- Lets shine the spotlight on the "ultimate" Flash rogue: Anthony Gambi, aka Replicant - the man who can mimic other super villains' powers.
Replicant was created by Mark Waid, Brian Augustyn and Ron Lim. The Flash (Allen) was created by Robert Kanigher and Carmine Infantino. The characters are properties of DC Comics.

I liked Replicant. I viewed him as a salute to the Rogues, not a replacement.

I like Tony, but I also see why he didn't last very long. I think that the best thing to do with him is use him as a POV character in a hypothetical Rogues mini-series; his special connection with all of them could be used to great effect to show what these guys are like as people, & wouldn't have any limitations regarding when they take place: one issue could be dedicated to them grieving the death of Mirror Master I in Crisis On Infinite Earths, while the next issue could just be the Rogues going out drinking with Tony for his eighteenth birthday celebration.
Sounds awesome, I'd love such a series.

And this reminds me that, as a group, Flash's Rogues Gallery is kind of...wholesome. There's the feeling that they might be bad guys, but they're not bad GUYS. Mostly just typical schmoes who took a few wrong turns and got good tech to fight the heroes. They steal and try to hurt people, but they're not 100% villainous (I mean, Captain Cold sent flowers when Sue Dibny died). This just solidifies that: Replicant's related to one of their work buddies, so HE'S treated like family, too.
The glad rogues have a tailor? That's kind of awesome actually.

Replicant is definitely an interesting character. He shows a unique perspective from someone who sees the Rogues as more charming criminals than vile super-villains, and you can understand his motivation for revenge after having an old friend injured. Though I do agree that the whole "has the powers of all the Rogues" is a bit trite.
As for Morrow's name, I think you just pronounce the initials "T.O. Morrow", as they're short for his first and middle names, Thomas Oscar

I loved this guy. I wish there was more of him.
One I'd like to see for Forgotten Villains is Calvin Rankin aka The Mimic. It would be a nice follow up to Rogues copy villain to have an X-Men copy villain.

Not a fan of Replicant. Glady he's forgotten, but I do love the part before he got his powers as the rogues raising him like their own son. Wish the live action Flash series do something like this.
Replicant has potential specifically for his tribute status. I could see him rising the ranks, then literally turning on/refusing to work for any criminals/villains that view him as a 'replacement' for any of the Flash Rogues. He flat out will not work with those that disrespect his idols.
I like the character of Replicant too and I think his relationship and dynamic with the Rogues is really charming.
If feel sad he never got to finish his story. He deserved to a least capture the Dark Flash, But to leave him twisting in the wind is just depressing to think about. He would have made a great Rouge too, operating outside of them but always willing to turn to them for advise when he needs it. If anything he should have at least fought JLA, even if it was a one shot.
His version from Prime Earth appeared in Sideways number 4... in which he died.

This is the first time I have heard you talk about a rogue you do not like. Of course, I can understand why. Tony could have been a rogue himself, with his own gimmick and powers, instead of a clone of the other rogues. I do like the idea of a rogue fanboy, as it further humanises the rogues gallery.
For a future forgotten rogues video, can you do Cicada? He was a very scary flash rogue and I think you would like him.
I've done a few others I didn't like in the past - like Ten-Eyed Man ;)

@@mr.rogues4145 he was the big bad of The Flash Season 5 but interestingly the Arrowverse version of Cicada wasn't a cult leader but a scary serial killer who kills Metahumans, Cicada gets a bad rap among the Arrowverse fandom

I believe I've heard of Replicant before, not sure where though and I never really paid much attention to him since I wrote him off as a Parasite ripoff but I've learned to appreciate characters with similar powers since then.

So I'm guessing the "throughout the decades" introduction is retired now? Oh well. I've never heard of this character before, with the exception of his name being dropped somewhere. I think he had the potential to be a great Flash rogue. He's got a great visual design, and I think he has one of the best origins; a fan and close friend of the Rogues who decides to become a supervillain to get revenge on an evil speedster for harming his friends; I love it. With that said, I really would only want to see him in that one story, I can't really think of any others. If they were to bring him back, albeit rewritten, I would prefer the same origin with an expansion on the first story:
• Have Dark Flash put the other Rogues out of commission and Replicant fills in for them in committing crimes for them; this would give a much better reason as to why he gains all their powers.
• Have him figure out the mystery behind the Dark Flash.
• Have him sacrifice himself to defeat Dark Flash, indirectly saving the heroic Flash (pick your favorite), and like you said, becoming a legend in the Rogues and serving as a symbol for them to be united. It would also serve as an allegory for the Rogues; different superpowers being brought together to stop a single threat.

The classic Rogues do need to have a writer come in and remind everyone that these guys are good characters every so often. I believe Boomerang's crippling* and the creation of Replikant came *after* the UNDERWORLD UNLEASHED series, which started off with the Rogues being manipulated into suicide missions that got them all killed, then later reappeared as chaotic monsters representing ice, fire, etc. before the Flash could get their souls released.
*Yet again -- while on a Suicide Squad mission in the Conner Kent SUPERBOY series,, he was shot in his hands by Deadshot for betraying then, and had to use cybernetic exoskeleton gizmos over his hands for awhile.

