Relatively new subscriber here 👋Love what u are doing and I've already got some hints and tips plus alternative ideas from u so thank you Eli. Have ordered the quad grow as I'd like to compare it to the hozelock grow bag waterer. Sowed cucumber and pepper seeds in the greenhouse yesterday. I grow veg in the greenhouse, tatties in raised beds and pots plus lots of flowers. I'm hoping to get ahead this year. I'm further north than you in Elgin, so you know the battle we have every year, but mother nature will not win this year! (well not in my mind 😂) xx
Started two types of tomatoes, two types of peppers, cucumbers and strawberries all from seed today after finally getting my new greenhouse built and ready! Now the anxious wait to see if the seeds take! 😬
Hi Eli and Kate hope you are safe and well. This is my completion entry. I Live in Ayr Scotland and last year I decided to start to help my local community by donating fruit and veg to local food banks. The money would truly mean the world as I would spend it on better equipment. Thank you Eli stay safe
I'm in Leeds, this is my 2nd year growing things, and will be growing things in my greenhouse, raised beds and pots around the garden with my 2 daughters. I would spend the winnings on some covers for my raised bed to stop the birds and squirrels attacking.
I'm in Northampton I have never had a garden until November last year (I'm 58 😬) I now have a small green house and have built raised beds, every thing I do is trial and error but I'm absolutely loving it. So every little purchase is helping my learning curve grow 😊
I have started my peas in deep trainers in poly tunnel so fingers crossed. So nice to see green grass and no more snow ❄️. As always 🐝 safe and stay gardening 🇨🇦✌️🌶🥬🥕💐
Hello Eli and Kate. I love watching your gardening videos they really make me smile. This is my competition entry, I have been watching your videos for a long time and last year being in lockdown I decided to buy a plot so I could grow my own and also help the community. The money would really help buy some raised beds to stop the snails eating my crops. keep up the good work.
Will I completely disappoint you if I tell you that raised beds in themselves won't stop the slugs and snails :( In fact some people think it actually makes it worse as it gives them a place to live (between the sides of the bed and the soil. Whole big conversation there.
Hi all, I'm up in Peterhead, the most North Easterly part of Scotland, just got a Greenhouse, because last year the missus told me off for all the Tomato plants on the kitchen windowsill 😂, will be using that and some raised beds for strawberries and other veg. Always learning something new with Eli and Kate, and can relate to her " four seasons in a day" 😂, I'd spend my voucher on some plant support stuff, trying my hand at sweat peas this year.
I’m in Tamworth I grown in raised beds I made out of recycled pallet wood and also a compost bin made out of pallets, I also have a small plastic green house I use to harden off my plants, some propagators would be perfect and keep up the great videos Eli 😊
I have just got my garden after 10 years of living in flats. I am in Plymouth just on the edge of Dartmoor. The garden is a blank 10mx10m so I am super excited to get going. I have already done 16 winter sowi g bottles and the zinnia and cosmos are up already. Loved the video! As I have a blank canvas I would buy some protection for the precious seedlings and plants I have planned. Thank you for all your great videos. I love them. 😊🙏
Wonderful! We were the very same, this is our first garden after a lifetime in flats in the heart of the city. 10 by 10 is a great size, good luck with the wee seedlings :D
Once again a superb video for enthusiastic amateurs like myself. I have learned so much from watching them here in wilds of Oldbury, nr Birmingham. Like most of us, I wish I had more room and a larger greenhouse but get almost as much enjoyment by watching your garden take shape during the year. After this years failure, it would have to be a grow light garden and a new sieve. Thanks again for all your efforts.
My wife has had a wonderful (sunny) day in our back garden here in London doing a ton of prep. work. went up the garden centre yesterday was a total roadblock, is that time of year! Great to see your video, always inspiring and such wonderful presenting skills, thank you.
Hi guys! I'm in Fife, will be growing veg in containers. My garden is huge, but I decided to go for the container option as I sowed a lot of grass seed last year as it was too much work with constant weeding! Just waiting for my seed potatoes to arrive, cant wait, it's my first year growing veg. Also will be sowing flower seeds to and sharing them with my family. Loving the milk carton mini greenhouses, goes to show you don't need to buy expensive equipment!
Hey 👋 from Texas, brand new gardener here just getting all the information and ideas trying to learn. Hoping to get raised beds and a greenhouse as soon as possible 🤞🏼 Thanks for the videos, love your personality!🌺
I think we'd use a voucher towards a couple new quality tools, or one of their fire pits 😁. And wed probably share our purchase between our allotment and kitchen garden down here in Essex 💙💚
Hi, I'm from Kinross, Scotland and pottered around with gardening for years, nothing serious till last year Now - "I'm a gardener" and I love growing things, (with my dads help) my husband has just ordered me a glass greenhouse for my birthday and I'm counting the days till it comes, my wee plasticy ones keep blowing away, then i end up with a mound of soil, with weird plants that come up and I have to wait to see what they develop into. I would love a soil tray, table, closh, propigator, pots, seeds etc etc etc for my new Greenhouse Love your videos so encourgaing Fiona
Love your videos. I live in Lincolnshire and I’m a new gardener frightened of starting but need to make some raised beds as I’ll be sewing outside so i definitely need those frames which is what I’d spend my voucher on if I won. Thanks Eli and Kate 😘
Hi I live in the South Wales valleys and a beginner at growing from seeds. I have just sown some perennial seeds in trays placed in plastic ziplock bags. They’re currently on our dining table. If I won a voucher I would put it towards a propogator. I’m really enjoying watching your videos and learning so much so thanks for sharing.
