This gesturing does seem to be unique to Momotaro, as he does it at very specific times. Momotaro is responding directly to son Gentaro. Gentaro is challenging his dad Momotaro. It's normal behavior for a male in puberty. Momotaro has to stand his ground as silverback, as Gentaro is once again pushing the limits and testing the waters by straight up "in your face" antagonizing his dad, as usual. Gentaro will be 11-years-old in December. He is already, or is very close to reaching sexual maturity. As opposed to beating the daylights outta Gentaro, dad Momotaro responds with a stern warning to his son. When Momotaro does his unique gesture of shaking he is "deep grumble hooting" bobbing his head up and down, and vigorously shaking his legs/body. In other words, "I'm big, large and in charge boy!" This is like a body builder flexing his muscles 💪 and is a form of intimidation. Here 12:00 Momo is standing directly in front of son Gentaro looking directly at him while deep grumble hooting, saying, "Do you see how big and strong I am? I'm in charge, not you!" After this Gentaro runs 👉 that way 😆 and Momotaro immediately "returns to normal." If I were Gentaro, I'd definitely be shaking in my boots if I turned around and saw Momotaro gesturing at me like this 😂.
@@mull529 Yes eventually Gentaro will be separated in about a year or two. Gentaro (if this troop lived in the wild) possibly may have left the troop and set out to find a mate already. But captive born gorillas behave a bit differently from gorillas born in the wild. Gentaro was hand raised until 10 months, so he is still very much attached to his mom Genki and dad Momotaro. Gentaro's behavior is very normal for a male gorilla around this age. He is "displaying", or as my grandma used to say "cutting up and acting out." 😆 The plan is to put Gentaro in the zoo's breeding program. He's getting bigger and growing fast now. By year's end I suspect he will start to silver on his back. It may get tense, but I don't think Momotaro and Gentaro will fight. Momo is rather easy going BUT will put Gentaro in his place and give him a good scolding when dad has had enough of the naughtiness. Mom Genki sometimes will come and rescue her son 🤣. Besides there's only room for one silverback in that tiny enclosure. Blessings! 😃
That is the 2nd time I've seen Momotoro shaking, like he's having a seizure or a heart attack. I think I've watched every single video ever made of the Momo family and this looks like new behavior. I hope Momo is OK and nothing serious is going on. What a devastating blow it would be to the whole family if any one of them were to suddenly become ill.....and God forbid, not survive. Poor Momo! He's not angry and Gentaro did not provoke him. The poor fellow is having a seizure! If Gentaro had made him angry, Momo would have gone after him. That's not what happened here. Momo was experiencing a small seizure. This causes me concern. Suppose he'd been up on the beams or swinging up top when this hit. He could have fallen with tragic consequences. I hope the keepers have been made aware of this incident.
I felt instantly the same. This is a serious healthy issue. Poor Momotaro... And poor family if they loose their father and husband in this way. The title is totally wrong choosen.
Please is Momo having a seizure? I replied to the video that Momo had a runny nose and I'm concerned about what I saw. I ask only that the zoo administration or health care officials inform us what their expertise is to ease our minds. Thank you🙏❤
Wow Gentaro doesnt realize how lucky he was. Momotaro can rip his head off in one swipe. I felt bad watching him shake that way. He held back and it took everything he had to do it. Cheers Momo! Gentaro is feeling himself and better watch out before Momotaro rejects him

Then when she felt he was old enough to walk around, Gentaro kept taking & dragging him causing Kintaro's head to bang on the ground. I do agreed he is not a bad gorilla. He loves his brother and just wanted to play with the new "toy" not knowing his strength was too much for the little guy. His father taught him to be gentle with the baby. Genki loves Gentaro and always defends him regarding Momotaro. I do agree Genki could do a better job but now she's apprehensive because of his behavior. He loves his mother and wants her attention which is why he does it. He would treat her better if she gave him attention. It's sad because he's sweet & seems lonely sometimes, and those eyes & face like his mom just melts my heart...don't let him start sucking his finger...I'm mush...lol Enjoy your Holiday Season Steve!! I think there's something wrong with Momo. I've never seen another Gorilla shake like that out of anger. They'll pound their chest and/or the ground, and can be vocal, but to shake like that is not normal. I hope they got him checked by a Wildlife Vet.

