just about to watch your reaction. was that a spoiler in the ad read at the start??? Ive seen episode 3 and 4 and you referenced something that hasnt been said or hinted at
As a 54 yr old gay man, I think the deeper appreciation here, is the absolute love, care , respect & compassion they put into a love story with two men. We do not get afforded the ability to see ourselves as something other that stereotypes, Tropes and the butt of the joke usually. This made me cry on so many levels and I applaud, the actors, writers and HBO, for such an amazing job. Now, I’ll be out back digging my hole to capture my Frank. Lol
As a 60 yr old cis white hetero male I was very happy to see the portrayal of their relationship. I teared up watching it. But Nerdy's reaction legit set me to crying all over again.
It was an amazing episode. The actors, writing and directing were incredible. I too was so happy to see the men portrayed this way and also have been very happy to see the majority of people, even CIS hetero people be very moved by this episode. I'm very happy for gay people everywhere, seriously. Thank you HBO and all involved in this beautiful episode.
I am a 44 yr old father of 2 daughters who never played the games and knew nothing about them until the show. I cried like a baby in front of my teenage daughters who had never seen me cry. I was emotionally exhausted after this episode. I never would have imagined a tv show about zombies and a relationship between 2 men could connect with me on an emotional level about love sacrifice and purpose. my kids kept saying "papi are you ok" ..... Bill's love for Frank is how I view my love for my wife and kids best episode of television I have ever seen.
On a related note, I just watched a reaction to a guy watching an episode of _The Expanse_ who was crying, and I felt that because the scene he cried to always brings tears to my eyes. It was refreshing to see.
As a 50 year old gay man, I can honestly say this is the first depiction of gay love between two men that felt real. Everything else I've seen till now has been stereotypes, tropes and drama queens. Whoever wrote this actually gets it - that there are as many Frank and Bills in this world as there are RuPauls and Fab Fives. This was awesome.
@@northernpunx1978 Being 5 years older than Nick Offerman, we cry. We've just been trained by society and everything surrounding us our entire lives never to let anyone see it.
In the game. Bill serves as a warning to Joel, not to become the man he's headed towards. In the show, Bill serves as the inspiration for Joel to become the man he needs to be.
It's very cool that they managed to change the circumstances and the outcomes so drastically and yet retain the characters and the narrative function perfectly.
After crying with what seems like half of the internet watching other reactions, I was waiting for yours to release and you guys delivered. What a great episode.
This has been the sweetest reaction I’ve seen y’all do. There’s so much hate over this episode because it was gay. As a gay man having a Het couple react to it in a meaningful way is the best thing. There’s so many people calling this “woke” when it’s simply a love story. Love isn’t gay or straight it’s just love.
I have seen so many people say "Them wokes love shoving their gay agenda down our throats" which is freakin stupid. And if Bill met a woman and the episode went the exact same way, no one would have a problem with it. and that pisses me off. as a straight man, other straight men confuse me sometimes. Love is love, what's so hard to understand about that?
Exactly. I’m a straight guy but I didn’t see a “gay love story” here, just a love story. If the exact same events occurred, but Frank was a woman instead, those people wouldn’t say a thing. It’s telling of their own personal biases they ought to work on, NOT the quality of the storytelling or this episode. Glad you enjoyed it like I did. 😊
It was a great episode and a great reaction. Just one thing about the comment - I don't think Nerdy and Clarus should be considered a Het couple. Nerdy is pretty outspoken about being bi, which I really love. I don't remember/know if Clarus is straight. English isn't my first language, and maybe it's grammatically correct to call any woman-man couple Het even if they are bi or trans or whatever, but it feels wrong to me. Not that there is anything wrong with being a Het couple, and there are many completely straight couples posting beautiful reactions to this episode. Some of my best friends are straight 😋
I have seen way more love than hate for this episode, I have only seen a few idiotic comments from morons who complained, the vast majority of people have absolutely loved this episode myslef included.
one thing i notice with reactions to this episode, the people who truly love who their partner is always hug/look at/acknowledge thier partner when BIll says "I was never scared before i met you" Its just the sweetest thing to see how he embraced her when that line was uttered.
