The Sony executive stopped at cable television, 'cause soon after, video games took a huge chunk of revenue. Movie theaters will become, like live theater, they still exist but only a small portion of the population goes, because it's too expensive.
So far, for Hollywood, the show is still trying to get some sort of film together, in order to make another movie again, from this shutdown. Right now, there hasn't been one found, just yet.
Let's not forget, that after the 9/11 attacks, there was a lot of public breast-beating over movie/tv violence. Well, in the wake of the attacks, video rental stores (like the late Blockbuster Video) reported a huge increase in action movie rentals across the country. And action movies are all about bad guys getting their hineys kicked by the good guys. The movies have always been vehicles of escapism and I have reason to believe they will come back from this as well. Although, for many, they would prefer to wait until they've been vaccinated against COVID before they walk into a theater but I am quite optimistic we can have vaccines available by early 2021. And that is fine with me.

The movie/TV industry will be alright. Sports, amusement parks, concerts and nightclubs, that’s going to be a challenge.
Costs too much to go to the movies. Not like even $10 gets you in the door.

Hollywood will bounce back, but actually going to the movies is going to take awhile. Who wants to be sitting on top of people in a theatre!
Why?? Maybe the break will do them good. Most of the movies were crap anyway.