You all are overreacting. He's fine! He does this (hip thrust s) when he wants to initiate mating with Genki. It's a Momotaro thing, he's done this ever since meeting Genki. Genki hasn't seem to want to mate lately for some reason, pregnant? Momotaro is frustrated.

Nope that's not it. Momo is furious with Gentaro. He kept acting like he was going to hit Momo in the face. Momo was trying to not knock the h... out of Gentaro. Momo was letting him know "you don't want to go toe to toe with me boy"!
I agree, I think there's something going on. just because he's done it before, doesn't make it normal. When Gorilla's are furious, they pound their chest and/or the ground, and show teeth.
@@lbar9720 Yes that may be true, but remember Gentaro is his son not an outsider. He loves his family. He is disciplining him. He showed his teeth and gestured that he would bite Gentaro if he did it again and Gentaro did not do it again. He stared at his dad then walked away. Even with humans, being furious with a stranger/outsider is a different type of furious than with your own, especially young, children. Gentaro is not an adult gorilla.
@@laurahall4210 Gentaro is not Momo's son, Momos Dad was Gentaro's Dad. Gentaro and Momo are actually half brothers. Momo is barely an adult Gorilla and I feel for him to have to take on such a big family, but he's doing what he can.
@@lbar9720 That is not true go back and view the videos. Momo is Gentaro's dad. Momo 's father died when he was a baby, he never really knew his father. Momo was born at a different zoo. Genki had no children when Momo arrived at her zoo. They tried to breed her with no luck until Momo arrived. Yes he was young around 10-11 yrs old and Genki taught him how to "do the wild thing". It is all captured on video. When Gentaro was born Genki 's milk was low and Gentaro was fed and cared for by humans until he was around 9 months old. All of this is on video they even showed how the keeper wore hairy type clothing to simulate for Gentaro how he will hold on to his mother when he is reunited. Genki could only see and touch him via the same cage you see the zookeepers behind with those bars. When it was time Gentaro was gradually reunited with his parents Momo and Genki. They started with Genki first, then Momo. This entire story is capture and told via the videos.
i know it looked like a seizure but i think that was a serious warning from momo to gentaro. he's at the age of starting to test his status in the troop. he has been testing genki for awhile and now he is starting to test momo, something he really doesn't want. with momo's weight if it was a seizure i believe he would have sat down. also he stopped drumming his body after gentaro took off. kintaro didn't want anyone fighting so he felt the need to step in like he does with genki and gentaro. gentaro is taunting his parents, he is living dangerously...lol...gentaro will be getting his dome and probably soon, and when he does they will need to move him. their home is not big enough for two silverbacks. momo (a gentle giant) needs to put his foot down more than he does or he may just explode on gentaro.
He doesnt look like he is furious he looks like he is having a seizure! The boys seemed concerned and looked like they were trying to get their dad focused so they could make sure he was ok. I hope the zoo vets see this video and do a check up on him.

I know nothing abou gorillas at all, except I thank there amazing animals. But that shaken in dad does not look good. Can a vet at least check him out, there's alot of viewers that are concerned also about dad. It can't hurt to check it out. A concerned viewer.

Is it possible that Momo was having a petite mal (small) seizure ? I am a nurse and think that might be what was happening. The boys saw it start and were reacting to it
Joe, that was my first thought as well, though it didn't last long at all, and he was able to move pretty quickly afterwards. Aren't people dazed for a little while after the tremors stop?