Bill taught Frank how to survive, and Frank taught Bill how to live. In the game Frank ends up leaving to see the world because he's too extroverted, gets infected, and hangs himself before turning. So Bill is a lot more bitter about the one person he trusted leaving him. Either way Bill serves to show Joel the difference between surviving, and living. Bill is a survival expert, but what does he know about living until he opens up? In the game he shows Joel how bad he can become if he doesn't trust people or open up, in the show he shows Joel how good it can become and what he could've had with Tess. So either way Joel starts to open up. That's the major theme in the Last of Us. Surviving vs Living.
I always thought that the second game's theme was SPOILERS . . . . . . . vengeance begets vengeance, and that it makes everyone think they're the hero of their own story, but your comment made me rethink that. In a way the second game is also surviving vs living: Abby survived, but lost all her friends due to her crusade for revenge for her dad. Ellie also survived, but lost Dina and her last part of Joel, that was playing the guitar. They could've chosen to just carry on living, but because they chose revenge, they survived, but won't ever live again.
@@ragnarok283 You mean from Studio Naughtydog.... Bill was gay in the game lol. In fact the franchise is full of gay people. The Last of Us is a game with a gay MC xD So you're watching the wrong show if you think there won't be lots of gay scenes
I just saw an article that originally the episode was edited to two hours for a "director's cut" and then they edited it down more so it could be aired but I am hoping with enough fan outpour that the 2 hour one can be released or online post season finale!! I really love the detail that Joel was wearing the plaid shirt Frank had on during the argument with Bill and some of the other production touches. Bill adding more pills to Franks drink (making sure he goes first) or the the charcoal portrait of Bill watching over the flowers in the bedroom. The symbolic wedding killed me!!! The world ended in 2003, gay marriage wasn't legal yet so the entire thing being just for them was the most heartbreaking beautiful moment. Both actors deserve all the awards, just give them out now. You can't beat those performances.
Agreed an all of your points, except one. Bill added those pills on Frank’s glass bc Frank did not knew the bottle was already spiked. It is literally what Frank asked at the start of the day; the pills being crushed and poured in front of him. point is, it is not to kill Frank faster, though it literally is, but the intention is to show Frank that he is committed to what he promised
31:18 "right, you have your dinner wine then you got your death wine. Cause you don't wanna ruin the dinner wine." AHAHAHA that killed me that was really funny.
You guys really embraced what this episode is really about. It’s not just about how how it makes you feel about the characters, it’s how it makes you feel about yourselves and about your own life. How they managed to capture this in about an hour is truly incredible.
This! I watched this episode with my husband... and we just weep and held and each and reminded each other of our promise to protect and cherish each other. it's an amazing piece of television.
When thinking back to the first episode at the end when the radio kicks on to play Depeche Mode, you realize that it turned on because Bill hadn't reset the 2-week timer, so Bill and Frank were already dead before Joel and Tess left the QZ and that was the first indicator.
Pro tip: Bill took the super grade gas due to its higher octane level, allowing it to maintain its combustibility longer, as gas evaporates fairly quickly. This is a good strategy for storing gas outside of an apocalypse as well
@@kvoltti All that sulfuric acid at the beginning. I don't get why Ellie is so impressed with the truck, though. The QZ has vehicles, and she took a bus to FEDRA school in the comic book.
@@thewirah1 But shes certainly never been IN one in the show adaptation, nor has even the slightest idea how they work. What makes you think she wasn't equally as awed by any in the QZ she may have seen? Not a perfect analogy, but imagine you or I seeing some sort of instant-teleportation vehicle for the first time; I'd be willing to bet you'd still be impressed after the first few. To the comic book point, you could argue (from her somewhat naive perspective) the difference between a large, slow, passenger vehicle that always runs the same route and never goes anywhere else, versus a compact, personal one that will go wherever you want it to. And school buses generally do not have seat-belts.
You know it's serious when Clarus is full on crying too. Great reaction and what a wonderful way to show humanity. Can't believe there are people out there who are complaining that this is "Woke gay crap". Like Clarus said after episode 1. Some people need to get off the internet and go out and touch grass.
When I saw this video drop, I was like, "Oh, no. They are going to be a mess after this one." You two leaning on and appreciating each other as your hearts were crushed by the episode made my heart feel good. Great reaction to one of the greatest episodes of television.
