Lol, we have one, what many of you do not know is I am disabled, I have bone tumors in both legs and a 20” rod, 4” spike and a few screws in my left femur, So kneeling down and/or squatting is much more comfortable many of the time compared to standing all the time. 😁👍
Love that color. I did my gf's ar15 in illusion purple with a satin clear over the top when I built it for her. She loved it. The coolest part to me was watching through the window in my oven when it wetted out and turned the chrome looking silver color, and then watching it turn from the silver to the purple as the clear top coat wetted out.
@ I live in South Florida basically on top of a rock so I put two rods about 3 feet down side-by-side clamped it also did the water on it to help ground.. with a clamp going up to the parts, I also use the ground off the back of the machine
Is it so smart to powder coat parts like this? special aluminium engine parts. I did see a heat test from coated engine parts and the loos up to -30% in cool down efficion :O They are made pure metall for a reason ? Thanks for reply
@@710performance Well there is no issue's , only the drop in performance due to heat replacement in the part. But anyways, great video and work !! :) thanks for commenting!! i'm about to start powder coating as well, and followed you some time now.
Just waited a long time and had a bunch of anxiety about having a high dollar item powder coated with Prismatic powder. Ordered the swatches, made my choice,(Illusion Cinnamon) the part finally got painted and came out TOTALLY the wrong color. Now I'm screwed with a HORRIBLE looking color. Had I known it takes wizardry and odds resembling the Powerball lottery to get the correct color................so frustrated, defeated, angry, displeased, disappointed.

Right on! It's one of our favorites too!
Don you remember what settings you used to apply the clear?
56 kV and 80 uA
@ that didn’t work for my trailer hitch I’m doing I keep getting those little spots
@ every piece and every system will be different. How good is your ground?

@@710performance I also used a chipping hammer with the rebar attachment to drive it down into the ground. It just wouldn’t go anymore.
I can’t wait to meet you and have you do some of my stuff!!
Thank You! Just let us know when you're read!
Do you let it cool down between the base coat and top clear?
Yessir
Sometimes we will shoot warm, but not always
Turned out awesome! Where did you get the silver flake and about what ratio did you mix with the clear?
Thank you! We purchased the flake from Columbia Coatings. It says in the bottle 1/4 oz is good for up to 3 lbs. we used it in two lbs.
When you take a part out after flowout and top coat what cure time do you go by the time for the base coat or the time for the top coat?
The cure time for the top coat.
@@710performance ok thanks
@@TheBowers647 NP! Thank you for your support!
Where are you located at.. I want to get a lift kit coated that color

Was coating the lifter valley a good idea? Just asking.
We've never had a problem with it before.

@@negueba235689 awesome to hear! Good luck on your venture!
What parts would you suggest that a new powder coater can do?
It really depends on what system you're using, how big your oven is an how big your shop is. It will also depend on what form of prep you are using.
@@710performance Eastwood dual voltage household oven prep I don’t know weather it be some sort of chemical or sand blasting
@@kylemeyers9130 pretty much any single stage work that can fit in your oven
