Its more sad that in reality its the elderly that stayed as their children moved away. The little old person stuck in isolation in a dying village, once they passed the children came to take any valuables and left the home and possesions to rot. Thats why these homes still have so many possesions in them.

The abandoned village certainly had a creepy atmoshphere. At the same time knowing that people lived there and had to move makes you feel sad. The fact that this kind of thing will be more and more of a common thing is disheartening in a way. I myself live in a village of about 2800 residents -and while it is situated on a main road so most likely will not be abandoned any time soon- it is also true that most people don't want to move to a smaller settlements instead of a city, so a lot of houses had been up for sale in the last 5-10 years here.

Seeing the massive empty warehouses and facilitys are eerie, and especially haunting when you consider the place your standing in was a toxic gas facility, which was literaly responsible for thousands of deaths, all surrounded by rabbits. Ah! Beppu was one of the first places in japan I ever visited. The onsens are so beautiful. I got to live my dream of being in a massive onsen, on my own, while it snowed. Citron fruits floating by. Living my weeby anime dreams.

The Kyushu scenery looks so gorgeous, it makes me want to visit ASAP. Although I can certainly see why the town was abandoned, given just how remote it is.

This is the first time that an abandoned place you've visited has made me feel so sad. That village looked like a beautiful place to live, and so hidden away that it seems like it would have been very peaceful. I get that it's very disconnected from urban areas and it would be a pain to get your groceries and things, but I've been to places that remote before, and people live there because it's worth it to live somewhere so beautiful. The chair with the clean carpet makes it seem to me that some of the village's old residents still feel the same way. That's the sort of place I'd love to live in someday and seeing it abandoned feels like a waste. But I completely understand that the residents likely felt they had no choice but to leave in order to keep living.
Awesome video as always, and I am very, very jealous of the wagyu beef!
