But seriously: probably Ovation, which is a classical music themed game by a woman designer! Also super excited to get my hands on the Coloma expansion. Also excited to try Wyrmspan and the new Liz design, Undergrove! And there's a new Button Shy coming out by an Indian designer called Glass Garden, which is a solo only game that sounds really good.
My top ten: 10. Sand 09. Pax Hispanica 08. Fromage 07. Pampero 06. Let’s Go to Japan 05. Arcs 04. The Old King’s Crown 03. Sankore 02. Salton Sea 01. Inventions: Evolution of Ideas Honourable mention to Galactic Cruise, which we’ve played this year but doesn’t officially come out until 2025.
I really hope you'll do a South Tigris trilogy as you did with West Kingdom trilogy with the TomeSaga. Saga for South Tigris is coming next year on KS alongside with the expansions.
I won’t lie M. Night Shyamalan movies are not hit or miss for me……….tbh, they are more like HIT……..MISS…..MISS…..MISS…..MISS….HIT. But Monique is right. I am always intrigued when he has a new movie come out.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on all the South Tigres series but particularly Inventors. I watched a play through of it and it almost seems like it was made complex for complex sake. I love all the Garfill games so far and I'd hate not not complete the series (yeah, I'm one of those). I very much trust your opinions and I think you do a great job explaining gameplay!
My most anticipated games are: - Bardwood Grove (almost here) - Inventions: Evolutions of Ideas - Wondrous Creatures (although I already played it) - the Dutch translation of Rats of Wistar
Great list! Some of the ones you mentioned are already on my radar (Inventors and Raas, for instance) and others are new to me that I'll have to check out. My top 5 most anticipated games for 2024 are: 5. Windmill Valley (Dani Garcia and Board and Dice) 4. Daitoshi (Dani Garcia and Devir Games) 3. Sankore: The Pride of Mansa Musa (although, I already own this one now. But it's FANTASTIC and it was my #3 going into the year) 2. Inventors of the South Tigris 1. Ezra and Nehemiah Honourable mention to Galactic Cruise, which could fulfill as soon as December 2024 if all goes without a hitch but is scheduled for arrival February 2025.
Oh, Fromage is up on Tabletopia and I have played a few times already, it's sooo fun! It's full of creative ideas and the game is just beautiful and not too complicated at all. My most anticipated games are FLOE, and Daitoshi!
Hmm, my most anticipated list for 2024 in no particular order is: A Gest of Robin Hood (so excited to hear you play the COIN games, I just learned about them late last year) Red Dust Rebellion (A sci-fi COIN game which is how I learned about them) Cretaceous Rails (barring it being late) Inventors of the South Tigris Through the Ice and Snow Pampero Forsaken (If it actually delivers this year) Unconscious Mind Creature Caravan Endeavor Deep Sea
Eagerly waiting for Arcs to be fulfilled in the next few months. Played it once or twice as multihand solitaire on TTS while it was in development, but getting to play with actual people will be nice, too.

Does Earthborne Rangers count as a 2024 game? The campaign ended in Autumn 2023, but I don't know how many copies have been distributed yet. For me I’m very excited to play Bardwood Grove that’s just about to start fulfillment from Kickstarter! If I can shoutout an expansion, I’m really looking for forward to the new Heat expansion! Another one that caught my eye is Gnome Hollow.

Great list as always! Mine would be Windmill Farm, Inventions: Evolution of Ideas, Cities, Daitoshi, Civolution, Inventors of the South Tigris, A Message from the Stars, Spectral, Pampero, Iron Rails: Age of Rail, Cascadero / Cascadito, Forage.
I am excited about just one game that is supposed to be coming out later this year, Firefighters On Duty, along with whatever expansions also come out for it (I already plan to get Fuel & Electrical Fires & may also get the tow truck). I have some doubts about how it is played, but I want to see more of a horribly underutilized theme to go with my 2 other fire service games. I am also waiting for the Europe expansion & Crurotarsi (North America) mini-expansion for Holotype. I also wonder if there will be another Pandemic retheme (the most recent of which I found out about just a few days before it was available).
Ooh, you should totally do a playthrough of Sleeping Gods. It's one of the most ambitious and unique games of this era, kind of storybook-y, but still very much filled with gameplay. Don't be scared, Naveen! Also, ask Van Ryder Games to send you some Final Girl for Monique to play solo on the channel! I so look forward to that day. :)
Providing the timeline doesn’t get pushed too much and it ends up being a ‘25 release, The Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era by Chip Theory Games tops it for me.
