Whenever Kenny tells "to taste". It feels like he's giving a dessert with freedom to add sugar at your will. In fact each one of his tutorials is a treat for me.
Once again everyone else has 3 minutes of bullshit in the beginning and superfluous information scattered throughout. Kenny is like "Here's what it is, here's how you do it". Love these videos.
Hi Kenny can you please do a video on how to do 808s in reaper with 808 samples, like another famous daw most producers use as well. I have made a complete switch to reaper but it is one of those thing that i face a huge problem with a short vedio will really a big help.
awesome video.... i'm learning reaper right now.... question: it looks like you adjusted your individual drum tracks before bussing them..... some people recommend adjusting bus effects, then individual tracks... can you comment on what order you prefer?
I am using the free version of reaper, and seems there's no routing logo on the tracks for me to drag it to the bus track. Is this function not available at the free version?
There is only one version of Reaper and there is NO free version of Reaper. There is only the two tier usage based fee. Justin uses the honor system and I really believe that people should pay the incredibly modest fee if you are using this product. Now, after saying that since there is only one version, the feature you are looking for is there but it may not look like Kenny’s because your theme is likely different.
I do this as well. People who naturally talk very fast like Kenny does will introduce a lot of breaks to help themselves sound more coherent. Otherwise it would probably be hard for people to understand him
Lol i've noticed this as well, but never made that connection. It's actually part of what makes these tutorials so beneficial imo; it is very easy to follow even the more complex vids because he is clear and well annunciated (even with the (NJ?) accent). I prefer this style infinitely over a teacher who talks to you like you're a child. RIP... Christophah.. Wahlken..
Hello there, i have a sound design exam and i have to use reaper can you please help me??? i have to create an electro acoustic piece with A-A’-A’’ form can you tell me which tutorial i can use?
It depends. You can have your reverb send to be post fader so it will reflect. You can also make it pre fader and just group the reverb with the dry buss, whatever fits your workflow
You can use Ctrl click to select individual tracks. Or click the top track, then press shift and click the bottom track and it will select all of the tracks in the range/series.
A bus is good since it allows this specific sort of sound to be controlled independently of the "dry" drum tracks. For the "dry" drum tracks it's likely you'll be adding transient shapers, EQ, compression (etc.) for specific kit pieces (you'd treat snare differently from kick for instance), so for an overall "fattening sound" to blend in with the dry it's good to have a "crush bus" like this. It's an approach you'll find built into plugins like Addictive Drums.
Hi, i've searched around various places in the web, but i can't find a way to do something like this guy is teaching in this video here: th-cam.com/video/Yr3VeYTrFhk/w-d-xo.html it's called infinite uplifter, he uses another software but i wanna know if there is a way to do this uplifting effect on Reaper, the only things that i got was which he is using something like a sampler to loop the audio and after is an automation on the pitch bend, can someone help me with this? thanks ah and before i forget, i have an another question: there is how to download the instruments on this site ( www.buttonbass.com/ ) but they use adobe air to run in desktop like a normal program, can i use this inside reaper like a vst? thanks again :D
+Rafael Santos You can use Reasamplomatic5000 (sampler) and ReaPitch (pitchshifter). Automate loop-end in Reasamplomatic5000. Then pitch it up with ReaPitch. If you need more detailed instructions, google for "Dub Delay tutorial" (I think what you're talking about is Dub Delay. I never heard of something like Infinite Uplifter).
i tried your suggestion, and it works :D , thank you so much!!! i just made 2 changes, instead use ReaPitch i used the pitch parameters of the ReaSamplomatic5000, and automated loop-start. i used the same name which was used in the video, but i believe you are right :D Thanks again
I started out pulling my hair out with Reaper, but your videos have made me fall in love with it!
Thanks so Much Kenny! Love my results!

Your tutorials are always spot-on. Thank you!

Instablaster.
Thank God for Kenny's tutorials
Why didn't you use pre-fader sends on this one?
Its usually typical to use pre-fader sends on parallel compression.
Another great tutorial.. Thanks Kenny
Could you do a tutorial on guitar plug-ins and IR's?
Once again..great tutorial and exactly what I needed. Many thanks.
Great video. Waveshaping distortion.js also sounds great on the drum bus, or anything for that matter. Brings my drums to life.
Excellent tutorial, very nice job!
Is it optional to make a normal buss first, then a crush buss afterwards?
Thanks Kenny for another great video!
You are a genius!! Thank you so much Kenny!!!
Thanks dude this is super helpful
Thank you again Kenny.
Brilliant. Thank you.

there is already an episode: audio to MIDI Drum Trigger. You might see it on the right side side.
Use 2op PM Synth. It comes with Reaper
@@maurov2104 ha-ha nice joke 😁
I love the Molot compressor in Sigma mode with a ratio of 4:1 for a good sounding drum crush buss.
I just downloaded that compressor this morning. Can’t wait to use it. I’ll try your setting first.
That was an extremely useful video. Thanks
Drum bus/folder for the dry?
This is the same thing as parallel compression?
very very valuable n helpful.... thanks so much kenny..
Kenny, you forgot to put kick’s send level back after duplicating the bus
awesome video.... i'm learning reaper right now....

Kenny....i love your...information....very useful.
But.......I cant help notice...you phrase....like christopher...walken.

if you listen to his Podcast "Mix Notes from Hell" Episode 21, he explains why he phrases things the way he does.
It is annoying, but also an EXTREMELY efficient teaching tool. It sticks right away.
Thanks Kenny great tutorial my friend!👍
CAN YOU ADD COMP ON DRUM BUS AS WELL AS DRUM SMASH BUS?? OR IS IT TOO MUCH?? THANKS :)
Hello there, i have a sound design exam and i have to use reaper can you please help me??? i have to create an electro acoustic piece with A-A’-A’’ form can you tell me which tutorial i can use?
If you use the dry buss as you suggest, any level alterations won't be reflected in any sends you have on individual drums (reverb on snare etc)?
It depends. You can have your reverb send to be post fader so it will reflect. You can also make it pre fader and just group the reverb with the dry buss, whatever fits your workflow
You could put the reverb as part of both or one of the busses if you prefer.
how you doing to selec all the track in same time?..
You can use Ctrl click to select individual tracks. Or click the top track, then press shift and click the bottom track and it will select all of the tracks in the range/series.
Hey Kenny, thanks for the vid. What theme are you using there? I'm new to Reaper but like the look of your mixer.
SomebodyPickaName that's one the default mixer layouts in Reaper 5 I believe it's called "Session Mixer"
this is like a NY compression when doing beats!
Hey Kenny. I play Roland electric drums into reaper. What type of processing would you recommend? Thx
Blend is a lot better. Than use plugins directly on the tracks.
I have one question about the update .
I need pay for update?

All updates to Reaper are free my dude
Ayy Mlao can you tell me how can I do this?
BOB MARLEK Just go to www.reaper.fm/download.php and download the installer like you did when you first installed, that will be the updated version
Ayy Mlao thx man. Wow Wow Wow