Hi I’m in Milton Keynes! After finding your channel and watching your super videos, I’ve brought a HotBin, steaming well after a week, and ordered the hoop kit and some Quadgrows. My bank balance has taken a hammering so a voucher to buy a couple of new quality tools to replace my pound shop ones would be a real bonus! Thanks
I’m in Leigh, between Wigan and Manchester. I have hundreds of plants, flowers, fruit, vegetables and trees in my tiny back yard. I would probably spend voucher on some compost for my Grow Your Mind community allotment! X
Hi there Eli & Kate! I live in Surrey, and will be growing in my greenhouse, raised beds and garden borders. I would use a voucher with Quickcrop to make a decent start on staple items that I can use every year - cloches, roottrainers and a big propagator are high on my list! Here's hoping my wallet catches a break! 🤣
Banchory, Aberdeenshire. I grow in my green house and containers about the garden, saving up to make some raised beds in the garden that the dogs can’t get into!
We're in Oxfordshire and my partner is just now out in the garden trying to reconstruct from memory the polycarbonate greenhouse we got for £20 on Gumtree last month as we started our allotment last year at the start of lockdown. A lot of head-scratching going on! I would love to buy the blue hoopy things for this year's peas as last year's improvised version was a nightmare to weed as it was so low I couldn't get under it except by lying down! Great videos - really glad I found your channel today!
oh I remember that game... I have photos of Kate almost in tears trying to build ours Lots of tea and biscuits and tonight, a wee medicinal tipple will go down well.. They are going to be sore. 😁
growing in north coast Northern Ireland thank goodness for your vids during this lockdown love them and your blog love following you on Facebook you keep everything so simple and easy to understand and make it so enjoyable think i would buy some stuff for my new greenhouse if i was so lucky to win please keep up the good work cant wait to next vid thank you
Another brilliant video, Eli and Kate. I absolutely love the way you make everything so clear and easy to follow. Fantastic giveaway too. I'm getting raised beds in 2 weeks and my greenhouse will be arriving in my North Wales garden next month. If I was lucky enough to be picked for a voucher, I'd buy the equipment for the raised bed hoops as,after watching that video of you making them, I was planning to buy some. That would free up some cash for the sunflower seeds in this video 😀. Thanks, and good luck everyone xx
Good morning! Love your video's, I've learned so much so thank you. I live in Crewe, Cheshire and I grow vegetables and flowers in my garden. If I was fortunate enough to win the vouchers I would buy some tools to help successfully grow better crops. Thankyou once again for this amazing opportunity.
I live in Cramlington, Northumberland. I would love these vouchers as I am getting a new greenhouse in early April. It would be good as I need some raised beds and some over stuff :)
Im in Bristol, just started gardning during the lockdown. Just bought a propagator and ordered a green house. Just started sowing seeds but need much more equipment to get going . Learnt a lot from you up to now, keep up the good work.
New greenhouse excitement. When is it arriving? I'm assuming you've already seen the greenhouse playlists but just in case... it might be worth grabbing a cuppa and sitting with these two. That way you get to go through the journey with me when I got my greenhouse and see all the brilliant stuff to come and all the things to thinking about :) Setting up your new greenhouse: th-cam.com/play/PLjhUBZdMh-4kYC4OV1J6vChfrGXnhKr5X.html Greenhouse gardening: th-cam.com/play/PLjhUBZdMh-4mxGbs3hx2622MdqAVRPn0B.html
In sunny Plymouth. Just finishing digging out a few beds in preparation for planting and those hoops look ideal for stopping the squirrels nicking our strawberries like they did last year.
Hi Eli and Kate, so excited to be able to enter one of your Giveaways - I'm usually too late! I'm on The Wirral with a small paved back garden and a greenhouse due to be delivered on 2nd April. No room for a raised bed so if I were lucky enough to win one of QuickCrop's vouchers I'd put it towards one of their VegTrugs. I've never grown from seed before but this year I'm giving it a go with tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, potatoes, melon, strawberries, lettuce and various herbs. Seeds are currently in spare bedroom in propagators, sown about 10 days ago and I've got seedlings!!! Yay! Looking forward to moving things across to my greenhouse when it arrives.
Hi. We're in Southside Glasgow. We're finishing our first raised bed and I'm excited to be growing peas and runner beans this year for the first time. We would love to buy a hooped cover like yours because I'm worried what the pigeons and squirrels will do to any little plants!! Thank you so much for all your helpful videos it's kept me sane while being home for a year while pregnant then with a baby as well a getting us informed and excited for our first proper growing season. Can't wait to watch more of you both. Thank you!
I am in Bedfordshire and will be growing in my greenhouse (tomatoes and chilis) and flowers in my garden. I am working on getting my greenhouse set up to get seeds planted that I can put outside. Love your videos. I've learned so much already
Sounds wonderful! Not sure if you'd realised or if this is of any use, but I put together a couple of greenhouse playlists that might be worth grabbing a cuppa and sitting down to watch.
