Australian, in 1994 I was working short time in Jakarta, missing my wife and kids.
In Indonesian McDonalds, Cranberries was played, made me feel not so bad - a touch of home.
Thank you Dad for playing their songs when I was a kid. I was the luckiest kid in the world.

I was an abused child. Right around when this song was on the air. It makes me tear up because I always wanted the family she sings about. But now I can give that to my kids.
Yeah you can, youre a good parent, theyre lucky to have you as a parent ♡
Same. 🕊️🫶🏻 I get along with them now though. I think I inspire them actually.

God bless you for breaking your silence. I had to grieve the loss of the fantasy of the ideal family. What starts bitter ends sweet. The best is yet to come. ❤❤❤❤❤
It so nice to find comfort from a song this is for you dad ❤
It's my mom's favorite song and she even put this on her watch later. She enjoyed a lot of songs from The Cranberries and I grew up liking it too. My mom just passed away yesterday due to COVID19 and I hope she could still listen to this song wherever she is. I hope she's happier and in a much better place.
She's watching you, and I'm sure she is proud. Wishing all the best to you in these hard times
I'm really sorry.. Mine also passed away in last June, 24.... Alzheimer's complications ... I miss her a lot.. Very difficult.
i am so sorry i hope listening to this song makes you feel better
she's a strong woman!!
My condolences to you, Aunelia for the loss of your mom to Covid-19. I lost my mom to Covid-19, too, June 12, 2020. Luckily, I had a really good talk with her on 4/21/20, a few weeks before she got the virus and went into the hospital. I will always remember that last conversation with my beautiful mom. Anyway, this is a beautiful song. So sad Dolores is gone. Too young. Only 46 years old when she passed.
April 2024, this song brings back memories when I first heard it.. ❤
Still listening to her lovely voice. I used to commute to university listening to Doroles and The Cranberries all day. Rest in peace our heavenly Muse.
This is my favorite video of Dolores . I first heard her in the early 90s. Loved the way she sang. Was in my 40s then. Now Im 73 and I can appreciate how swiftly life passes.
And now this song makes me cry and miss my family, who have all passed on . Enjoy your family while you have it . And live life all you can . Thank you, Dolores, for your beautiful songs . RIP .
What a gift you gave the world Dolores.
Wow.. that's really nostalgia

She was the reason I fell in love with the Irish culture. Was lucky enough to see their concert becuase I was gifted some tickets. Still have the concert tshirt. What a beutiful song that till this day makes me cry to listen to. Makes me think of my life. Very powerful. Thank you Cranberries.

"My Mother... My Mother... She'd hold me... She'd hold me, when I was out there... " I always tear up at that part. For years I suffered in the unrelenting darkness, that is addiction. My own mother never gave up on me; even during the times I had given up on myself. Glad to say I'm now 7 years sober. Thanks Mom, & Dad for carrying me when I was too weak to walk on my own. I'm a strong man. I raised a family, took care of my elderly mom and help my grandchildren. And, I still work a 40 week. Why do my eyes well-up everytime I hear this girl sing. From riding in my work truck and heard the song Linger played the first time till today. She touches something so deep I didn't even know it was there.

Ode To My Family
Understand the things I say
Don't turn away from me
'Cause I spent half my life out there
You wouldn't disagree
D'you see me, d'you see?
Do you like me, do you like me standing there?
D'you notice, d'you know?
Do you see me, do you see me?
Does anyone care?
Unhappiness, where's when I was young
And we didn't give a damn?
'Cause we were raised
To see life as fun and take it if we can
My mother, my mother, she hold me
Did she hold me when I was out there?
My father, my father, he liked me
Oh, he liked me, does anyone care?
Understand what I've become
It wasn't my design
And people everywhere think
Something better than I am
But I miss you, I miss 'cause I liked it
'Cause I liked it when I was out there
D'you know this, d'you know?
You did not find me, you did not find
Does anyone care?
Unhappiness, was when I was young
And we didn't give a damn?
'Cause we were raised
To see life as fun and take it if we can
My mother, my mother, she hold me
Did she hold me when I was out there?
My father, my father, he liked me
Oh, he liked me, does anyone care?
Does anyone care? Does anyone care?
Does anyone care? Does anyone care?
Does anyone care? Does anyone care?

