ummm, so you need two? cause he has one below and one above, if you only have one, the sound can still travel out the opposite side of the fan. im assuming the 70% reduction rating is with 2, probably more like 25% with one. This a guess, would love to know from someone who has them.

You need that part for it to be silent. If you don't have it your fan is as noisey as anything else. Mite be good if they sort there control panel out too. Mine had to be sent back it wouldn't even work the fan.