This was such a beautiful episode. I really like the depiction of a gay couple that we dont see often in Tv. Most of the time gays are portrayed as a mixed couple, both young and metrosexual. The Bear representation is really beautiful. As a bi man who likes bears i feel seen. And both actors were amazing.
It’s also the best example I’ve ever seen of depicting a gay relationship that didn’t feel like a corporation trying to score progressive points by making two incredibly shallow characters and just rely on them being gay as their defining traits that feels downright disrespectful to the people they are trying to represent. This was one of the most beautiful love stories I have ever seen with incredible character writing that just so happened to be two gay men, not shallow stereotypes.
I loved this episode, it's kind, sensitive and human. Bill and Frank we will love you forever. I cried, and I cried with you. Protect what you love, that was the message... A passionate episode in the apocalypse
I thought it was so sweet how their relationship made you guys recognize how much you care about each other and appreciate who you have. Thanks for that real moment. I say if this episode doesn't make you at least tear up a little than you simply have no heart or soul. Masterpiece, from beginning to end and hands down my favorite ep. so far. How do they make us love these characters in such a short time with them on screen and it hurts when they die. That's what made the game great. Not the infected and all that, but it was the fresh and smart writing, acting, and general story telling that makes you really feel it when something dramatic happens.I can't wait for ep.4!
I hope this doesn’t sound inappropriate, but after watching the episode and watching reactions, this video hit harder because you’re watching it with someone you love. I’m divorced and it still hurts to not have that bond and even still both Bill and Frank’s choices at the end made so much sense and didn’t feel emotionally contrived. Thank you for sharing your experience of watching this
I loved this version of Bill so much compared to the game. I ugly sobbed. It’s so damn beautiful. I told Doug this episode pulled an UP on me and dammit my heart hurts 😭
As intensely emotional as this episode was, and as much as I cried, this was such a happy, joyful episode. Bill learned to not just survive, but to live, and love, and hope. He was an isolated, closeted gay man who hated the world, when we first see him. When he met Frank, he was so utterly lonely, and when Frank saw through him and essentially let him know he was seen and that he wasn't straight either, Bill was so scared (that first kiss was so innocent, and you can see how tense and scared Bill is there, and how excited he was). And in the final part of the flashback timeline, he's 16 years into a happy, loving life with his husband. He can cry freely in front of him, he can exercise in front of him without fear, he's out there tending to Frank's flowers and winking at his love while he paints. In a world full of suffering and loss, he found the full scope of his humanity and someone who he could experience that with freely. We never get to see gay couples grow old together in media, it just isn't really a thing that's represented in any meaningful sense of the word. We get that here. And instead of living on to suffer in a world that provides no options for the medical support Frank needs, they go out on their own terms. In a media landscape that's full to the brim with LGBTQ+ characters that get killed off to further other people's stories, these two go out on their own terms in service of the show's core themes. Where the game used Bill as a way to show Joel what isolation would lead him to, they flipped the script here in the tv adaptation while keeping the message effectively the same, showing what love and human connection can foster, which contrasts beautifully with the opening scene where Joel is having a funeral for Tess, who he never let himself connect fully with. And yet, Bill would have trusted Joel to keep Frank...the one person he cared for...safe, if he'd have perished. He knew Joel had that potential to care and connect and keep him safe. That says something. Like Bill says, it's not a tragic suicide. They've had full lives. He's satisfied. They fall asleep in each other's arms and die there together, and the show doesn't exploit that, with the final shot through the window showing the interior, with the painting of Bill there and Frank's flowers, and cutting short of the bed. Both of the male leads were fantastic here, but Nick Offerman's physical acting was phenomenal. He needs to win an award for it, or I'll riot in the streets. And the writers were intensely rude for using "On the Nature of Daylight", calling me back to Arrival and a lot of the similar thematic elements. It's such a beautiful episode, one of the best I've seen on television in the last decade or two, easy.
When you grabbed your lady and kissed her after “I was never afraid until you showed up” I clipped it and sent it to my lady because I did the exact same thing at that line when me and her watched it. I just discovered your channel aaaaand subbed…but this episode had me and my lady in our feels and it’s great to see you two had a similar reaction. Thanks for this!
