    in "The Man Trap," they were looking for futuristic salt shakers. Every one they found required someone to actually announce that it was a salt shaker for the audience. They went with salt shakers from the NBC commissary. The others became Dr. McCoy's operating instruments.

      Mid-century modern salt shakers made by Stelton in Denmark. They were originally wood around the bottom.

    My favorite prop reuse is all the metal Klingon Blood Wine mugs for all the shows are real metal 1 Quart Bakers Measuring Cups you can buy at any kitchen supply, or Amazon.

    In "The Naked Time" (with the shower curtain EV suits), the instrument that Spock is using to evaluate the situation the planet looks suspiciously like a Kenner "Give-A-Show Projector," a child' slide projector that was a big thing in the early 60s.

    The episode Samaritan Snare has a AN/PRT-5 Emergency Transmitter from a NAVY P-3 as a prop, I used to repair and test the AN/PRT-5 in the Navy so it was very funny to see it as a prop on the Pakled ship.

    This was a fun video. I remember years ago, recognising a prop in Star Trek NG. I liked to decorate eggs N in sick bay I saw clear plastic egg stands (my favorite) stacked up on a lighted display. They were petal shaped (very futuristic)! 😊💖🖖

    There was another prop that got reused for another show. In the ST-TOS episode(s) "The Menagerie", Captain Christopher Pike needs a futuristic wheelchair to get around. This prop was also used in series "Wild Wild West", which ran from 1965 to 1969.

    Going the other way, a Klingon bat'leth was used in the Stargate SG-1 season 6 episode, "The Other Guys", where it hung on a wall behind an undercover Tok'ra.

    Actually, Horta Eggs looks very similar to some sedimentary rocks. And because the race are made from silicon all instruments will see this eggs as strange sedimentary rocks, but rocks nonetheless.

    Several Star Trek series have used commercially available Star Trek merchandise as props and set dressings on the actual show, including the Enterprise kit in "The Doomsday Machine" and "The Trouble with Tribbles," and Mirror Archer's phaser in "In a Mirror Darkly."

    The 3D printers in Picard were so jarring! Fair enough to use the cases but seeing parts materialise from thin air, right next to the FDM extrusion mechanism was jarringly lazy! Head canon for the Flashforge on Mars was an engineer with a retro hobby. But the one on La Sirena... it's just plonked there with its logo covered!

    on the "Alien" franchise, I believe IDW was going to do a Star Trek / ALIENS crossover comic-book series, unfortunately for some reason, it didn't go into production but there are incomplete drawings online.

    It took almost 50 years, but I finally recognized one of the set dressings from the corridors in TOS: It's a coupling knuckle from a locomotive or one of it's cars, likely vacuum molded plastic as those things would be too heavy to hang from the walls.

    I haven't checked if anyone else pointed this out, but, the TRIBBLE has a similar and funny story about being an innocuous car/truck mirror decoration and keychain thing. But after being purchased by the truck loads, and used in the episode, "THE TROUBLE WITH TRIBBLES", TV & MOVIE HISTORY, was forever changed.

    I think I saw a gadget that looked like a car steering wheel lock clamp thing - a couple of feet long and probably yellow and grey. Was that in a TNG episode or one of the movies? I think Picard was holding it. It's a vague memory that might be mistaken?!

    Some of the strange electronic things and components I found amongst my Dad's stuff could have been props for something - maybe more like Doctor Who than Star Trek!
    It's a shame I took a load of boxes with knobs and dials on to the tip. Some of them might have sold on ebay. At least I sold a few smaller ones!

    Sent to the Nexus? Granted the choice was either follow Tolian Soran into the energy ribbon or get blown to atoms by the Level 12 shockwave, but being "sent" is not a way I would describe it.
