A closer look at the Helicopter operations at the time of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986. Links to the x-plane stuff: forums.x-plane... forums.x-plane... forums.x-plane... forums.x-plane...
Apparently they did. It was supposedly Mil Mi-24R, a version equipped for nuclear war operations. It was used in Chernobyl as a wide area radiation measuring device. I could not find any additional info about this model, other than the "R" letter being used. It can be seen at 10:55
Why I even bother :) Wikipedia knows it all. "Mi-24RKhR (Hind-G1) NBC reconnaissance model, which is designed to collect radiation, biological and chemical samples. It was first seen during the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster. Also known as the Mi-24R, Mi-24RK and Mi-24RKh (Rch)."
There are levers (DOORS/CARGO) on the middle console, to the right of your seat. You can also assign joystick axes to "thrust vector" for doors and "flaps" for cargo ramp.
wow, amazing video! glad you used my scenery, you made a stunning historical video!
Thank you, and especially for your contributions to the XP ecosystem.
Hey if possible can you make a scenery for the University of Mississippi Medical center? Would love to do MedEvacs from there!

Hi! Do you know if they used any Mi-24 HIND in Chernobyl? I'm looking for info, but I can't find nothing...

I've checked again. It seems there was an additional "R" in the designation. Mil Mi-24RR

Do you know any info about how the heli crashed
It struck steel cables hanging from a crane. A "pilot error" type of accident.
