Советский Союз потерял по разным оценкам от 18 до 27 млн. потерь.
Вот один из вариантов из этих данных
погибло военнослужащих - 8 668 400 человек (6 818 300 солдат погибло в боях, госпиталях и при прочих происшествиях, а 1 850 100 человек не вернулось из плена, и 99,99% из них погибли там, а не имеется ввиду, что они остались в европе);
потери гражданского населения в зоне оккупации - 13 684 700 человек (из них:
преднамеренно истреблено - 7 420 400 человек;
погибло на принудительных работах в Германии - 2 164 300 человек;
погибло от голода, болезней и отсутствия медицинской помощи - 4 100 000 человек).
Из этих жертв погибших только детей до 16 лет погибло около 2 500 000 - это все: преднамерено убитые, погибшие в концлагерях, от голода, от не получения медпомощи.
Так же отмечу, что в Беларусской ССР был убит каждый 4-ый, т.е. 25 %.
На эту тему советую посмотреть беларуский фильм "Иди и смотри" (смотреть без маленьких детей и без впечатлительных женщин) . Также найти про деревню Хатынь и прочитать про неё.
Ещё отдельно: В ленинграде только гражданских за 900 (если быть точнее 872) дней блокады погибло около 700 тысяч
Западная пропаганда манипулирует этими цифрами, говоря о том, что эти жертвы на совести руководства СССР, якобы оно "заваливала мясом", т.е. воевала "числом, а не умением", не считалась с потерями и тому подобную чушь.
Но на самом деле ВОЕННЫЕ, подчеркну ещё раз, именно БОЕВЫЕ потери СССР сопоставимы с боевыми потерями третьего рейха, это от 7,5 млн. до 8,5 млн. у СССР и от 7 до 8 млн. у немцев. И это без учёта союзников гитлеровской германии: итальянцев, румын, венгров, финов, болгар, чехословаков, французов, испанцев, норвежцев, шведов, хорватов, всяких колобарантов, типа, бендеровцев, лесных братьев, подразделений из крымских татар, чеченцев, азербайджанцев, РОА во главе с гнералом Власовым (в основном набранных из советских военнопленных от 100 тыс до 300 тыс. по разным данным ).
Есть отличный американский документальный сериал "Неизвестная война" 1978 года (уже тогда НЕИЗВЕСТНАЯ???) Кому тяжело или лень читать про историю Великой Отечественной Войны, но хочется более-менее ознакомится - советую.
Вечная память солдатам Красной армии и армий ее союзников, погибшим во время войны. 🙏

All residents of the USSR in 1941-1945. resisted fascism and fought against it - some at the front, others in the rear. You in the West do not know what horrors and hardships the Soviet people went through in those years. Every family in the USSR then lost their loved ones. Workers at factories often spent the night right in the workshops because they did not have the strength to go home. In the villages, women and teenagers plowed the fields themselves, because all the equipment was taken to the front. Even children 6-16 years old helped the partisans, went on reconnaissance missions, and fought at the front. One boy, at the age of 6, received a medal for his participation in battles. And there were many like him. Children aged 12-16 received the title of Hero of the Soviet Union (many posthumously) for their outstanding exploits. The hero cities you named are the places of only the bloodiest and fiercest battles with the Nazis on our land. For example: Hitler captured all of France in 40 days in 1940. And in 1942, in Stalingrad, the Germans were unable to take just one strong point in 60 days - the so-called “Pavlov’s House”. This house was defended by only 20-30 Red Army soldiers against the advancing German divisions.
I would like you in the West to understand: it is useless to fight with the Russians, you will not defeat us anyway! Not a single army in the world can resist the Russian army. Even the Wehrmacht could not, and your current “armies” are frankly weak - they are more concerned with gender issues than with combat training. Therefore, when peace comes, let's be better friends, trade, and visit each other.