R.I.P. Annie Wersching. You will be missed. Annie voiced Tess in the Last of Video game. She passed away of cancer today at 45. You may know her for her roles in 24, Bosch, Runaways, Timeless, or The Vampire Diaries.
When Joel was explaining how it all started to Ellie about the food, flour, etc., I thought back to Ep. 1 and remembered Sarah was offered a biscuit & declined; Joel was supposed to pick up a birthday cake & forgot. The little details are outstanding.
As a cis, hetero man but an ally of the LGBTQ+ community, I have to say that this episode has probably done the most to empathize the fact that love is love, regardless of who is in love. The story was sweet, endearing, and real. Not what I expected from the third episode of a video game TV show adaptation, but it’s definitely one of my favorite episodes.
When Joel and Ellie entered the house, and the breeze closed the front door, it felt to me like the spirits of Bill and Frank had left the house because they knew Joel had arrived safely. An amazing episode and a fantastic reaction from you both.
My father and I watched this together. I don't think he really understood that there is just as much passion in gay relationships. This episode of this show explained more about me to him than anything I have ever said has done. We watched it a week after my grandmother died; she was the woman who raised me that I called mom. The episode both broke my heart and made me rise above what I was before in my dad's eyes. He gets it. He didn't before. This episode means so much to me.
Something about the message Bill left for Joel had me very emotional knowing the events of the game. Joel is so jaded that he couldn’t even let himself call what he had with Tess a real romantic relationship, even now when she’s gone you can tell he’s torn up inside but he’s so fucked up he can’t even cry for her despite wanting to. Bill was Joel, closed off with his walls up ready to lead a lonely, cynical existence until he decided to take a chance and let his walls down for Frank, and ended up leading a beautiful, fulfilling life with someone he deeply cared for. Joel once again lost someone he loved and couldn’t even admit to himself the emotions he had regarding Tess, now after Tess and Bills example here Joel is slowly starting to open up and warm up to Ellie. Knowing where their relationship goes made that “I was wrong, I found one person worth saving” hit me like a freight train.
All I can say is... Great reaction! Small side note: I think Ellie needed to dehumanize by cutting the forehead of that infected in the basement so she was able to put it out of it's misery. She wants to have the ability to not feel bad doing it.
I love that the episode makes you guys relate to your own love for each other. At the end of the day, this was the whole theme of the game and the show.
I love how your response to them is to tell her how much you love her, everytime I think about this episode I just think about how much I love my wife.
I mean, it is sad in the sense that there is sadness in death and finality but as far as their stories go, Bill and Frank had the best outcome we've seen out of anyone in the apocalypse. Lived in quite a lot of confort until one had enough and they both left on their own terms.
FUN FACTS: Joel & Tess were together 16 years 2007 - 2023 The role of Bill was initially to be played by Con O'Neill ( Viktor Bryukhanov - "Chernobyl / Izzy Hands - "Our Flag Means Death" ) but he had to drop out due to a scheduling conflict so Nick Offerman of "Parks and Recreation" won the role.
This my favorite reaction of yours. Ever. The moment when you looked at each and were so moved by this tv show to tell one another how much you loved each other. Brilliant and beautiful. Thank you.
This was so incredibly moving and it's so sad people have to label two people being in love as being "woke" which is so disturbing to think that people are seeing it as a trope as if homosexuality is a role to be played rather than real life.
I think it's time we ignore the negativity. In every era people try to fill their own internal gaps with spreading hate and disapproving of anything that promotes happiness, be it a gay relationship or anything they can grab from. Societies have evolved and become more inclusive and if things dont change dramatically, these voices will disappear more and more
@@mczeljki love the word woke. Know why? Because the second anyone uses it unironically I know to stay away from them lol. It's like an instant red flag
I didn't cry, but this episode definitely stayed with me. You can tell that a lot of thought went into this one based on the amount of details and Easter eggs. The rainbows on the baby's blanket at the beginning of the episode? Bill bleeding on the table and asking Frank to call Joel, after he got mad at Frank for inviting people over? That's the small favor Joel mentioned in the game.