@@eliandkate thanks so much. I've been binge watching your videos since my husband bought me my 1st greenhouse a couple of months ago. I even bubble wrapped the inside. Now on to sewing spring seeds x
Have enjoyed the learning experience from The Kitchen Garden with Eli & Kate. Sterilised some soil yesterday which I've never done before nor have I used perlite but will do so after your tutorial on the subject.( Waiting for a particular shop to get it back in stock). Must admit, I have used the milk carton cover but this is mainly for slug protection rather than warmth. Did it last year for broccoli but was miffed to say the least when discovered a slug had crawled up to the top of the carton and gained access. Plant was decimated! I live in Banchory and would use the voucher towards a raised bed I think or the tubes that are on your own beds.
Hi Eli! Birmingham here! And me being me I would go for tomato crop booster frame and cover! 🥴 me and the tomatoes eh! 🤣 all the best with the season ahead! And as always, another fabby instalment! 😁👍🏼
The Kitchen Garden with Eli and Kate just saw my original comment had posted (phone troubles!) so have removed it and left this one! 🤣 The flooring of greenhouse just paving slabs 👍🏼
Perfect timing....I’ve been watching your videos loads this last week before I built our first greenhouse this weekend. Now it’s up I was wondering what to do next.....hey presto. Love your channel- great videos, really well explained. Thank you.
oh new greenhouse excitement. It might be worth grabbing a cuppa and sitting with these two playlists. I live in a wet and windy Newcastle upon Tyne and just started some brassicas in my greenhouse. I'd love to get some brassica cages to stop those pesky cabbage white butterflies and pigeons getting to my cauliflowers. Live the videos, keep up the good work . PS: I've got no idea why I'm called the Frustrated Gardener,, my 8 year old nephew has been messing on with my phone settings again lol!!
So glad I have found your channel, we will be getting a greenhouse in the next couple of weeks and you helpful tips are great , we are also in Scotland thanks .
I am in Wrexham and going into my second year of my kitchen garden. I would love to spend vouchers on a kneeling pad and cloches to be honest anything and anything. So love your channel and your greenhouse (one day I will get one ) 😃
Hi I garden in Norfolk not far from where your “Olive” came from. In the process of finishing putting up our greenhouse. I would put the voucher towards a heated propagator as I am using my cats heated bed for my seedlings. Alice kitty is not amused and I don’t think the seeds or too happy either. Need all the help I can get. Thanks to all your videos I am gaining in confidence and getting there🤪😁🙋🏻 keep up the good work.
Hi Eli and Kate, Well this channel has always been good but I reckon it's getting better video by video, You already know where I'm from and what I have to grow in, keep up the good work and I'll catch you on the next one.
I found it! I’m the “know it all” trying to tell a professional grower like you when I stumbled across something new…(water jug winter sowing) Ha! It’s only NEW to ME but everyone else has been doing for years. Sorry Eli. I’ll do a better job of checking. Is there anything you can’t do or don’t know about? I personally can’t find it. Thank you for guiding a less than novice like me thru the process of growing plants. Simply The Best!
Ach not at all…. It’s a very new thing in the UK and we only heard about it from TH-cam….. there’s a lot of things folk do now because they are copying the US from TH-cam. I tried it that one year but wasn’t impressed 🥲
Hi Kate and Eli, I’m from Musselburgh in Scotland. I love the frames you have made for your plots so I would use the vouchers to build something similar for my plot at my allotment. Keep the videos coming, they are much appreciated 👍🥦🥬🥕🍅
The Kitchen Garden with Eli and Kate There’s allotments in Musselburgh at the back of Lewisvale park. There’s a 10 year waiting list so I have some years to go before I can get one there. My allotment is out by Ormiston. It’s called Station Gardens 😃
Hm? I live in Redding, California, which is a town, somewhere between Glasgow and Eureka, California. So, it looks as though I’m a bit too far away from the action. However, good luck to the the rest of you guys. Geeze, a hundred £ is like a hundred and fifty dollars over here in the in-between. You can buy lots of strawberry plants with that much bread.
Hi Ely,I live in Edinburgh and if I won I would use the voucher to by as much compost as I could because I've just took on a new allotment and I'm going no dig(ounce I've got rid of all the nasty weeds).Keep up the entertaining Video's.
I would 100,00,00,00,00% recommend you get going with your own compost piles. No dig needs A LOT of compost and it can be crazy expensive, especially an allotment. When we first got our garden going, we spent hundreds of pounds on cheap compost from B and Q and quickly realised we couldn't afford to do that every year. Not sure how you are set physically, I struggled with standard piles (the turning was too much for me), but I've found that some of the new bins and turners are pretty good and much less physical effort.
