    thanks alot for the explenation, just one question though, how do you calculate the three remaining subnet addresses ?

    Thanks for this video! It helped me understand the division. But how to get the 2 and the rest net adresses?

    This helped a lot :D Thanks for the clear explanation!

    Why do you make things longer & confusing especially in the last example.
    The adm wanted 30 subnets and the CIDR is /24 therefore you'll have just to borrow bits from the remaining 8 hosts bits. If I borrow 5 bits the number of subnets will be:
    2^5=32 which is a little bit greater than 30 subnets asked.
    The new CIDR is /29 =(24+5)

    I don't know if anyone would respond but let's say i have an ip address of 180.100.0.0 and i needed to divide it into 25 equal-sized subnets yet i was not given a netmask

      180.100.0.0 , Divide into two part
      180.100 --> network side
      0.0 --> Host side
      180.100 --> /16

      i guess net mask might be 16

    At 3:38 you made a big mistake and I doubt if you know how to apply logarithm.
    What you should say is : To which power should I raise 2 to get 4 . The answer is 2 because 4=2^2 and since we are using log of base 2 log4=log(2^2)=2

    Q.1 - how to identify network and host id for each of this IP address and SUBNET mask below?can anyone give me the answer with working solution? TQ may god reward all of you.
    (1) 116.27.123.32 255.255.0.0
    (2) 168.174.9.63 255.255.128.0
    (3) 147.125.177.12 255.240.0.0
    Q.2 - how to divide the address range 172.72.64.0/19 into 3 equally subnet mask?
    (A) what will the new subnet mask be?
    (B) how many usable host address will be on each subnet?
    (C) what will the network address?
    (D) what will be the broadcast adrress?

    This lesson is designed for HS math classes but those students have no background in math.

    Poor explanation! How do determine the ranges of each subnetwork!? It leaves so many unclear and open questions!

    I have a feeling this solution is wrong

    I appreciated the effort but This is too complicated, not everyone have the math level to understand this method : you got logarithm............................
