I didn't know there was an alternative to those halogens. Never have liked those smokin' hot under cabinet lights I put in here. Thanks Uncle Scott!

If you give the LEDs a try, post back and say how they work out...

Minus the flicker, it sounds great.

The flicker is slightly annoying, but seems to be only with one bulb. I might change it out. Have to balance the annoyance from flicker versus the annoyance from heat and changing halogens all the time.

How'd they turn out? I have halogen G4's for wall sconces and kitchen range hood lights as well. When I changed to LEDs, they flicker and eventually burn out quickly. In my research you also need to replace the halogen transformers in the wall sconces for LED transformers, correct?

I’ve been told that when you change Halogen lights for LED one’s you also need change the transformer that works with LED lights.

Halogen bulbs shouldn't be touched by bare hands, the oils shorten the bulb life (or so I've been told). Perhaps the cooking grease is getting in behind the glass covers and burning them out? Could be the supplier just has an inferior product? Have you tried different brands? The LED bulbs look good!

I wondered about the cooking grease, because the vent hood screens definitely get greasy and I wash them with dish soap from time to time. The glass bulb covers seem pretty tight, but then again, maybe somehow some steam/grease is getting in there and fouling them. I think you might be on to something about the product quality and that is my best guess, because I have been using the same replacement bulbs for a couple years and all of a sudden they are not as reliable.

My Bosch Hood Vent takes G-9 Halogyn bulbs. I have not found LED's to fit it. Can you point me in the right direction Please!! Thanks

LED lights should be built the way that if one little light breaks, the rest will keep working. If you buy the cheap ones that won’t be the case.