Hi Eli and Kate, I only grew flowers until last year but now I'm hooked on veg growing as well, thanks to channels like yours. I live in South Tyneside brrrrr!!!!! and would love to buy some root trainers like the ones you have. I used the milk bottle method to grow cosmos last year and it worked a treat :-) Thank you for hosting the very generous giveaway. Avis
Love watching your videos so much you’ve really inspired me to buy a greenhouse and get planting! We live in epworth, a little village in the Isle of Axholme in North Lincolnshire. As I’m pretty new to it all and still learning lots I would love to put the voucher towards one of their vegtrug raised planters as years of nursing have not been kind to the old back! Keeping my fingers crossed! Love your videos, keep posting! Michelle x
I'll be growing in Norfolk and I would love to put the vouchers towards planters or maybe covers for my raised beds as I have moved to a new house and I am starting with a blank canvas. Love your tutorials and I'm learning so much.
a blank canvas is always soooo exciting The problem I have these days is that any new ideas get put down because t would destroy something we have already got going :(
oh those are popular secateurs - I went for Niwaki but I'm not sure if they are any better or not. One of those things, you'd need to be able to try them all 😂😂😂
I'm growing up in the North East of Scotland, Moray. So far in my greenhouse, I've got some lettuce, leeks, onions, and all my Brassicas on the go. Inside I've just started my Tomatoes, cucumbers & courgettes (I grow these undercover as courgettes absolutely hate the windy weather up here). I recently used your 10% discount code on Quickcrop, to buy some raised beds (thanks btw). I'd use the 50 quid voucher to buy some more :) or perhaps some hoop covers. BTW, their premier raised beds are great.
Hello I live in Gloucester, I managed to get an allotment in September so this is my first growing season. I need some blue hoops to cover up brassicas. Love your videos you have taught me a lot. Will be making your potting mix this week to get my self going. X
Drumnadrochit, near Loch Ness. I think I would like to buy some bird feeding kit and maybe a few cloches. Loving your videos - I was just thinking about getting my peas started this week - they always have to be started in the green house otherwise the bally mice steal them all!
Hi Eli! Hi Kate! Loving your vids as usual. I'm quite new to gardening so I've been watching and learning a lot. I had the frustration of ALL of last summer's efforts being eaten by the slugs & snails. I've been saving all my milk jugs and am going to get my earlies out this week under the jugs in the hope the molluscs won't find them. Yeah yeah about Kent being the tropics. It's 1degree here at the mo. The potatoes I put out last week might not survive. If I won the voucher I would definitely go for some polytunnel components plus frost cloth and slug nematodes!
I'm in Zummerset :) What a great giveaway - I'm just getting into gardening and this will be my first year of veggie gardening. I was planning on ordering a greenhouse but the crazy long lead times means the growing season would be over before it arrived so I've managed to pick up a 2nd hand bargain from a local site and would use the vouchers to buy some basic planting items :)
Hi Eli and Kate I love your videos and look forward them every week. 😊 I live in Wiltshire and will be growing Tomatoes, Peppers, Cucumbers & Aubergines in my newish Greenhouse. Will be using my Quadgrow for the first time so super excited to get growing. If I were to win I would invest in a raised bed cover.
Hi online Essex, I've just sown some sunflower seeds in my greenhouse. I love the milk bottle idea! I would spend the voucher on more pots probably! Fingers crossed
Hi, I’m in Hull, Yorkshire. I’ve started some raised beds in my garden. I would use the vouchers for raised bed covers or something to put strawberries in. Looking forward to the next videos.😁
I'll be growing in my brand new greenhouse this year just outside of Glasgow!! 😁 I've been looking into getting a water butt to collect water from the gutters of the greenhouse so the voucher would be perfect for something like that!
Hi Eli...great video, something for everyone! Here is my competition entry....i live in west london and i have a small garden right near avmain road that i grow flowers & veg in. If I won I would spend the voucher on either propogation supplies or plant supports. Good luck everyone 🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️
Hi Eli how are you ? This is my completion entry, I loved the video amazing I’ll be trying it this year I live in Glasgow, it would truly mean the world if I was to win because i am a new gardener and haven’t really been able to get out to look as I had COVID -19 in January I would buy some propagators and tools 🛠. Hope you enjoy the rest of the day regards Nicola.
I came across your channel by chance and enjoy watching it. You explain very well and is interesting to watch. I love how tidy your greenhouse and garden is. I am a new vegetable homegrown gardener and live in London but I do get overwhelmed at how much there is to grow but I am trying to germinate at least three items at a time with no grow lights but on my kitchen windowsill. If I win I would like to purchase the hooped cover like yours. Thanks🌻
if there is just one piece of advice I would give, from my experience over the last few years, it would 100% be Don't try to grow everything. It is too much and you just don't have the space. I say choose one or two things you eat and focus on them. Then the next year you could add a couple more etc Too many folk I see are trying to grow lots and lots and lots of the different varieties of things and in all honesty... it's better to focus on a small amount and get a good crop, than a small, unloved crop from lots of individual things. :D
I'm also from sunny Tamworth almost center of England. I have 1 bed in the garden around 7 by 2.5. Feet. 2 planters I built 🙏🤞myself around 1.3m long by 50cm wide and 45cm deep. Also several pots, buckets & tubs. I would use it for raised beds because I'm 4th on a list for an allotment.
Hello folks! Warrenpoint Co Down here so in the UK (just!). I’d buy a soil warming kit for a new propagation bench that I’m going to be making for next year.
Hi, I'm in Fife and in the third year of a new garden. Still a work in progress but I'm really enjoying it. I am going into my first season with my first ever greenhouse - so loads to learn. Vouchers would go towards greenhouse stuff - I have a list!