A great game that was released recently you may not have heard of is Expressions. It's a cooperative card game similar to the crew and hanabi. I received it a couple of days ago, and my wife and I love it already. It's light on the theme, but the gameplay is challenging and excellent.
Hope to see some coverage of Vijayanagara on the channel! It's an amazing game and great start to the new series. I think you two will love A Gest of Robin Hood as well!
Do the references to “Includes Paid Promotion” refer only to the Van Ryder segment at the beginning of the video, or does it also mean that you were paid for including some or all of the games on your Top Ten list in this video?
Vijayanagara is really great! Just played it yesterday. It’s quite a bit easier to get into and shorter to play than the other COIN games. I think it really hits the sweet spot between historical theme and playability.
Actually what were your thoughts on the south Tigris series….quite keen to know your thoughts.. I liked the architect of west kingdom probably will get viscounts but on the fence for south Tigris…would you recommend them?
We haven’t played each game enough yet. Scholars just once and wayfarers twice. We’d like to get a few more sessions in each. Lots of rules, and then 1, 2, 3… GO! We struggled with finding our path.
So far I’m not impressed with 2024 games. Hardly anything has dropped recently 🥲thank god for knizia. Marabunta is excellent. When he makes a game I’m instantly interested. Also salton sea is great. Fromage looks ok out of the whole bunch. Feeling like 2024 has started very slow. Im having to go back and buy all the games I missed for example Caesar’s empire, sunrise lane. All bangers. Can we have more medium weight games please. Don’t need story games and games that are monumental to teach. As you mentioned first rat made for a fun game for a group play. Give us more like that. Nice list btw. I’m sure you had to search hard to make this one
Naveen and I share similar opinions of Feld games, so Civolution is also #1 on my anticipated list. Some others I’m looking into that weren’t mentioned in this video are: 1. Sibille 2. HiFi 3. Galaxy Postman 4. Philharmonix 5. Neodreams Honorable mention for Conservas for a solo-only game
OMG They all look amazing XD I usually buy games after they are out but there's some Kickstarters that I pledged, Skyrise being the one that will be arrive soon!
That's a pretty solid list of games. I watched a rules explanation of Vijayanagara so I'll be looking forward to a playthrough but it might not be a fit for my gaming group. I thought Cities would be my favorite on your list for all the reasons you mentioned: Steve Finn, Phil Walker-Harding, DEVIR. Oddly, I don't seem to have too many DEVIR games in my collection. I'll have to fix that. But then you got to the top two. I've already ordered Inventors of the South Tigris and I'm definitely going to get Civolution. And a bigger table. Civolution is a monster table hog! But looks sooooo good. And Stefan Feldman, so sold. I'm also looking forward to Heavy Rain, first Heat expansion. Apparently Devir is finally putting out Autumn ( from the series that includes Winter ) so that should be worth a look also.
Thanks for your video ! I backed Inventors as I already have Wayfarers and Scholars (though I didn't play Scholars yet). My most anticipated is Explorers of Navoria. I backed it and had the chance to test it in Cannes and it was a very pleasant game, beautiful artwork. In a few days I'll receive Bardwood Grove, played it in Cannes as well and really enjoyed it.
Loved the list. You aren't going to be disappointed by Vijayanagra, although it takes 2-3 plays before you see the system come through. Also a virtual high-five for Civolution, dislike the name but oh man, its Feld 0_0
You 2 lovely folks are my top 3 anticipated reviews for Raas in the future 😍🤗. I am excited to get you to play Raas and I am hopeful it will live up to your anticipation 😍
Fromage intriges me and civolution off course. Castles of Burgundy special edition is definitely in my top 3 of all times... Incredible variety in that box. Marrakesh growed on me this year and i think it's sneeking into my top 5... A shame that certain review channels, read the dice Tower, ignored this game totally because of the publisher and price 🙄... Fantastic game
For me, I think the only one I am really waiting on is Andromedas edge, the only other game that sounded interesting was creature caravan but cant buy or order it sadly at the moment. Stefan Feld is also hit or miss for me, im not sure if i like Castles of Burgandy, i have it and will happily play but wouldnt say its my favourite.
:( None of use had access to the games when you did. It would have been nice to have a list of games actually coming to people's hands in 2024, which would include inventions, etc.