Пока были живы наши деды и бабушки - фронтовики, мы каждый год их поздравляли с днем победы. Ходили в места, где собирались ветераны и дарили им цветы. Везде была музыка и радость. Но их становилось все меньше и меньше. Я чувствовала, что должна передать память о моих героических дедах моим детям. Это должна быть эмоциональная связь и любовь как у меня. И я стала в этот день выносить портреты моих родных ветеранов, когда мы ходили с детьми смотреть традиционный военный парад. Многим эта идея понравилась. И через несколько лет это стало массовым явлением и целым большим шествием с портретами родных ветеранов. Бессмертный полк. Но в этом году его не будет, т.к. сейчас сложнее обеспечить безопасность большого скопления народа. Но мы все-равно выйдем гулять с портретами наших дежушек и бабушки. Чтобы дети чувствовали связь истории нашей семьи с историей нашей страны.
Это прекрасно. Нам всем необходимо сохранить эту традицию навсегда.
Самый выносливый почётный караул стоит на Мамаевом Кургане, у нас в Волгограде. Летом температура бывает до + 45 по Цельсию в тени. Там разводящий караула холодной водой просто протирает лицо солдата. А зимой? На Мамаевом кургане дикий ветер и - 25. Все выдерживают кавалергарды. Ехала я в поезде с этими ребятами, общались шутили. На службу не жаловались, хотя конечно трудно. Хотя конечно ребята как на подбор высокие и красивые.
На Красной тоже самое.Это почётный караул.

Ладно, если в жару! Читала, как в начале Великой Отечественной экипаж одного нашего танка (кажется, КВ) несколько дней в одиночку оборонялся от немцев при морозах -30! А в танке ведь костерок не разведешь и отопительных батарей там тоже нет!
Поэтому мы и помним о той Великой войне! Поэтому и сейчас наши ребята защищают нашу Родину своей грудью!
I know what you mean about the feeling of places like that. Actually just Moscow in general has such a heavy historical feel to it and it's quite emotional. Australia and the west really can't compare with what they've been through.
In Australia they do host events for ANZAC day. Which are the combines forces of Australia and New Zealand. But I agree though, the sheer numbers and sacrifices are not nearly as measurable.

I love that they remember all those millions of Russians who died in WW2, and loved that the names of the cities are on the stones beside the Eternal flame.

I've been there in the park near Motherland Statue- it is impossible to put in words all feelings that I had that day, mine and my friend's eyes were in tears all the time..

Круто!!! И служба в Президентском полку невероятно почетна и рукопожатие Путина - нечто особенное. Думаю, много людей во всем мире могут позавидовать Вашему соседу.
Там очень жесткая строевая - по несколько часов ежедневно, с обычной армейской службой не сравнить! Вообще человек должен быть физически очень выносливым и закаленным, чтобы там служить, мало кто выдержит по здоровью. Тем не менее попасть туда на срочную службу очень-очень непросто, и не только потому, что почетно и престижно. Один знакомый, который там служил, говорил, что после этого гораздо легче найти хорошую работу практически в любых силовых структурах.
Вот именно, только славян и берут туда, а когда надо воевать то первых кидают тувинцев, бурят, калмыков и кавказцев. Ну и что не правда?

I love this over grocery stores. Gives a deeper understanding of a country and its people. I live in Arizona and my neighbor is from Moscow. I mentioned your channel to her and we have become friends talking about the Moscow she grew up in and now. She smiled when I mentioned a few things I've learned thru your channel. It warmed my heart to break thru to her. She was cold and aloof, but not any more. We talk a lot and have come to understand that no matter our background beliefs and philosophy we are all human beings.
Thank you for your interest in our country. Russell's channel shows real real life. Russell is great for doing this. Otherwise, many in the West may get the impression that Russia is in decline and depression. Which, in fact, is far from the case and even completely the opposite.
Russell is a great guy in this regard. And if there is even more interest in Russia, then there are many other channels. It is better from people who actually live in Russia. One of the most beautiful is the Window to Moscow.

Those standing on the honor guard serve in the Presidential, or as it is also called, the Kremlin regiment. Its commander will report directly to the President. The regiment guards the territory of the Kremlin and the institutions located there, and one of the units serves as honorary guard, including at special events and meetings of foreign leaders. Tall guys with excellent health and appearance are selected there.
You, brother, did not mention one interesting feature of such guards. If you have a twin brother similar to you in height and build, preference will be given to both of you. You will stand on the same guard.
Just imagine how 2 absolutely identical guards stand at their post.

