      It is. Not as harsh as with the CFM56

    its crazy how close the MAX sounds like a 777/787

      The engines are indeed quite similar. The CFM LEAP shares some attributes of the GE90 series and a blade design with the GEnx engines found on many 787 and the 748. The low pressure turbine on the LEAP is a scaled down version of that found on the GEnx. Definitely a nice sound in my opinion.

      Overall it is. The fan on the CFM56-7b is 61” while it’s 69” on the LEAP-1B. Not a lot but definitely noticeable. The rest of the the LEAP is so chonky thanks to the repositioning of some of the equipment and accessories on the engine.