It's an healthy issue. That's for sure. And nothing to do with Gentaro. Gentaro and Kintaro were somewhere shocked and only tried to help their father. OMG...
That looks more like a seizure to me than getting angry. If this was actually anger, it doesn't seem like the other two gorillas would be putting their hands near his face, as in other videos I have seen of silverbacks being obviously angry all the other gorillas keep their distance.
He was s not showing dominance he's in puberty and has a hard on...hello he's done this a few times to gentaro...he don't even react to genki like that..lol

Возглавляет каждую такую группу взрослый самец с серебряным отливом на спине... И у такого самца там несколько самок..... По 3-4, а может и все 8-10..... А посему самцу постоянно приходится спариваться..... Исходя из этого, в группах постоянно полно малышни, впрочем как и 3-4-5-6-летних детенышей Ну а что мы наблюдаем здесь??? Когда эту пару свели, где-то 11 лет назад, Мамотарро фактически ещё был подростком, каким сейчас является Гентарро..... Потому как сейчас ему 22-23 года, а Гентарро уже 10.... Надо приплюсовать ещё почти человеческий период беременности, у горилл он длится 8,5 месяцев..... И получается, что в момент зачатия Гентарро Мамотарро было 11-12 лет..... Другое дело самка, Генки.. Ей сейчас 35-36 лет и это солидный возраст для гориллы!!! И во время зачатия Гентарро и во время зачатия Кинтарро, Мамотарро был более чем активен!!!!😜 Он спаривался с Генки очень активно..... Теперь же, Генки часто пытается подлечь под него, Мамотарро вроде бы собирается, но даже не начинает половой акт.... На мой взгляд, Генки уже откровенно стара и у неё конкретно нарушена выработка гормонов.... А животных заставляет спариваться именно это.... Вот Мамотарро и не видит смысла спариваться!!!🥶 Но параллельно, он то и дело имитирует половой акт с Гентарро, а разочек я даже видел, как он имитировал акт с Кинтарро🥶 Видимо, Генки он уже исключил и не видит в ней партнера, из-за старости.... Но в то же время, инстинкты побуждают его спариваться...... Ведь в природе самец практически ежедневно спартвается с одной из своих самок.... А эта имитация спаривания с сыновьями, это кроме этакого самоуспокоения, является ещё и ритуалом доминации самца!!! Генки удивительно чуткая и заботливая мать, на редкость хороша в этом смысле!!! Но вспомните, ещё при рождении Гентарро, когда она была в своей первой молодости, ей тогда было лет 25, у неё был нарушен процесс лактации и материнское молоко она если и вырабатывала, то исключительно фиктивно🤪 Гентарро смотрители вообще забрали у неё и выкормили аж до годовалого возраста, а потом и дальше продолжали подкармливать формулой.... Имея горький опыт с Гентарро, родив Кинтарро, Генки вообще не выпускала его из рук, что бы смотрители опять не забрали малыша!!! Но молока у неё как и не было при Гентарро, так и при рождении Кинтарро не появилось.... И малыша опять подкармливали смотрители, только уже через клетку.... Она подносила малыша к клетке и давала возможность смотрителям кормить кроху смесью из бутылочки 😜 Зрелище было просто удивительное и умилительное!!!❤️ Эти кадры есть здесь, на Ютубе.... В о общем, подводя итог, скажу, что уже тогда у Генки было не все в порядке, а сейчас Мамотарро просто не чувствует запаха овуляции и не спаривается с ней!!!! Думаю, эта семья уже настоящий бренд, однако стоит наверное их развести и свести с другими🥶 И пожалуйста не спешите возмущённо возражать!!! Вот смотрите.... Гентарро пора уже сводить с молодой самочкой, ведь так???? Мамотарро определённо необходимо свести хотя бы с одной молодой самкой!!! С абсолютно здоровой репродуктивной функцией!!! Ну а Генки с Кинтарро не стоит разлучать, по крайней мере несколько последующих лет..... Ибо гориллы, как и Шимпанзе, ухаживают за детенышами до 7-8-летнего возраста.... Кинтарро сейчас 3, только пошёл 4-й.... И он страшно сильно привязан к маме, разлука с ней серьёзнейшим образом травмирует его психику навсегда!!!!😱 шоком безусловно будет и исчезновение Мамотарро с гентарро, достаточно вспомнить как именно у этих двоих развилась какая-то не очень опасная кожная болезнь и они практически перестали есть,,,,, Тогда перестал есть и Кинтарро!!!! И он обессиленный постоянно находился в лежачем положении на полу!!!! Но Кинтарро привыкнет и смириться в конце концов..... А вот половое влечение и один из основных инстинктов Гентарро никуда не денется!!! Гентарро в таком возрасте, что это будет нарастать буквально с каждым днём!!! Таки же Мамотарро.... 23-летнему красавцу самцу необходима молодая партнерша, а лучше две или три!!!🤣 В общем, логика мне подсказывает именно то, что я описал выше.... Возможно я ошибаюсь??? Everyone daying Momotaro is sick. He is NOT sick. The vidy shaking is a warning to Gentaro, a form of intimidation AND again like Sonya said id a unique gesture that Momotaro does to Gentaro. There are live chats about the Momotaro family, and youvcan ask any questions then if you're not sure about something.
If it were a seizure he would have lost control of his limbs, paddling the air, unable to stand. That was more like a cortisol overload, the stress of not kicking his teenage kid's butt into next year, for challenging his authority.
There is not 1 standar for seizure.. It could have been a mild one.. It rises in intensity, then it passes quick when at it's worst.. Seems like a condition