I have been 3 times i am from Australia. My wife translates for me the names and the history it is a blast. Walking on Red square is so much feeling, how many who marched here died for there country over the centuries, i didn't walk in Red square i marched i was on hallowed ground. The students are probably cadets there are many different cadet units, They are military but also well educated yound people. My wife was a very proud Pioneer, and rode up in the ranks.

Я русский мне уже 54 я конечно много раз видел где "похоронен" Ленин но за всю жизнь у меня никогда не возникало желание увидеть его мумию . Для меня лично он тиран и убийца собственного народа какие благие намерения он не преследовал цель не оправдывала жертвы . И как известно революция пожирает своих детей что с ним и произошло . Со временем я надеюсь всех людей у кого руки по локоть в крови своего народа не важно белые они или красные они должны убраться с красной площади и должны быть преданы земле . А также те кто расстреливал людей или был наводчиком или приговаривал людей к пыткам наказаниям или расстрелам должны быть оглашены по фамильно как белые так и красные . Примирение может быть только тогда когда виновные будут осуждены хотя бы посмертно

Until 1997, there was no permanent guard post at the Eternal Flame at the grave of the Unknown Soldier. The sentries were exhibited only for the period of solemn and commemorative events, laying wreaths.

Раньше караул был у мавзолея Ленина. И смена караула смотрелась гораздо интересней,чем сейчас и удивительно,что вы не увидели это.

Just watched this video-very moving. The USA does something similar at Arlington Cemetery. My uncle is buried there. We have the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and I watched the ceremony there several times. It is 24/7 even during blizzards they stand
I wonder what you mean by "blizzard". In Moscow, a guard stands at the Kremlin wall even at -30 degrees Celsius.

We have a similar change of guards in Sweden at the royal palace in Stockholm. But not as orderly, precise and grand as this. And I can understand that this place gets people very emotional. I would like to know where the guards hang out and what they do between their shifts.

Это могло быть не только в Швеции, но и с таким же успехом где-нибудь в Англии или, скажем, в Швейцарии, Испании, Франции и т.п. Просто традиционный старинный церемониал - на забаву туристам, не более того. Разве можно сравнить это со сменой караула у Кремлевской стены или на Мамаевом кургане! В этих местах стандартный церемониал (по крайней мере у жителей России) вызывает совершенно другие эмоции - и вечный огонь, и могила неизвестного солдата, и перечень городов-героев каждому из нас напоминает о наших героических предках, о тех из них, кого забрала война, о тех муках, которые они пережили.

Therefore, you just need to come and personally see with your own eyes both museums and historical monuments and culture and architecture, and, of course, the Russian people themselves. 1000-year-old Russia will open you a whole universe and civilization. Many who have visited Russia do not want to leave and remain. Or, at least, they remember visiting all their lives.

10:40 Those are казаки-кадеты - Cossack Cadets. The red top on the commander's hat is telling that they are either Kuban, Don, Siberia, Yenisey or Ural cossack (кубанские, донские, сибирские, енисейские или уральские казаки). There are cadet corpuses almost everywhere in Russia.

Professor, that small piece of the Parade Leader, squaring up the Soldier, was just perfect! Sir, that is the way the Parade Officer “squares-up” a soldier not quite having his uniform correct. It’s also a “Private time” when the Officer can encourage the soldier and allay some of his fears. Professor, I say this because of the years I, too, stood at “Attention” for hours …it’s those little words from your “Leader” that really cements your relationship. Парни должны иметь безупречную репутацию, быть отличниками в учёбе и боевой подготовке, иметь отменное здоровье, высокий рост и славянскую внешность. В этот полк попасть очень трудно и очень почётно.
Группа мальчиков и девочек в камуфляже, скорее всего, кадеты - воспитанники кадетского корпуса, приехали на экскурсию со своими наставниками, я так думаю.
Four seasons hotel is very nice I used to stay there because its really close to the red square as you can see and also the state museum. once i went to that KFC/ Rostics with a couple of friends ...we sat down and i waited for 30 minutes for my beer, the cashier refused to sell them to my friend because she looked so young .... so i went up to get them .. got a free beer for having to wait as an apology, they didnt even ask to see my NZ passport... a bearded unhappy man was enough proof for them
