Thank you very much for uploading this interesant documentary about a Saxony village in Siebenbürgen, before emmigration to Germany almost made this great Central European culture dissapear. What the Saxonys and Schwabens in Siebenbürgen and the Banat created during 800 years, was destroyed by Ceausescu and the following modern times in only 30 years! A terrible lost of important European culture.
No, absolutely wrong !!! ALL Romanian citizens had to suffer under Ceausescu. The Romaninas, the Hungarians, the Gypsies and the Saxons and Suevians, too. There are many videos, that show and prove, that especially the Germans in Romania had minority rights of what Silesians and Masovinas in Poland could dream of. Saxons and Suevians could celebrate their Kirweihs as well as any other old German customs and traditionel manners. The Germans had German schools, newspapers, radio- and TV. In 1989, communism dictatorships ceased to exist in ALL countries of eastern Europe. From now on, there were NO reasons for Saxons and Suevians to leave their homeland, they lived in for many centuries !!! It was the greed for buying stuff, consuming and consuming. New clothes, new fashions that were not in any more the year after... It were the Saxons and Suevians THEMSELVES to get rid of their forefathers labour and commitment. They gave in to the temptations of capitalism, which ultimately brought them the loss of their ancestral homeland, and they never became free in the dictatorship of consumerism. Quite a few ended up in prison in West Germany, became addicted to alcohol or committed suicide.
Sagenhaft!
Klasse ! Danke !