Momo had a seizure my mom gets like that . It might had been a seizure of anger or stress . Through the situation with Gentaro ...Momo looked also like having a heart attack. I hope the vets check him.
Does not someone at the zoo that's taking care of the gorillas see what's going on with the dad gorilla the people that are watching these videos on TH-cam should not be the ones to tell the the keepers of the gorillas that there is something wrong they should be the first ones to know the people that work with the gorillas and take care of them should be the first to know that something is wrong I pray that you will have them checked out and see if there's anything seriously wrong with him thanks

Poor Momo! He's not angry and Gentaro did not provoke him. The poor fellow is having a seizure! If Gentaro had made him angry, Momo would have gone after him. That's not what happened here. Momo was experiencing a small seizure. This causes me concern. Suppose he'd been up on the beams or swinging up top when this hit. He could have fallen with tragic consequences. I hope the keepers have been made aware of this incident.
I felt instantly the same. This is a serious healthy issue. Poor Momotaro... And poor family if they loose their father and husband in this way. The title is totally wrong choosen.

Then when she felt he was old enough to walk around, Gentaro kept taking & dragging him causing Kintaro's head to bang on the ground. I do agreed he is not a bad gorilla. He loves his brother and just wanted to play with the new "toy" not knowing his strength was too much for the little guy. His father taught him to be gentle with the baby. Genki loves Gentaro and always defends him regarding Momotaro. I do agree Genki could do a better job but now she's apprehensive because of his behavior. He loves his mother and wants her attention which is why he does it. He would treat her better if she gave him attention. I think there's something wrong with Momo. I've never seen another Gorilla shake like that out of anger. They'll pound their chest and/or the ground, and can be vocal, but to shake like that is not normal. I hope they got him checked by a Wildlife Vet.

