@@juliannaistyping I did this! I had very minimal student loans after 2 years in university that I paid off within 2 years after I graduated in 2012, during the height of recession. At 33, I bought a condo and I am able to travel to a different country every year. Aside from the mortgage, I don't have any debt to pay. So I am so happy for you. You are doing the right thing. 10-15 years from now you will be financially stable and look back at your community college days fondly. Cheering you on!!!!!

When my mom died, the first person who my dad dated after was hands down the worst person I have ever met. My dad always assumed the reason I didn’t like her was the classic “you just don’t want me to be happy.” Five years later, they FINALLY broke up, and the next person he dated was fantastic. We were immediately friends. I will tell you the whole kid “angry about widowed parent dating trope” seriously almost ruined my dad’s relationship with me and my brothers. Not once did he believe us when we told him the horrible things she did.

The show is amazing. It portrays many Indian elements carefully and correctly. Making the main character a Tamil (south Indian region) is the icing on the cake. It's refreshing and liberating to see an Indian who doesn't speak Hindi or cooks chicken biryani for dinner on an American television show for a change!

i keep hearing how great this show is, but Devi just sounds insufferable.
Yeah unfortunately she’s a very flawed character. There’s some back story why she’s that way. Doesn’t excuse it but it’s real and grounded.
I heard that the show was good and i watched it, the character is pretty easy to empathise with tho AND MOST OF ALL THE SOUNTRACK TO THE SHOW IS BOMB.
I think she was similarly flawed but more tolerable in the first season. This season pushed it a liiiiitle too far for my taste. Her "apologies" are the part that's hardest to watch. There are also some really good storylines that weren't highlighted in this video. Her cousin, mom, and lesbian friend are all great characters.
She is flawed but the show actually makes sure she doesn’t get off the hook and honestly is a pretty good way of showcasing how a teenage girl may deal with trauma/mental illness