@@BeforeYouPlay I know you mention it, but it still doesn't make sense. If the video is intended for an audience, then that audience has never played inventions. It's a game releasing in 2024. Therefore, is it a game you would be looking forward to if you never received a copy? It just seems weird to say that it's not part of a top 10 list just because you've already had the chance to play it, but we haven't.. It's not really a top 10 in this case, it's simply here's 10 more games we're looking forward to. That's the end impression I get.
@@tylerdryden To respond to your original comment, these are all games that are “coming to people’s hands in 2024.” Also, you are welcome to think of it as a list of 10 games we are looking forward to because that is technically what it is. Thanks!
A bigger criticism is Monique not loving Stefan Feld over Naveen not loving Ryan L's games. They are euro gamers. Stefan Feld is a staple. Red Raven games are for people who love narrative games. As a euro gamer myself Ryan's stuff either hits or falls flat. I can absolutely see someone not getting into it. Less so with someone who loves Euro games with Feld.
@@shawns3911 Euro gamers don't need narrative. And, they are euro gamers at heart. Aside from sleeping gods. Red Raven is generally a pass for me. I'll take a crunchy feld game any day of the week. Twice on Sunday. If I want a narrative game I'm going with Awaken Realms or a dungeon crawler.

Without waiting, already on my shelves: "Sankore the Pride of Mansa Musa" and "Salton Sea".
Were you interested in windmill valley at all?
They mentioned it at the start with the reason why it wasn’t included in the list.
Loved the list.
You aren't going to be disappointed by Vijayanagra, although it takes 2-3 plays before you see the system come through. Also a virtual high-five for Civolution, dislike the name but oh man, its Feld 0_0
Great to hear that! Yeah the name is pretty bad lol!
Cities and Rock Hard are tops on my list as well. Also Then She came back and Striking Flint These are some Hollandspiele games.
You 2 lovely folks are my top 3 anticipated reviews for Raas in the future 😍🤗. I am excited to get you to play Raas and I am hopeful it will live up to your anticipation 😍
I am looking forward to all of these now. I really like Ryan Laukat games, but keep hearing about people who don't and it saddens me. Hahaha.
Arcs and Unconcious minds for this household!
Unconscious Mind. Inventions. Raising Robots
Yeah Monique really enjoyed her play of the game. I (naveen) really want to try it out!
No Arcana Prophetia? Just got it today. It’s my new nifty card game
Vijayanagara is definitely a very good game! Strongly suggest it
Hope to get a copy soon!!
I feel like I’d be more excited to run into Monique and/or Naveen in public than an A-list celebrity lol
Looking forward to "Path of Civilization'
About cheese? Clans of Caledonia with its milkmen faction definitely 😉
Ahh what a reference! That's one of our favorites!!
Knew it.. you mentioned once or twice. Greetings from far Poland.. 😉
I’m looking forward to nocturne.
What is Monique’s sweatshirt? It looks cool!
galactic cruise.
Are they living in the 20th century? What are these games?
Side list, Monopoly Legacy: Take You to Zero?
Andromedas Edge
Freedom Five
Union City Alliance
Deep Shelf
Forsaken
Elder Scrolls
Callisto 2200
:( None of use had access to the games when you did. It would have been nice to have a list of games actually coming to people's hands in 2024, which would include inventions, etc.
We have already covered Inventions on the channel earlier and even mentioned it in the video.
Thanks!
Sparking Zero
🙂👍
Unfortunately nothing exciting to spark my interest. Perhaps 2025 will be better?
Many more will be announced in the coming months.

Naveen hasn’t played red Raven games? Ancient world? Empires of the void II? Roam? Near and far? He must not be a real gamer 😉
Boooooo
A bigger criticism is Monique not loving Stefan Feld over Naveen not loving Ryan L's games. They are euro gamers. Stefan Feld is a staple. Red Raven games are for people who love narrative games. As a euro gamer myself Ryan's stuff either hits or falls flat. I can absolutely see someone not getting into it. Less so with someone who loves Euro games with Feld.
Ancient world and roam have no narrative..empires of the void II has a touch…
@@shawns3911 Euro gamers don't need narrative. And, they are euro gamers at heart. Aside from sleeping gods. Red Raven is generally a pass for me. I'll take a crunchy feld game any day of the week. Twice on Sunday. If I want a narrative game I'm going with Awaken Realms or a dungeon crawler.