Nope that's not it. Momo is furious with Gentaro. He kept acting like he was going to hit Momo in the face. Momo was trying to not knock the h... out of Gentaro. Momo was letting him know "you don't want to go toe to toe with me boy"!
I agree, I think there's something going on. just because he's done it before, doesn't make it normal. When Gorilla's are furious, they pound their chest and/or the ground, and show teeth.
@@lbar9720 Yes that may be true, but remember Gentaro is his son not an outsider. He loves his family. He is disciplining him. He showed his teeth and gestured that he would bite Gentaro if he did it again and Gentaro did not do it again. He stared at his dad then walked away. Even with humans, being furious with a stranger/outsider is a different type of furious than with your own, especially young, children. Gentaro is not an adult gorilla.
@@laurahall4210 Gentaro is not Momo's son, Momos Dad was Gentaro's Dad. Gentaro and Momo are actually half brothers. Momo is barely an adult Gorilla and I feel for him to have to take on such a big family, but he's doing what he can.
@@lbar9720 That is not true go back and view the videos. Momo is Gentaro's dad. Momo 's father died when he was a baby, he never really knew his father. Momo was born at a different zoo. Genki had no children when Momo arrived at her zoo. They tried to breed her with no luck until Momo arrived. Yes he was young around 10-11 yrs old and Genki taught him how to "do the wild thing". It is all captured on video. When Gentaro was born Genki 's milk was low and Gentaro was fed and cared for by humans until he was around 9 months old. All of this is on video they even showed how the keeper wore hairy type clothing to simulate for Gentaro how he will hold on to his mother when he is reunited. Genki could only see and touch him via the same cage you see the zookeepers behind with those bars. When it was time Gentaro was gradually reunited with his parents Momo and Genki. They started with Genki first, then Momo. This entire story is capture and told via the videos.
Kintaro seems like he is thinking all the time ,what a incredible little guy ❤️
i know it looked like a seizure but i think that was a serious warning from momo to gentaro. he's at the age of starting to test his status in the troop. he has been testing genki for awhile and now he is starting to test momo, something he really doesn't want. with momo's weight if it was a seizure i believe he would have sat down. also he stopped drumming his body after gentaro took off. kintaro didn't want anyone fighting so he felt the need to step in like he does with genki and gentaro. gentaro is taunting his parents, he is living dangerously...lol...gentaro will be getting his dome and probably soon, and when he does they will need to move him. their home is not big enough for two silverbacks. momo (a gentle giant) needs to put his foot down more than he does or he may just explode on gentaro.
I think it's time we find an enclosure for Gentaro and Annie :)
He wasn’t angry, it’s what he does when he wants to mate. There was a previous video some years back of him doing the same movements towards Genki

He doesnt look like he is furious he looks like he is having a seizure! The boys seemed concerned and looked like they were trying to get their dad focused so they could make sure he was ok. I hope the zoo vets see this video and do a check up on him.

That looks more like a seizure to me than getting angry. If this was actually anger, it doesn't seem like the other two gorillas would be putting their hands near his face, as in other videos I have seen of silverbacks being obviously angry all the other gorillas keep their distance.

