Well heli crashes are actually more survivable than a car crash, Well this type is as yes you should declare emergency but if a heli loses an engine the other one puts you into a controlled decent which allows the pilot to pick a safe area to land, if it was a tandem rotor heli on the other hand then same thing how ever if it was a transmission which went on a tandem its a 100% chance of death as you will not survive the helicopter ripping its self apart, and if you say but both engines died then that heli would of dropped like a stone. My engineering teacher who is ex RAF called helicopters flying time bombs as they are a airframe built around a big piece of rotating mass.
Yes indeed. He is the real hero, if he didn't keep his calm and lost his focus as u meant and crashed, there would not have been any rescue ops, it would have been recovering the bodies instead.
Just a quick note: Helicopters can autorotate, as long as its in the air, it can turn its propellers without an engine while descending. A crash like this will never happen unless you're hit by a missile, so folks, no need to worry about a helicopter crash
Totally agree with you on the fact of how helicopters work in a situation like this. I know the scene is a bit exaggerating, but can you imagine this scene with a smooth landing rather the harsh one. It wouldn't be interesting that much.
Well here it looked a bit as if the transmission failed and the pilot attempted to carry out autorotative landing power off to avoid the torque he might not have been able to counteract if the tail rotor shaft somehow got damaged. Transmission is the single point of failure all helicopters have. Something similar to what happened with that one S-92 that suffered a catastrophic transmission oil leak due to the oil filter falling off in flight. My knowledge on rotorcraft is from books and flight simulator games so I might have screwed something up here. Transmission failures are extremely rare, even though usually fatal.
Nops, its difficult to notice it, but he is walking with them, he is blurred in the. background, go to 5.03 to 5.05, you will see him.Well in this moment of the episode, they focus more on the boy on the stretcher and the doctors personal discussion and the awkwardness among them. The pilot did in fact need some more airtime as he is the one who save them all, or else there would have been no rescue ops.
This why we say partners/lovers are not meant to work with each other in the same place or same department. This show in general actually gives very good definition of Unethical behaviors at work (love & being in relationship) what it leeds to, the consequences of such behaviors & actions, and what is being unprofessional can make professionals completely dumb!!! Good education actually!!! 👏👏👏👏👏
This pilot is obviously not very good, as helicopters have a very useful natural safety measure called autorotation in which the rotors will spin normally in a fall due to physics, which can be exploited to make a soft landing.
Yeah, in reality that is true, but DRAMA sells rating and having them fall out of the sky was more dramatic. Besides in the clip it locked like there was an explosion so the rotor could have been locked or jammed by the damage and caused them to fall out of the sky
@@hayley339 doesn't matter, unless the actual axle breaks, it will still hover down to the ground. This is a mechanic known as autorotation, and works purely by the movement of air through the rotor, no engine needed.
@@theteutonking3306 Emergency autorotation landings are very rarely smooth and almost always result in damage. That landing is actually more realistic than you think.
NOOOOOOO you absolutely do NOT relocate a shoulder outside. If you are able to get to a hospital within a few hours you leave it there!!!!! (The muscles are tensed up, often you need to either get sedated or locally numbed....otherwise you could do much more harm than good.) Source: lecture in med school. By doctor teaching anatomy. (Someone dislocated his shoulder, on a conference trip with doctors...they left it and got him to a hospital where he got surgery to relocate it without damage)
Actually also the pacient is going to need an x ray to discard any fracture. Or at least is what the doctors did with me, they did not used any kind of pain killers or something, they just took the xray and then pop it back in. I will love to be sedated before xD
This why being in a relationship at work is not ethical. It comes with no proper judgment, stubborn and not listening to orders/instructions be given, always wanna be the hero of the partner, putting safety advice aside risking Screwing more of the situation, like for e.g in the episode, he want to go down first before the fire fighters clear the scene and deem it safe to proceed and funny they let the doctor go down first and ofc lastly facing breakup thus having the doctors not able to stand each other, awkward moments, disagreements, arguments, acting like children, lost of professionalism leading to not being able to provide necessary care as needed. This series and its episode is actually good to educate people of how unethical behaviors and actions can lead to lots of issues, meaning of being professional and to keep your personal stuff at home before coming to work and specially why doctors should not be attached and have feelings for their patients. I dont mean being cold or rude to patients, but to know how to play the role and understanding the results of your actions can actually lead to not being able to provide the necessary care to patients which may and have lead to death.
@@ethanch3011 yes but completely avoidable as it was a engine failure in a twin engine rotatary wing aircraft meaning the pilot if he actually trained for this which I believe your ment to should never of lost control as you can successfully land a helicopter with one engine as it should go into a controlled decent, however a transmission is a different story as it will either cause the aircraft to fall out of the sky or rip its self apart within a micro second (only if its a tandem rotor helicopter, like the chinhook)

This is a fantastic series!!!
Haha! That was the EASIEST shoulder reduction… 😂

god that is the most exaggerated crash I've ever seen, almost as hysterical as manning herself

LITERALLY I DONT LIKE HER CHARACTER
Right? Engine was out but rotors were fine and they wound up in a perfectly flat quarry bottom, auto rotation should have been an easy smooth landing
@SeagodWolf omg it's literally a series it's not real chill out
How many times has manning been the victim now? A lot more than everyone else for sure