I really love this channel!! It’s my third year and I had to much info and conflicting info! Your style has brought me clarity and simplicity!! I sure often!!
Glad you are enjoying the channel….. Remember my biggest piece of advice…. Have fun and enjoy but don’t just trust what I say or do. Always ask why and wonder if it would work for you 😀😀😀 I’m just some weirdo on the internet remember 😀😀😀😀
Your left-field fun ideas do make me laugh sometimes. Planting milk bottles! What will you think of next! I'm in Sunny Swindon. I've checked out Quickcrop's website for heavy duty half-size seed trays but they don't have any at the moment. Great discount offer though - well done!
I'm from Peterborough and I'm relatively new to growing veg. I've only got a patio, so it would have to be planters. Love watching your videos. Keep up the good work.
Afternoon you two, I hope you are well. Its still very cold here in the Falkirk area and we have had frost this week. Therefore I have planted sown a lot of seeds and onion sets in the greenhouse to plant out later. When Im sowing peas, usually Alderman, I soak the seeds overnight and I find this gives a really good foundation for their growth time. What do I want / need to buy yet this season is new hoops for the veg beds. Stay safe girls ... atb Jim
@@eliandkate No, I use the hoops for insect mesh as I bring most plants on in the greenhouse so a mini polytunnel is not what I would use. Cold here ... well last night it was -1,3 in the greenhouse. All the "babies" are in there but under propagators and fleece. We have had three frosts recently. More are forecast but hey sonce when did the weather peeps get it right lol
I’m in sunny Bonnyrigg! Just bought some veg beds to get started for the first time, I’ll be growing all sorts carrots, turnips, potatoes etc, also got my first greenhouse so I’ll be growing tomatoes and cucumbers too!
Not in the UK...but that’s okay! Great video and experiments!! For the milk jugs you might want to remove the lids to keep it from overheating on sunny days and allow natural moisture in. At least a that how we do it here. Good luck!
Hi there, I’m in the Outer Hebrides and this is my 2nd year growing fruit and veg in our Polytunnel. I would buy some raised bed covers as this is our next project. I love your very helpful videos, stay safe
Hey Anne, congratulations on winning a quickcrop voucher :D Can you drop me an email from this email address (your google on you used to comment) and I'll pass your details to quick crop :D
Another cracking video Eli! :) All the best to you and Kate. We live in Friockheim, Angus and I would spend the money on a Vitopod propagator to look after the little ones :) P.S Thumbs up for the TShirt :D
God I would love a vitopod or two I'm so jealous of all the folk I see posting pics. The T-Shirts do seem to be a hit ha ha ha there are even a bunch of gardeners in the states who have bought some LOL Does this mean we are proper fancy pants youtubers now?
Great tips! Thanks. Will use the milk cartons and create some under cover within the green house. I am in Loanhead. Looking to grow Aubergine plants and chillies (third year attempt, hoping to be successful this year!). If I win the voucher, will spend on plant protection and pest control!
Hello! I’m in Edinburgh and in the middle of making my first garden. Planning to build some raised beds for some veg and cut flowers. I’d love to spend the vouchers on some raised bed covers. 🤞🤞
Hi, we're in sunny Wolverhampton 😂 2021 is our first year of growing our own vegetables and after a busy day setting up our greenhouse we will using the vouchers to buy some new propagators and maybe a raised bed.
Hey! I'm just outside Edinburgh and honestly couldn't make my mind up about what id use it for! 😂 Maybe put it towards the mini poly tunnel kit or some of the "bits and pieces" i'd like, root trainers, a sieve, seed trays module trays..... I'm so indecisive!
I'm in North East Derbyshire and just starting growing. It will be in our greenhouse (which was previously used to store junk and it was driving me mad!) This is my first year growing and I would buy all new tools and some propagators. Going to be trying potatoes, peas, tomatoes, cucumbers and little gem lettuce. Wish me luck.
@@eliandkate I know. My Father in law bought and built it and then only got one year growing before he got ill. It has since been used to store junk and I thought it high time it was used for what it is meant for so here goes. Never grown a thing in my life but willing to give it a go
Hi great video has always i'm in wolverhampton, west midlands i could do with some propagators i only have a small plastic covered green house so they would be ideal to help me grow better flowers and chillies, love your enthusiasum in the videos always look forward to them.
I'm growing peas roughly the same time as you under cover just outside of Lanark so will be interesting to see how the peas vary. I'm growing Alderman for the first time
What a lovely video, thank you :) I’m just outside Lancaster. I am hoping to grow in a raised bed in my tiny garden (until now I’ve only ever had space for containers). Unfortunately my little plants will have nowhere to go until we install rodent mesh and banish the uninvited guests... I’d love to be able to buy an electric propagator, or treat myself to a nice woven basket ☺️
Hi, from not so sunny Belfast. I am growing in my greenhouse and some raised beds in my garden and lots of pots. I would love to buy some sort of netting for my brassica bed as much as I love 🦋 butterflies i love veggies even more and dont want them white butterflies to lay their eggs on my caulis and broccoli lol.
Season 2021 has started!!!
So are you growing along with me?
Have you started your own seeds yet?
I’m learning lots from you and have started growing, sowed spring onions, spinach, mizuna and salad leaves today.