Отношения в семье явно нарушены.... Если быть более точными, гориллы далеко не моногамны и живут они отнюдь не семьями, а этакими комуннами, группами..... Возглавляет каждую такую группу взрослый самец с серебряным отливом на спине... И у такого самца там несколько самок..... По 3-4, а может и все 8-10..... А посему самцу постоянно приходится спариваться..... Исходя из этого, в группах постоянно полно малышни, впрочем как и 3-4-5-6-летних детенышей Ну а что мы наблюдаем здесь??? Когда эту пару свели, где-то 11 лет назад, Мамотарро фактически ещё был подростком, каким сейчас является Гентарро..... Потому как сейчас ему 22-23 года, а Гентарро уже 10.... Надо приплюсовать ещё почти человеческий период беременности, у горилл он длится 8,5 месяцев..... И получается, что в момент зачатия Гентарро Мамотарро было 11-12 лет..... Другое дело самка, Генки.. Ей сейчас 35-36 лет и это солидный возраст для гориллы!!! И во время зачатия Гентарро и во время зачатия Кинтарро, Мамотарро был более чем активен!!!!😜 Он спаривался с Генки очень активно..... Теперь же, Генки часто пытается подлечь под него, Мамотарро вроде бы собирается, но даже не начинает половой акт.... На мой взгляд, Генки уже откровенно стара и у неё конкретно нарушена выработка гормонов.... А животных заставляет спариваться именно это.... Вот Мамотарро и не видит смысла спариваться!!!🥶 Но параллельно, он то и дело имитирует половой акт с Гентарро, а разочек я даже видел, как он имитировал акт с Кинтарро🥶 Видимо, Генки он уже исключил и не видит в ней партнера, из-за старости.... Но в то же время, инстинкты побуждают его спариваться...... Ведь в природе самец практически ежедневно спартвается с одной из своих самок.... А эта имитация спаривания с сыновьями, это кроме этакого самоуспокоения, является ещё и ритуалом доминации самца!!! Генки удивительно чуткая и заботливая мать, на редкость хороша в этом смысле!!! Но вспомните, ещё при рождении Гентарро, когда она была в своей первой молодости, ей тогда было лет 25, у неё был нарушен процесс лактации и материнское молоко она если и вырабатывала, то исключительно фиктивно🤪 Гентарро смотрители вообще забрали у неё и выкормили аж до годовалого возраста, а потом и дальше продолжали подкармливать формулой.... Имея горький опыт с Гентарро, родив Кинтарро, Генки вообще не выпускала его из рук, что бы смотрители опять не забрали малыша!!! Но молока у неё как и не было при Гентарро, так и при рождении Кинтарро не появилось.... И малыша опять подкармливали смотрители, только уже через клетку.... Она подносила малыша к клетке и давала возможность смотрителям кормить кроху смесью из бутылочки 😜 Зрелище было просто удивительное и умилительное!!!❤️ Эти кадры есть здесь, на Ютубе.... В о общем, подводя итог, скажу, что уже тогда у Генки было не все в порядке, а сейчас Мамотарро просто не чувствует запаха овуляции и не спаривается с ней!!!! Думаю, эта семья уже настоящий бренд, однако стоит наверное их развести и свести с другими🥶 И пожалуйста не спешите возмущённо возражать!!! Вот смотрите.... Гентарро пора уже сводить с молодой самочкой, ведь так???? Мамотарро определённо необходимо свести хотя бы с одной молодой самкой!!! С абсолютно здоровой репродуктивной функцией!!! Ну а Генки с Кинтарро не стоит разлучать, по крайней мере несколько последующих лет..... Ибо гориллы, как и Шимпанзе, ухаживают за детенышами до 7-8-летнего возраста.... Кинтарро сейчас 3, только пошёл 4-й.... И он страшно сильно привязан к маме, разлука с ней серьёзнейшим образом травмирует его психику навсегда!!!!😱 шоком безусловно будет и исчезновение Мамотарро с гентарро, достаточно вспомнить как именно у этих двоих развилась какая-то не очень опасная кожная болезнь и они практически перестали есть,,,,, Тогда перестал есть и Кинтарро!!!! И он обессиленный постоянно находился в лежачем положении на полу!!!! Но Кинтарро привыкнет и смириться в конце концов..... А вот половое влечение и один из основных инстинктов Гентарро никуда не денется!!! Гентарро в таком возрасте, что это будет нарастать буквально с каждым днём!!! Таки же Мамотарро.... 23-летнему красавцу самцу необходима молодая партнерша, а лучше две или три!!!🤣 В общем, логика мне подсказывает именно то, что я описал выше.... Возможно я ошибаюсь??? Но, не думаю.... Ибо исходить необходимо от неизбежного..... От необходимости самок и для Гентарро и для Мамотарро!!! Вот как-то так....Спасибо за внимание!!! Быть добру!!!!🙏❤️

Everyone daying Momotaro is sick. He is NOT sick. The vidy shaking is a warning to Gentaro, a form of intimidation AND again like Sonya said id a unique gesture that Momotaro does to Gentaro. There are live chats about the Momotaro family, and youvcan ask any questions then if you're not sure about something.
If it were a seizure he would have lost control of his limbs, paddling the air, unable to stand. That was more like a cortisol overload, the stress of not kicking his teenage kid's butt into next year, for challenging his authority.
There is not 1 standar for seizure.. It could have been a mild one.. It rises in intensity, then it passes quick when at it's worst.. Seems like a condition
