Lewis Jones was actually the Welsh chap who founded Trelew in 1886 (Trelew = Lewis Town in Welsh), a larger town about an hour's drive to the south of Puerto Madryn. Most Chubut Province towns and cities have a street named after him. Cheers from Patagonia!
The whole province was settled by Welsh migrants in the latter half of the 19th century. Puerto Madryn was actually where the first Welsh settlers landed, but over time it’s become more of a tourist spot and, unfortunately, lost quite a bit of its Welsh heritage. In contrast, places like Trelew and Gaiman, just an hour’s drive away, have managed to keep the Welsh culture alive much better. Hope you had a lovely stay! Cheers from Patagonia!
It's fantastic to hear that you and your husband are enjoying our series! We're glad our series resonates with your style of travel.
Es un lugar para visitar cuando vienen las ballenas y para comer la torta galesa hay que ir a un pueblo cercano llamado Gayman , ahí hay casas de té. La princesa Diana ha visitado.
No wonder it was windy, you were getting into the rough portion of the cruise in that area of the world around that time. I read about the flooding that happened on board, not sure if you witnessed it. Anyhow still enjoying the journey with you, and now it appears I have only one more video to watch before I finally catch up!
I lived there 2 years, there is not much to do, I don’t remember ever hearing anything about wool, there is a place where you can get welsh tea with all the traditional pastries, but it opens at 5 pm, and I don’t think they open every day… also there is not much to school in the summer, I know from movies that in other countries parents send their kids to camps, so it’s kind of like that, but only during the day, kids are picked up in the afternoon when parents finish their 9-5
Just a correction there is the biggest Southamerican aluminum producer in town and then you have a strong fishing business then on third place you have tourism.
It's good that you enjoyed being in Puerto Madryn.
In my opinion, best vlog about he adventures of the ultimate cruise.
Ditto ❤
Wow, thank you so much for such high praise! We're absolutely thrilled to hear that !
We walked around town too and came across a street named Lewis Jones, our neighbour across the street IS Lewis Jones, small world. Loved That port.

Sometimes it's the small, unexpected things that make travel experiences more memorable
in markets an some bars is normal to sell beer in 1 litre bottle
Thanks for the video! It’s beautiful out there.
You're very welcome, and thank you for your kind words!
Para probar la torta galesa hay que ir a un pueblo llamado Gayman . La princesa Diana ha visitado el lugar.
Another fantastic video! Loving it. Getting a real good glimpse at the port stops.

You manage to make a stop without too much to see, a fun stop.
Thank you for that wonderful compliment! We believe that every stop has its own unique charm and potential for adventure.

MI CIUDAD AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Love the details you provide like prices and why you didn’t go to see the penguins. Those were questions I was wondering about and you answered them!
Thanks for watching and for your supportive comment! 🐧💡🎥

Sounds like you know Puerto Madryn pretty well! Thanks for sharing your insights!
Loved the size of that Stella
We did enjoy the size and the ice bucket was the top!

Thanks for the info! We appreciate the correction and learning more about the local economy.
Could anyone do the tango from True Lies? 😆
The tango scene from 'True Lies' is iconic and sets quite a high bar.
