Oh I know the feeling of that guttural queasiness you get when smelling something that gave you a very bad time. It took me a few years to get over something that did that for me and even now it is not fully gone.
I bought some but I haven’t worked with it yet! I think for nostalgia’s sake I will remake it with some potassium carbonate (basically the same stuff as sodium bicarbonate) and see how it comes out!
Can use potassium carbonate to balance ph as well. Sold at local brew shop. I’m actually picking some up tomorrow.

ever try 1 g/L of sodium bicarbonate rather than a banana? if that doesn't work, double the amount