Relatively new subscriber here 👋Love what u are doing and I've already got some hints and tips plus alternative ideas from u so thank you Eli. oh it's going to be a good year!!!!
Started two types of tomatoes, two types of peppers, cucumbers and strawberries all from seed today after finally getting my new greenhouse built and ready! Now the anxious wait to see if the seeds take! 😬
But exciting too.... One of my favourite parts of gardening
Hi Eli and Kate hope you are safe and well. This is my completion entry. I Live in Ayr Scotland and last year I decided to start to help my local community by donating fruit and veg to local food banks. The money would truly mean the world as I would spend it on better equipment. Thank you Eli stay safe
Improvements are always exciting 🙂
I'm in Leeds, this is my 2nd year growing things, and will be growing things in my greenhouse, raised beds and pots around the garden with my 2 daughters. I would spend the winnings on some covers for my raised bed to stop the birds and squirrels attacking.
good plan! 😀
I'm in Northampton I have never had a garden until November last year (I'm 58 😬) I now have a small green house and have built raised beds, every thing I do is trial and error but I'm absolutely loving it. So every little purchase is helping my learning curve grow 😊
I'm a fan of a good learning curve
I have started my peas in deep trainers in poly tunnel so fingers crossed. So nice to see green grass and no more snow ❄️. As always 🐝 safe and stay gardening 🇨🇦✌️🌶🥬🥕💐
oh We're pea twins :)
will be interesting to see how we get on
Hello Eli and Kate.
Yeah Brian, I think you win for the four seasons in a day thing. Peterheid is notorious for the weather 😁😁😁
I’m in Tamworth I grown in raised beds I made out of recycled pallet wood and also a compost bin made out of pallets, I also have a small plastic green house I use to harden off my plants, some propagators would be perfect and keep up the great videos Eli 😊
That is awesome! I think propagators would go down a storm
A grow light would be a brilliant addition to things 😊
My wife has had a wonderful (sunny) day in our back garden here in London doing a ton of prep. work. went up the garden centre yesterday was a total roadblock, is that time of year!
Great to see your video, always inspiring and such wonderful presenting skills, thank you.
Oh I dream of being able to go to the garden centre.
Hopefully soon 😊
Another great video! Congratulations again on 5,000+ followers. Delighted to be a small part of your celebrations ;)
Thank you very much! We're chuffed to have you on board :D
Sounds great! Nice to hear too that you've gone with grass rather than just paving over.
When we moved into this house it had all been paved :(
Hey 👋 from Texas, brand new gardener here just getting all the information and ideas trying to learn. Hoping to get raised beds and a greenhouse as soon as possible 🤞🏼
Thanks for the videos, love your personality!🌺
glad you are enjoying the videos 😀
being a brand new gardener is an exciting thing - a blank slate ready to attack the garden with all your new info😀
Great idea using the big plastic bottle🤗🌻🌻🌻
Thank you! 😊 Must confess... not my idea at all, seems to be really common in the states :D
I think we'd use a voucher towards a couple new quality tools, or one of their fire pits 😁. And wed probably share our purchase between our allotment and kitchen garden down here in Essex 💙💚
oh a fire pit!!!!!!
Hi, I'm from Kinross, Scotland and pottered around with gardening for years, nothing serious till last year Now -
"I'm a gardener" and I love growing things, (with my dads help) my husband has just ordered me a glass greenhouse for my birthday and I'm counting the days till it comes, my wee plasticy ones keep blowing away, then i end up with a mound of soil, with weird plants that come up and I have to wait to see what they develop into. I would love a soil tray, table, closh, propigator, pots, seeds etc etc etc for my new Greenhouse Love your videos so encourgaing Fiona
Oh I completely know where you're coming from... I've had that very mound of earth and mystery plants.
Love your videos. I live in Lincolnshire and I’m a new gardener frightened of starting but need to make some raised beds as I’ll be sewing outside so i definitely need those frames which is what I’d spend my voucher on if I won. Thanks Eli and Kate 😘
the frames seem to be the number one thing on peoples shopping lists :D
Hi I live in the South Wales valleys and a beginner at growing from seeds. I have just sown some perennial seeds in trays placed in plastic ziplock bags. They’re currently on our dining table. If I won a voucher I would put it towards a propogator. I’m really enjoying watching your videos and learning so much so thanks for sharing.
Sounds great! Just remember that they will need loads of light once you have little plants :D
Thanks
That sounds like the perfect plan
I’m in Leigh, between Wigan and Manchester. I have hundreds of plants, flowers, fruit, vegetables and trees in my tiny back yard. I would probably spend voucher on some compost for my Grow Your Mind community allotment! X
Sounds great!
staples are a good thing to get... people underestimate the cost of the basics :D
Banchory, Aberdeenshire. I grow in my green house and containers about the garden, saving up to make some raised beds in the garden that the dogs can’t get into!
Do dogs chew all the plants the way our cats do?
