Sassy Visits The Local Stables For A Horse Assessment!

'Sassy's trip to Elmwood Equestrian Centre! 🐎
What a little star she is, she took everything in her stride as soon as she arrived!
🐴 She wasn't phased by the sight of horses behind their fence or walking past with their riders. Her behaviourist Lucy wanted to see how she would feel if she was picked up whilst her handler stroked a horse, in case her future adopter ever did so. Sassy was a bit more reserved when they were up close and personal but didn't panic.
🐱 We know she used to live with cats, she had a great little interaction with one who lives on the yard and she was very respectful and sweet
🐔 At Sassy's foster home there are chickens and when she arrived there she wanted to charge around the perimeter of their enclosure chasing them. Lucy has been using positive reinforment methods to help her learn that they are friends and it has paid off! Sassy was inquisitive towards the ducks, geese and chickens at the stables but was much calmer in their presence. You'll see in this video diary that one flapped and sped past her and our canine care coordinator who was filming jumped more than she did 😆
We are so proud of Sassy and so grateful to Pat Charlton and everyone at Elmwood for having us. We also really appreciate her behaviourist Lucy's time, input and all of the voluntary hours going Sassy's care.