I really like this as a one time story.
I've heard of the Replicant, but I've never read his stories. He sounds like an interesting character, on the whole, and I feel the proposed ending you named would be/would have been a good one.
I will say that when it comes to villains who have all the other powers of other villains...I'm torn, to be honest. I don't feel the creators make these villains because they want to replace the old ones. I don't think it's anything that cynical. It's done too often, both in actual comics and in bloody fanfiction/fanart to be that way. I think it's more that they think, "Hey, this guy will be EXTRA challenging, because he has all these powers!" I think that's also why those villains don't appear often or get to be as remembered. They are essentially intended to be brief, powerful challenges. Not recurring enemies in their own right, so to speak. The threat they pose is not one meant to be enjoyed very often. But that's just my stance. (shrugs)
I suppose that could be it too - sometimes I might be a bit too cynical ;)
I think Replicant is a very interesting villain. I like how he is a huge fan of Flash's rogues gallery, and will do anything they want with him. It's a total shame he is forgotten and hasn't appeared in recent media. Who knows, he might return soon, only time will tell.
The next forgotten super villains you should talk about is the nuclear family the most weirdest DC supervillain team ever they are very quit odd and heck they even appeared in Justice league action and Titans yeah that's they were in Titans I'm not making this up
Weren't the Nuclear Family robots who'd been created by a mad scientist who couldn't have a real family because he had radiation poisoning and was dying so he wanted to take as many people with him as he could by destroying a nuclear power plant.

Cool! I remember the Dark Flash run. A shame Replicant hasn't done much.
I have an idea for bringing him back, i’d have replicant be a full-time member of the rogues as well as the second in command after captain cold, however, he has a crush on the golden glider, which is why he always tries to get on cold’s good side, he gets along with most of the members, but the ones that he does not get along with are chill-blain, the second mirror master, and murmur, i’d change his powers a bit, he would have the ability to absorb and copy the attributes of objects, like, for example, morphing his hand into a gun barrel. his personality came into the focus of the story that I’ve created, in which the rogues are on hard times and chill-blain has the idea to rob the vault of a race car track filled with money, replicant discovers that Blaine is using his team to clear up his mod debt and is planning to sell his team out, so secretly, he contacts the flash to expose his scheme. And it all goes downhill from there.

Interesting character... cliche superpowers
Also kinda meh design. I'd love to see the kid come back, but loses the powers and instead becomes a tech villain that is like a legacy villain to various Rogues. He gets like second hand versions of their tech, but gets taught how to use them from the actual pros.
Taskmaster in the Marvel universe is like Replicant, and I could also make comparisons to Mystique, Morph, and possibly Combo Man and Captain Universe as well, but, unlike Taskmaster and the other people that I mentioned, Replicant got his powers from technology AND genetic manipulation. Honestly, Replicant could be more than a match for even beings like Dr. Manhattan or the Earth-4 Superman. Finally, if you want to argue that he has cliche superpowers, then you have to make the argument for that with others as well.

Ok, I recently found some information about a dc villain called "Gork". So far I haven't been able to find any information about him other than the fact that he appeared in Detective Comics No. 480. From the very little I've learned, he's supposed to be some kind of bio-human created by some Dr. Moon. He also appeared in the background of the justice league episode "The cat and the Canary"

Your video got me thinking on why The Flash Rogue gallery doesn't get the recognition of other villains. I think that the case for many of these Rogues is that their visual design is not as iconic as a Scarecrow, Joker, Doctor Doom, Red Skull, or The Lizard. I think that is why so many Reverse Flash story lines are popular. His design is a variation of Flash's cool costume. I think many of the the Flash Rogues are very cool especially Mirror Master! But the design of characters like Captain Boomerang may not interest readers.
Yeah, you do have some pretty goofy designs - Cap Cold, while awesome, doesnt really look all that cool (ironically), and Weather Wizard has always looked very 'meh'. Heatwave is pretty 'meh' looking too. Piper and Top look really silly. I suppose Trickster as well, but he's kinda meant to look silly.

I like this intro more for the heroes, I think that it could fit better having 2 intros depending of the subject, Hero or Villain, like Harvey Dent. I must say that this guy has a pretty cool origin, I always wonder what's with the guys that works with the supervillains and how they interact with them? Their lawyers, tailors, psychologist, etc

actually replicant made his big return in 2018 in DC's sideways issue 4 but later on at the end he gets killed
I bet replicant is going to show up in the flash TV show because lets face it the show has used almost every flash villain from the comics and they are ruining out very soon like they are using other villains that weren't even flash villains from the comic and these villains are just underrated, forgotten and just awful like this is the thing of why the show needs to end soon because they are ruining out of good villains like i bet Egg Fu is going to show up in season 6 because they might just use lesser-know justice league villains in the show

Huh, I try and keep up on Flash Rogues, but I somehow missed this one, and I even knew about the dark future Flash?! I like this guys origin, but his powers are kinda broken, even for someone as powerful as Flash
I read this arc a long time ago, and honestly I even forgot this guy was in it.. I suppose he is a bit forgetable.

A generic villain with a great background story, but I prefer the ultimate creation of Paul Gambi: "The Suit". An ultra-technological unbreakable costume... possibly being controlled by the spirit of a serial killer.

I'd rather read more comics with Doctor Domino, than more Replicant. This is just lazy and stupid, mashing all the Flash Rogues powers into one character. Kinda glad he never really came back.
