Eddie's content is fire, he's a dope vlogger. By the way that Jackson dude is definitely not South African. I know you can't tell the difference, but he's got a Zimbabwean accent. Cape Town has a lot of tour guides fronting as South Africans. A South African will give you a more authentic history of the country because we lived through these experiences, some of these other guides from outside only know our history theoretically.

@@MosesMatsepane Yohh, I can tell. The last 6 uber drivers I had were all from Zimbabwe… yoh, and I’m pissed because one of them gave me a low rating for no apparent reason 😂 and demanded a tip. If you know how uber works, he chose to do uber go while driving a truck and was like “I should cancel” as soon as i hoped in the truck because he said uber pays less for uber go. Sir, you could have chose uber XL or cancelled the trip if you knew you didn’t want to do uber go for example.

@@jacksonmpala7870 You are overreacting due to inherent insecurities that some of you guys have. You are the one with an inferiority complex, pretending to be South African while you are not. I was not insulting you. I hold firm views that only South Africans, or at least people who grew up in South Africa should give guided tours at our historical sites. You guys always resort to calling us names when we have strong opinions about our country.

@@TatsyanasTravels Tatsyana, I am sorry that you are caught in the crossfire. I am going to delete this comment because Jackson took it the wrong way. South Africans have strong opinions and we are extremely patriotic. As a result we are often accused of being Afro-phobic, Xenophobic and Self-hating by other Africans. You will learn that in your travels here.

Just found your channel this evening and decided to watch since I plan on moving to SA this year ((hopefully)) I thought it would be cool to reach out because I am currently residing in Mississippi from California ❤ what part are you from? I am on the Gulf Coast - close to the Beaches & Casinos. I also aspired to become an RN, ((currently RMA)) but those plans fell through 😢 anywho, I don’t really hear a Deep South southern accent from you though 😂 37:12

Its a fact South Africa is the richest country on the African continent and this is not a slight against mother Africa and this should not be a surprise at all. The global economic system is such that there are Economic centres such as the West and countries that are peripheries (underdeveloped and developing countries). One important characteristic of economic centre is that there is a concentration of capital in these economic centres. At the same time you have a centre within peripheral economies. South Africa is a centre within a periphery. That is why we have the biggest concentration of capital on the continent. Our GDP is number 1 on the continent and we boast the largest pension fund in Africa. South Africa is classified as a middle income country with a GDP ranking of 41 globally - even better than some European countries. Our private sector is massive relative to the continent and it is our saving grace in the face of a corrupt and incompetent political elite. Whilst South Africa's wealth is concentrated in Gauteng and Western Cape, the level of economic development around the country is still good. Lastly, South Africa was actually a nuclear power before the democratic Government voluntarily to discontinue our nuclear program.

Dont be shocked almost everyone you meet is from Zimbabwe. According to estimates, there is over 5 million Zimbabweans in SA, 90% of them illegal in the republic. Thats 35% of Zim population living and working in SA. Unfortunately Zimbabwe economy has not been doing well for the past 20yrs. As a result, majority of Zimbabweans have migrated to SA looking for greener pasture. They end up clashing with local fighting for job opportunities. The employers tend to higher them at low salary, that leaves South africans jobless while foreigners are all working for low salary. As a result, Zimbabweans dont get along with south africans even when they work in their own country.
