Still listening to this. It brings back so many memories of highschool. I think I must have been a sophomore when it came out because I graduated in '02. I remember this was on the greatest hits disc that I had and my best friend and I would share it between our cars, that was like 06-ish. Never get sick of AFI. I had a tshirt that was so comfortable, I always wore it when I was sick or down, I still have it, refuse to throw it away, although it's beyond wearable now. Good memories, it's great how music does that. 💕💕
if you have a fire inside then you will be able to follow them fully. if not then it is not for you. just follow music that is best for you. if you are connected to hardcore punk then thats your choice. over 13 years iv followed afi and been in a journey with them, album by album, constantly changing. even davey and jade.. blaqk audio.. genious. plz just be yourself. what is life if everybody liked the same things?! we are all unique. : )
I just have been getting into these guys and I gotta say all their stuff sounds really good :) their beats in all their songs kick major ass and all their intros are amazing
I remember they use to play this at my little brother's school during lunch in 5th grade. Of course none of the kids knew who this was but all the same they loved it xD
AFI SOLD OUT!!!! like 10 years ago... Tear... Its, ... Just ,... that they, Wah Wah,... were MY favorite BAND! Seriously I was like 12 years old on a Passenger bus and was listening to AFI - proud of ya Album with Awnser that for the FIRST TIME!! and it was like a gift from GOD. Every note, every strum that came after each other were exactly what I wanted to hear next(ORGASMIC). They are an amazing band. I just don't listen to there new stuff though.
That's how it started with me I heard Love Like Winter then I went and looked up the vid for it and then I started looking up more and more stuff now I'm obsessed with them.
Hello Mr. internet troll . I have listened to the entire AFI discograpfy, covers, ep's etc. I am well aware that they started as a punk band largely influenced by the Misfits as sound and image. As DaveyHavoc says AFI pround themselves to change their sound through every album and I like their old and new material. I personally like DeceUnd best because my favourite songs are on it- Summer shudder , Love like winter etc. and I think Daveys brilliant , deep lyrics fit a non punk band best
...I found one song by this band...and now...its like im in some sort of trance where i hear one song and am forced to continually look up more and more and more by them!!! THEY"RE GONNA TAKE OVER MY MP3!!! XD ...they can have it!
@tricia0qwynne I've only known AFI for about 3/4s of a year now; when I first heard them, I did the exact same thing, though: I sat down and listened to Miss Murder for about three hours nonstop, then I found Girl's Not Grey and changed to that one, then I found Highschool Football Hero, jumped out of my skin, and fled back to the easier stuff. But since then, I've developed a love for their older stuff. *huggles*
@xJustACarCrashAwayx You have a very good point there. But there's usually always a conflict happening when a band plays the same style and sound for several albums, gains numerous fans, then turns around and plays something totally different. The older fans will obviously be disappointed because its not the sound they expected, or wanted. So I can sympathize with the older fans. Their fave band did not give them a sound they wanted. And who cares if they're emo or not? Music is what counts.
I love this band. Decemberunderground was their worst work but they made up for it with Crash Love. I still think Art of Drowning was their best, though. Black Sails and Sing The Sorrow are both close seconds to me.
I like ATASF, and SYMAOYE. but Black sails was their true achievement. It's triumphs echo in "The Art of Drowning." Sing The Sorrow is a really good album and December Underground is a nice follow up. I never got into Crash Love, although Torch Song is okay.
You got some reasoning to back that up? Didn't think so.Originally they were a kick-ass hardcore band that adopted "dark romantic/goth" elements over time, particularly after Jade Puget replaced the original guitarist. Decemberunderground was their "pop bullshit" album, which they made up for with Crash Love, a more "guitarist" oriented "general rock" album. I'm assuming you first heard about AFI when Miss Murder came out, right? *laughing at you*
Ummm to what lyrics are you referring to when you say that you think they may have given into their demons and not be straightedge. Their music has changed alot but it's still AFI!
@YouzeBeASkeeza dude calm down. their new albums each need some getting used to but once u hear the way the lyrics r u will look at things differently. :) i recommend..... [[[[[[[[[[medicate, i am trying very hard to be here, too shy to scream, end transmission, and fainting spells]]]]]]]]] i admit i dont like EVERY song on crash love buts some r good.
C'mon dude, why in your opinion Decemberunderground is sooo bad?? It's just different for me..but not so bad. There are many good songs even on it, don't you think so?
On the contrary, Decemberunderground was far better than crash love, IMO. Crash love they changed to much from there old ways. I will not argue the fact that Medicate and Fainting spells are both amazing songs, but still. This is just my opinion though and what do I really matter. lol.
Specifically, as I stated already in this comment section, the Black Sails/All Hallows/Art Of Drowning/Sing The Sorrow era of the band featured a more-or-less unique sound that combined elements of several lesser-known genres to make something beautiful and unique. DU was a significant deviation from that sound and represented the end of an era. There were a couple of good songs, but it wasn't on par with their other work. As a long-time fan I think I've earned the right to dislike one album.
I actually agree as a fan and you mentioning Sing the sorrow and All Hallows and black sails gives you every right to dislike DU, however you must remember the band themselves said it would be a departure from their normal style, and even DU isn't as bad as Crash Love. I personally embraced Decemberunderground as a new project by a band that has always brought me joy, but I totally get where you're coming from. I mean you can't compare their old stuff to the new stuff, and honestly its just as well thought out, just as profound as it used to be, just in a different medium which is what you don't like which is cool and nobody should shit on you for it.
@JosephMontag So your mad that they are getting more popular and making more money so they can support their families and friends. I think your just selfish.
Hey..why are you mentioning Crash love and Decemberunderground on an AFI Album song (As in this is off their self titled album which came out ages before either of those albums.)
Bryan Allard, I totally agree with you, this IS defiantly one of their older songs, it was on the Self titled AFI album in 2000 and an EP before that I think, but maybe she was comparing it to the mid nineties stuff they put out..but I highly doubt it.
Loki Bloki he said their older stuff, i think like answer that and stay fashionable to the all hallows ep, when they were more like hardcore punk, this one is more like soft punk, still pretty cool, and better than the stuff that came later
One of the most fun song to play on the guitar... All of AFI's stuff is great to play with catchy riffs, cool hooks and mellow bridges.
I cannot thumbs up enough this literally gives me chills down my spine
Certified hood classic right here
I’ve actually heard this song in a strip club lol. The girl had good music taste .
@@bryannicholas2130lol hell yeah

Everyone needs money though … especially when you get older . I believe they won a Grammy for girls not grey . Not sure about their newer music tho
Time was so tangible, I'll never let it go.
I don't know much about genres, but i know this... whatever AFI is they rock.
i love his voice and i love this song
Why are "fans" saying certain albums sucked, but others rocked? Why can't we just love all of AFI's music?

If you used your eyes you'd of seen that the song came from "The Art Of Drowning" album, it said on the beggining and the end of the video! :)

Old AFI was the best.
Sorrow is truly a 10/10 record December I hated at first because of how different it was but over the years it grew on me

Decemberunderground was a lot better than Crash Love.
Hey..why are you mentioning Crash love and Decemberunderground on an AFI Album song (As in this is off their self titled album which came out ages before either of those albums.)
I feel sad that more teens listens to that crappy pop today :(
People saying du sucked and sing the sorrow was better? No they were both emo pop. They both sucked.
still not as good as their older stuff... just saying
lmao this is their old stuff

Yuck87 not completely