I actually can't listen to this without crying. Dolores is the patron saint of Limerick. Growing up in Limerick and getting into music, The Cranberries were the proof that it was capable to come from Limerick as an alternative band and be successful. I have been lucky enough to have met Dolores & Fergal and spend time with them and they were beyond kind to me. She is truly missed & their legacy and impact on Irish music [and especially around Limerick] will never be forgotten. Happy Patricks Day 2021.

I am 42 years old , i grew up listing to you're beautiful voice , you got me through some very hard and sometimes lonely nights , the 90s to me were the best times of my life , there was so much honesty in music and my dear Dolores you were right up there , yesterday when i heard that you left us , i was just in utter shock , i was sitting in my living room with my oldest daughter next to me , i could not believe it , i did not want to believe that you left us , but as soon as it actually hit me , a couple of tears fell from my eyes , my daughter knowing how much i love your music and you she reached out and held my hand , she did not say a word but in that moment she knew what we have lost ...we sat there together as we listened to Dreams ...and even that moment that you gave me with my daughter i thank you my Dolores ...i will so miss you and you will always in a special way be with all of us 90s kids ..we love you Dolores . So deep words....
A day before Dolores passed away I told my daughter that I was near her age when first time saw zombie clip on tv. And how much I was impressed with her voice.
It was very stressful news
Many nights as a 90's teenager playing this on my cassette player.....
I feel your pain brother...🖤 you are not alone in your grief.
yes it is . i just cant believe she's gone .
a good example of how a song as personal as this one, we can all feel and enjoy it
There will never be another voice like hers
It breaks my heart still to listen to this song. Knowing the life she lived, the things she endured. There’s so much more context to these. She had a voice like a violin, extraordinary. Delores was also my friend. There’s much in her music not everyone hears. I hope you found that quiet empty cathedral to find peace on the other side. I miss you. 💔
Yeah.. whenever a Cranberries song is played on a radio, I remember Dolores O'Riordan... She is DEEPLY MISSED 😔🙏🏻🙏🏻
She held our hands when we were teenagers and have us a future
Yep, and it’s never worth a mention in a place like this. It’s wasted on most people. It’s very basic in expression. Maybe you had to experience similar to understand. It’s sad.

I´m still missing you Dolores.
Everybody cared or cares and is caring, perhaps you cared too much, and we need it now. Miss your voice and music.
Her voice is so soothing, yet haunting, now more than ever.
Very true soothing yet in angst a bit like freddy mercury
Who else came here to remember and appreciate Dolores? All these songs are from my 90's childhood

Not from my childhood, I was a lost young mother.

Magic moment all these years later. I'm sat with my 4 year old daughter in Yorkshire showing her her Great granda 3 mins in Larboy.. I remember following them round our area with me Da filming this. Memories to last a life time 🇮🇪☘️💛
Thank you very much. Your beautiful voice and band family have always sounded powerfully meaningful and sacred❤

I have been estranged from my family for 3 1/2 years. I LOVE my family so much and want to hold my mother & father in my arms again. I've been strong all this time, but when I heard this song, I kinda lost it. Pray for my family please.
+Stephen Troup It's never too late to go home. That's something my mom and dad always tell me, and now I'm telling you. It's never too late to tell the people you love that you care about them. I don't know you, and I don't know your story, but whatever is keeping you and your family apart, in the grand scheme of things, it's probably smaller than you think it is.
+Regina Reynolds I appreciate all your words. I've done all those things and continue to. The problem is on the other end. I'll keep trying & hoping, always.
Best of luck to you.
Stephen Troup
Best of luck to you.
+Stephen Troup It's been 8 years since I have hugged my Mother or even spoken to her and I love her so dearly but, like you it is on that end that the separation has continued. It hurts and I know how hard it is. Stay strong and know that you're not the only one separated from your loved ones. It is so hard I know. Best of luck.
one of song when i heard it... it feel like my step father and my real blood father that passed over 15 years ago beside me... really miss them so much...😢