Wow, I was born and raised in Greater Boston and I never knew the Canadian Rockies were so close! 😆 Also, I just love how we see Bill & Frank reflected in Joel & Ellie, where he's focused on survival while she prioritizes the little things that turn surviving into something more like living.
from Ellie don't wanna get blame into the one who wanna said sorry for Tess, from Bill who can't grow a propper carrot into having a beautiful strawberry, from Bill who chose to sit far when lunch with stranger into chosing to sit close to that person, having first kiss infront of antique piano into married infront of the same spot, this episod alone is nuts
"I'm glad we didn't watch this before we flew" I took a plane from Florida to Montreal back in April and we were having a LOT of turbulence. And "Dude, you got to go up in the sky", "Yeah, well, so did they" was playing over and over and over in my head LOL
Gasoline has a shelf life of 3-6 months. After which it rapidly loses its efficacy. Most gas is stale/unusable after a year. Diesel starts degrading after about a year, being unusable after 18-24 months. Its one detail that a lot of post-apocolyptic stuff likes to gloss over.
I LOVE how they showed Bill and Frank playing two different versions of Long Long Time on the piano, as it told so much about each character's history and worldview without a single line of exposition; Frank's rendition being much more light, cheery and hopeful while's Bill's was far more somber and lost (LIGHT and being lost in darkness still being key themes of course). 🤔 The beautiful thing was how they revealed the original song at the end, proving to be more a mix of both their versions. They truly completed each other... 😢
Another fantastic and emotional reaction you two! In the game, Bill was a cautionary tale on what Joel could become, but in the show, we see that Bill's story became an inspirational tale of love and redemption, even after so much loss. I know that fans of the game are going to miss the interactions between Bill, Joel and Ellie, but in my opinion the show runners did a masterful job translating this story to mean so much more and it will definitely affect Joel's character and decisions in the future.
I really didn't expect an episode like this after the first 2, it was beautiful...i cried the first time i watched it and i teared up again watching your reaction. I loved Frank so much, he really taught Bill how to live and not just survive. And both actors were simply amazing. I'm also really liking Joel and Ellie dynamic and it was great to see Tess again. If i really had to nitpick, Bill standing out in the open during the raid was weird, but really, just a nitpick lol
I love how Ellie is amazed by things we take for granted. I'm definitely the synical Joel type. When the episode tone shifted to Bill, it started to feel a little TWD, and I was worried. Once it got into the meat of it, I was all for it. They start the series by showing you the "evil" in the word, then with this episode, they show you the love and goodness that's still left. Gas can last 3 to 6 months, though fuel stabilizers can stretch that up to 2 years. Diesel a bit longer, i think. I wonder why the military wouldn't immediately secure any utilities like gas? They definitely have a plan that would include that. Ron Swanson should know to shoot from cover and not stand in the middle of the road, lol. Can we get a spin-off series about Bill and Frank's adventures? The letter to Joel was amazing. Getting backstory on side characters from the game is a nice way to fill the middle. TLOU is right behind Andor in my book, both know how to make their characters feel real and get you to care.
It's definitely up there with Andor. I could watch Bill & Frank's spin-off all day! Such a beautiful couple! Bill, a hard cautious person but gentle inside and very protective, and Frank a gentle extrovert with a child-like wonder.
I think they do a great job in general with showing very realistic reactions by everyone. Ellie being a teen who has never known life outside the QZ, Joel closing himself off, Tess trying to find what little happiness she can. Bill was a closeted gay paranoid loner before the outbreak, so when he meets Frank after 4 years with no human contact of course their initial interaction is weird and awkward but makes perfect sense. And it's just speculation, but I think Bill standing in the road shooting is to draw fire away from the house, but also points to him not being professionally trained. He is knowledgeable and knows how to handle a weapon, but I don't know if he's ever been in a combat situation before the outbreak.
@@lucidiously He is firing a SCOPED rifle while standing in the middle of the road. It was obviously only for the cool shot with the flames in the background. If he wanted safety, then he would order his partner to get into the bunker. It had nothing to do with drawing attention away from the house or lack of military experience.
10/10 Something special! That is how i felt after watching this episode! Not that i had watched something jaw-dropping or mindblowing! Just that i had watched something special that i propably will remember for a long time! This episode really showed the strengt of this series! Giving backstory to the side characters was an excellent idea! The story of Bill and Frank was very human and emotional! I will never forget that Piano-scene! Surprisingly moving! The actors did a fantastic job of creating this unique relationship! I think I shed a tear multiple times! The formular of the show might not be new, but episodes like this, makes it feel fresh and unique! Look forward to it!