@@eliandkate yes! My dogs eat the plants and the cat digs them up 😂 they’re the reason I got an allotment
I have photos of Kate almost in tears trying to build ours
Lots of tea and biscuits and tonight, a wee medicinal tipple will go down well.. They are going to be sore. 😁
growing in north coast Northern Ireland thank goodness for your vids during this lockdown love them and your blog love following you on Facebook you keep everything so simple and easy to understand and make it so enjoyable think i would buy some stuff for my new greenhouse if i was so lucky to win please keep up the good work cant wait to next vid thank you
I think our greenhouses deserve a wee treat occasionally
Another brilliant video, Eli and Kate. I absolutely love the way you make everything so clear and easy to follow. Fantastic giveaway too. I'm getting raised beds in 2 weeks and my greenhouse will be arriving in my North Wales garden next month. If I was lucky enough to be picked for a voucher, I'd buy the equipment for the raised bed hoops as,after watching that video of you making them, I was planning to buy some. That would free up some cash for the sunflower seeds in this video 😀. Thanks, and good luck everyone xx
sounds like a plan!
That sounds great!
I live in Cramlington, Northumberland. I would love these vouchers as I am getting a new greenhouse in early April. It would be good as I need some raised beds and some over stuff :)
:D
I live on the Wirral and if I won I would put the voucher towards propagator and light set up .love the video many thanks again Eli
Good choice!
That way you get to go through the journey with me when I got my greenhouse and see all the brilliant stuff to come and all the things to thinking about :)

In sunny Plymouth. Just finishing digging out a few beds in preparation for planting and those hoops look ideal for stopping the squirrels nicking our strawberries like they did last year.
NOOOOOOO! Stop the squirrels!!!
@@eliandkate Squirrel update. They are now taking the LED tiny bulb lights off the string of garden lights and burying them!
Oh an exciting year then...
I think hat sounds like the most brilliant plant, those wee trugs would do the job :D
Thank you!

@@eliandkate thanks so much. I've been binge watching your videos since my husband bought me my 1st greenhouse a couple of months ago. I even bubble wrapped the inside. Now on to sewing spring seeds x
yay for seed sowing... exciting season coming up :D
I live in Banchory and would use the voucher towards a raised bed I think or the tubes that are on your own beds.
oh you are going for it!
Hi Eli! Birmingham here! And me being me I would go for tomato crop booster frame and cover! 🥴 me and the tomatoes eh! 🤣 all the best with the season ahead! And as always, another fabby instalment! 😁👍🏼
why am I not surprised :D
While I have you - what flooring do you have in your greenhouse?
The Kitchen Garden with Eli and Kate just saw my original comment had posted (phone troubles!) so have removed it and left this one! 🤣
The flooring of greenhouse just paving slabs 👍🏼
Perfect timing....I’ve been watching your videos loads this last week before I built our first greenhouse this weekend. Now it’s up I was wondering what to do next.....hey presto. Love your channel- great videos, really well explained. Thank you.

Can’t wait to see an update. From Leeds.

Thanks to all your videos I am gaining in confidence and getting there🤪😁🙋🏻 keep up the good work.
confidence just comes with experience, but I'll let you into a secret.... you never 100% feel like the "experts" on TV
Hi Eli and Kate, Well this channel has always been good but I reckon it's getting better video by video, You already know where I'm from and what I have to grow in, keep up the good work and I'll catch you on the next one.
Oh Ronald thank you so much. That means the absolute world to me 😍😍😍

I am growing in Teesside (north east) in raised beds. 2nd year and loving it 💓
raised beds are fab 😊
Hi Kate and Eli, I’m from Musselburgh in Scotland. I love the frames you have made for your plots so I would use the vouchers to build something similar for my plot at my allotment.
Keep the videos coming, they are much appreciated 👍🥦🥬🥕🍅
Eek... confession... I didn't even know there were allotments in Musselburgh :(
Where are they?
The Kitchen Garden with Eli and Kate
There’s allotments in Musselburgh at the back of Lewisvale park. There’s a 10 year waiting list so I have some years to go before I can get one there. My allotment is out by Ormiston. It’s called Station Gardens 😃
wow literally a stones throw from us and I didn't know
Oh, your in East Lothian, I didn’t realise 👍
I'm in Musselburgh 😂😂😂
Ha ha ha the in-between ha ha ha
I'm in Manchester. I grow In my garden. In a greenhouse and raised beds. I would spend the voucher on a raised bed kit.
Hurrah for raised beds. We seem to have quite the raised bed community here
Hi Ely,I live in Edinburgh and if I won I would use the voucher to by as much compost as I could because I've just took on a new allotment and I'm going no dig(ounce I've got rid of all the nasty weeds).Keep up the entertaining Video's.
Avis
The root trainers have come on so handy 😀
Love watching your videos so much you’ve really inspired me to buy a greenhouse and get planting!
We live in epworth, a little village in the Isle of Axholme in North Lincolnshire. As I’m pretty new to it all and still learning lots I would love to put the voucher towards one of their vegtrug raised planters as years of nursing have not been kind to the old back! Keeping my fingers crossed! Love your videos, keep posting! Michelle x
Oh a veg trug.... I totally understand your back problems... We're feeling our age these days.
I'll be growing in Norfolk and I would love to put the vouchers towards planters or maybe covers for my raised beds as I have moved to a new house and I am starting with a blank canvas. Love your tutorials and I'm learning so much.
a blank canvas is always soooo exciting
The problem I have these days is that any new ideas get put down because t would destroy something we have already got going :(
Evening Eli! I’m growing fruit, veg and flowers in my garden in Cornwall! Would love a pair of falcon secateurs! 🥰
oh those are popular secateurs - I went for Niwaki but I'm not sure if they are any better or not.
