I remember back in the day as a young man watching the local authorities clear out homeless encampments and I was naively shocked and I thought that was the end of that, well it's 2024 nothing has changed.
I wish Santa Cruz would do this, we have shit all over the sidewalks and the levee that runs along the san lorenzo river in to the ocean. The city lets them live by the river and all their junk is down there, fires have been started, burn scares all over, a lifeguard tower was set on fire a couple days ago. This town does everything to NOT address this ONGOING PROBLEM, they just coddel it and take the money. I feel for some of them and they do need help but most of the time it's drug use insanity and they want to live like this...choices right? This town needs a massive cleaning, they don't powerwash anything and no street sweepers just nasty! One of the most expensive places to live and looks terrible. Thank you for documenting this.

If they would have kept up a regularly check up of the beach then they wouldn't have to do so much drama but this only happens with something important coming and they don't want show that their beaches,parks,alleys or and hole was out of control and when it was over then the roaches came back to their holes.