Honestly, I’ve watched several reactions to this episode. This one is my favorite. The fact that it made you two realize how amazing it is to have someone in your life in this world and the love you have for each other was great ❤
to answer Nerdy's question about how long gas lasts - it depends a bit on how you store it but a few years and then it's going to get sort of dicey. Starts to accumulate water (which is bad for engines) and some of the vapors escape and change it's ability to run in a normal gasoline engine. Diesel would last longer. The generator and his truck are probably diesel.
Hi there, just thought I'd leave you a note not just for the algorithm but as an emotional human being just like you two.
@@Ash16180 Clarus is also bi, just not as sharing as Nerdy gets.
one thing i notice with reactions to this episode, the people who truly love who their partner is always hug/look at/acknowledge thier partner when BIll says "I was never scared before i met you" Its just the sweetest thing to see how he embraced her when that line was uttered.
Offerman's sad, sad "I can't...I can't" just tore me to shreds. Loved your reactions.
Joel: "They're gonna beat your tripwires and fence."
Bill: "Lol, hold my flamethrower"
Frank:"If you say 'resource management' one more time....."
The game is what happens when Bill doesn’t give Frank the lawnmower and paint he wanted
Tess's "Save who you can save" line ties with this episode very closely and in the end is the same message fr Bill.
I always thought that the second game's theme was

vengeance begets vengeance, and that it makes everyone think they're the hero of their own story, but your comment made me rethink that.
The only thing they thought each other was how to nail another dude
Abomination from HBO!
If this is true and they don't release the director's cut, I'm going to war!
So what you telling me is, they can take director's cut of episode 3 to the Oscars and it can sweep.
Great! because it more than deserves it.
Don’t give me hope 😫
@@darryljack6612 *Emmy's. Oscars is for movies. Unless they release the 2 hour cut as movie instead :P.
29:46 "that's the hole that they met, before they got in each other's holes" i'm crying but also laughing when you said that 😭
Me too-😭😅
31:18 "right, you have your dinner wine then you got your death wine. Cause you don't wanna ruin the dinner wine." AHAHAHA that killed me that was really funny.
i don't think that was supposed to be funny
You guys really embraced what this episode is really about. It’s not just about how how it makes you feel about the characters, it’s how it makes you feel about yourselves and about your own life. How they managed to capture this in about an hour is truly incredible.
Druckman mentionned a 2 hour director cut. Would love to see it!
This! I watched this episode with my husband... and we just weep and held and each and reminded each other of our promise to protect and cherish each other.
it's an amazing piece of television.
I loved the changes they made from the game. Exploring Bill's journey and using it to solidify Joel's new purpose was incredible.
I will never be able to listen to that Linda Ronstadt song again without coming completely undone.
When thinking back to the first episode at the end when the radio kicks on to play Depeche Mode, you realize that it turned on because Bill hadn't reset the 2-week timer, so Bill and Frank were already dead before Joel and Tess left the QZ and that was the first indicator.
Two stand out lines I remember 'I thought we were going to watch them fight zombies, not grow old together 😢' and 'I'm so happy -said while sobbing -'
Pro tip: Bill took the super grade gas due to its higher octane level, allowing it to maintain its combustibility longer, as gas evaporates fairly quickly. This is a good strategy for storing gas outside of an apocalypse as well
Most post-apocalyptic worlds are pretty fun until people learn that gasoline doesn't lasts for ever.
@@a7v976 Nor do car batteries. Most of the cars would be virtually useless given 10 or 20 winters just sitting there.
@@sws212 that’s why Bill stored the battery in parts to be assembled
True, it’s hard to crack a Stepford Wive’s plastic expression. Lol
The Bill and Frank relationship was so incredibly well done. Even with just a few scenes, the connection is there and it feels real and solid.
I loved this episode, it's kind, sensitive and human. Bill and Frank we will love you forever. I cried, and I cried with you. Protect what you love, that was the message... A passionate episode in the apocalypse
You know, I was bummed that there was no prologue and then the writers of the show said, "Oh you expected a flashback? Hold my beer..."
"We look so Canadian..."