It's blowing a hoolie here too... not sure how Im going to get next week's video done in this :(
Hello I live in Gloucester, I managed to get an allotment in September so this is my first growing season.

The more I hear form you guys the more I think I am so lucky. I've never had issues with mice or squirrels :D
always nice to watch the worst of not being able to participate in the lottery but I'm in Iceland ;)
I'd love to be able to do these for everyone but it relies on the companies who work with me :(
Boooo
Hi Eli!
If I won the voucher I would definitely go for some polytunnel components plus frost cloth and slug nematodes!
slugs are a nightmare!!!
I have copper tape EVERYWHERE 😂😀😂😀
I'm in Zummerset :) What a great giveaway - I'm just getting into gardening and this will be my first year of veggie gardening. I was planning on ordering a greenhouse but the crazy long lead times means the growing season would be over before it arrived so I've managed to pick up a 2nd hand bargain from a local site and would use the vouchers to buy some basic planting items :)
Sounds great!
I think everyone is buying greenhouses this spring. Seems like all the companies have months for a waiting list :(

Thanks🌻
if there is just one piece of advice I would give, from my experience over the last few years, it would 100% be
Don't try to grow everything. It is too much and you just don't have the space.
I say choose one or two things you eat and focus on them. Then the next year you could add a couple more etc
Too many folk I see are trying to grow lots and lots and lots of the different varieties of things and in all honesty... it's better to focus on a small amount and get a good crop, than a small, unloved crop from lots of individual things.

Stay safe girls ... atb Jim
New hoops are always a good thing. Do you keep polythene on your hoops at this time of year? Given how cold it can get up in the shire?
@@eliandkate No, I use the hoops for insect mesh as I bring most plants on in the greenhouse so a mini polytunnel is not what I would use. Cold here ... well last night it was -1,3 in the greenhouse. Another cracking video Eli! :) All the best to you and Kate. We live in Friockheim, Angus and I would spend the money on a Vitopod propagator to look after the little ones :) P.S Thumbs up for the TShirt :D
God I would love a vitopod or two
I'm so jealous of all the folk I see posting pics.
The T-Shirts do seem to be a hit ha ha ha there are even a bunch of gardeners in the states who have bought some LOL
Does this mean we are proper fancy pants youtubers now?
@@eliandkate I guess you are an influencer now :D
ha ha ha I laugh every time I hear the media use that term. It used to be just called marketing or advertising
Great tips! Thanks. Will use the milk cartons and create some under cover within the green house. I am in Loanhead. Looking to grow Aubergine plants and chillies (third year attempt, hoping to be successful this year!). If I win the voucher, will spend on plant protection and pest control!
That is a great idea!
and.... I'm waving.... can you see me?? You are not far from me :D
Hello! I’m in Edinburgh and in the middle of making my first garden. Planning to build some raised beds for some veg and cut flowers. I’d love to spend the vouchers on some raised bed covers. 🤞🤞
Good plan. It is blowing a hoolie with you just now?
Crazy here
@@eliandkate yes, it is wild here up the road!
Hi, we're in sunny Wolverhampton 😂 2021 is our first year of growing our own vegetables and after a busy day setting up our greenhouse we will using the vouchers to buy some new propagators and maybe a raised bed.
Oh exciting times. Have you found the two greenhouse playlists yet? Might be useful 🙂
A kid in a sweetie shop?
@@eliandkate Absolutely!!
Congratulations Lynsey!!
Wish me luck.
oh it's going to be a lot of fun learning :D
@@eliandkate I know. My Father in law bought and built it and then only got one year growing before he got ill. It has since been used to store junk and I thought it high time it was used for what it is meant for so here goes. Never grown a thing in my life but willing to give it a go
Hi great video has always i'm in wolverhampton, west midlands i could do with some propagators i only have a small plastic covered green house so they would be ideal to help me grow better flowers and chillies, love your enthusiasum in the videos always look forward to them.
Sounds like a great idea! 😀😀
hi, i'm in Corbridge in Northumberland and i grow on an allotment with a polytunnel.
polytunnels intrigue me... are they just like greenhouses or are there differences you need to be aware of I wonder???
I'm growing peas roughly the same time as you under cover just outside of Lanark so will be interesting to see how the peas vary. I'm growing Alderman for the first time
Oh exciting - who’ll be first to germinate.....
Rodent mesh, I've not even heard of that :D
Count yourself lucky, I hadn’t either until a few weeks ago 😬 xx
😂😂😂😂
Also a couple od plastic greenhouses
:D
Hi, from not so sunny Belfast. I am growing in my greenhouse and some raised beds in my garden and lots of pots. I would love to buy some sort of netting for my brassica bed as much as I love 🦋 butterflies i love veggies even more and dont want them white butterflies to lay their eggs on my caulis and broccoli lol.
that was what spurrd us on to buy our nets. We lost all our broccoli and sprouts on season 😁
@@eliandkate AWW thats would have been a nightmare, its one of my biggest fears, i want to protect my veggies the best i can lol