Nah, just inadvertent Bill and Frank cosplay. *smiles

This episode was Emmy worthy!
i predict an Emmy nom for Nick...what a fine performance for both.
That was the first thing I said upon finishing this episode.
@@jameshartley5 Both of them got a nomination.
When Joel was explaining how it all started to Ellie about the food, flour, etc., I thought back to Ep. 1 and remembered Sarah was offered a biscuit & declined; Joel was supposed to pick up a birthday cake & forgot. The little details are outstanding.
Plus they were supposed to eat pancakes for breakfast but they were out of pancake mix 😥
And Sarah didn't eat the cookies because... raisins instead of chocolate chip.
Holly Guacamole now I realize they dodge so many flour made food.

Excelente reflexión la tuya. No había caído en ello, y ahora que lo comentas, me parece un perfecto detalle de guion.

Nick Offerman should be doing a lot more serious, dramatic roles. He aced it here.
Oh my god, this made me cry harder
I like how the producers say when you make changes, elevate and change it for the better.
I’ve watched so many reactions and I keep crying with every one each time!😭
Edit: wow you guys cried even more than me.😂
haha same.... reaction videos watched: about 22. still crying like a baby. this episode damaged me a little emotionally. ngl

Same. Every reaction I still cry. Yet I keep watching. 😂
@@MarshallLando same to me, this episode really wreck me emotionally 😭
Between this, and ep 6 of Sandman, i am happy to see such stories told that really touch a lot of people.
And this is the “happy” episode according to Druckerman. We are in for it.
I mean, it is sad in the sense that there is sadness in death and finality but as far as their stories go, Bill and Frank had the best outcome we've seen out of anyone in the apocalypse. Lived in quite a lot of confort until one had enough and they both left on their own terms.
Give this episode all the awards.
Rewatching this, and at 32:38 "I wouldn't want to be alone again." is when I started to cry again. I'm fortunate enough to understand what you mean.
You two really need to stop being so adorable together. My cold dead heart can't handle it.
5:16- I like how the little "just you" quip has become Joel's go-to dad joke... 😂
FUN FACTS:
Joel & Tess were together 16 years
2007 - 2023
The role of Bill was initially to be played by Con O'Neill ( Viktor Bryukhanov - "Chernobyl / Izzy Hands - "Our Flag Means Death" ) but he had to drop out due to a scheduling conflict so Nick Offerman of "Parks and Recreation" won the role.
I would have loved to see Con in this, but Nick did such a beautiful job
honestly, Nick Offerman looks so much more like Bill from the game. The beard length is the only significant difference.
Offerman had also scheduling conflicts. But his wife read the script and said to him "you go to Calgary"
In my experience so far people using the word „woke“ have not a clue what it actually means
Also, I just love how we see Bill & Frank reflected in Joel & Ellie, where he's focused on survival while she prioritizes the little things that turn surviving into something more like living.
from Ellie don't wanna get blame into the one who wanna said sorry for Tess, from Bill who can't grow a propper carrot into having a beautiful strawberry, from Bill who chose to sit far when lunch with stranger into chosing to sit close to that person, having first kiss infront of antique piano into married infront of the same spot, this episod alone is nuts
"I'm glad we didn't watch this before we flew"
I took a plane from Florida to Montreal back in April and we were having a LOT of turbulence. And "Dude, you got to go up in the sky", "Yeah, well, so did they" was playing over and over and over in my head LOL
"It looks like solid hard wood" damn that got me 😆 🤣 😂
Glad I'm not the only guy in the world that openly shows their feelings.. I cried my ass off as well..
Such a shame that showing emotions openly is still considered "unmanly" in some cultures/groups
@@WildFinn96 Agreed.
The beautiful thing was how they revealed the original song at the end, proving to be more a mix of both their versions. They truly completed each other... 😢
One of the most well done episodes of television I've seen in a long time.
Bill: "Oh what are we having formal garden parties now?"
Frank: "No..."
Next scene:
Theres something really touching about seeing two people cry together at something so powerful.

to answer Nerdy's question about how long gas lasts - it depends a bit on how you store it but a few years and then it's going to get sort of dicey. Starts to accumulate water (which is bad for engines) and some of the vapors escape and change it's ability to run in a normal gasoline engine. Diesel would last longer. The generator and his truck are probably diesel.
