Me and my wife watched him. When he played this song. In Raleigh, she passed away last night from COVID after giving birth to our first son. I played it for her in the ICU.
I first met her in our college dorm in 2014 and He just became very popular. So we would dance all night to his songs. And she got me these tickets for our anniversary. We loved Raleigh and we always loved his music. She was 27 and a special education teacher. I talk to her everyday. Our anniversary March 16th 2018. The day of the concert.
I know there’s no way to help you heal the pain of losing someone so significant to you and your life but I want you to know that I think about your comment anytime I hear this song and I always hope that you and your son are okay and healing. I know your wife is still with you, even if you can’t feel or see her she’s there with you to give you that strength to heal and continue life without her physically. 🤍 I hope you can find happiness and I hope you never feel alone because someone is thinking of you even if you’re unaware of them
It's just pure biss, this man. I don't even know. How can you get like this, where, how does this happen? This is just freedom. If you ever really wondered what it feels and looks like, this is it. This man is completely free while playing on stage. At least that's what I feel.
The intro made me feel feelings I never knew I had. I can't specify what was it, a deep state of yearning, an overwhelming flood of joy or a sense of peace so silent it's almost close to death. I'm out of words-
I'm so thankful you recorded this moment so I could relive it! I was so lucky to witness this performance live and was incredibly moved by Rain over Raleigh and this performance of Wasteland, Baby! He is so unbelievably good live. I mourned the fact that I may never get to hear Rain over Raleigh again until I found your video! Thank you again
@@Donovanlefferts it's literally the title song for the album, my bro. If you're talking about the extended intro then yeah that's not on the album, Hozier cooked that up for this particular performance
Jay Lemuel Buenviaje yes, of course I’m talking about the intro, not the title track. I know what it’s for, still wish there was a studio recording of it.
Right now I feel like the comments section was created so that I can sputter out my gratitude and awe that this exists. It's so gentle and earnest and truthful that it bypasses all my cynicism and tiredness to touch my heart. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
such magic. my eyes are brimming with tears but only because it's so sweet. actually nope; genuinely wept because it's such a pure moment only possible with live music and we're in year 02 of a pandemic. god that makes this all the dearer and sweeter. the energy still comes through the recording. :) thanks to Hozier & thanks so much for posting this. x
Il n'y a rien à dire sinon que c'est vraiment merveilleux je suis complètement sous le charme de cette vidéo quand il joue seul avec sa guitare je suis émue tellement c'est beau. Je t'adore Andrew et merci pour tout ce que tu fais.
@@musiclover-cu5jy I literally cried when I saw this video for the first time. I'd be dead by now if I was there experiencing it with my own eyes and ears
@@MrsAferova i can't count the amount of times I was brought to tears that night. it was truly a magical performance. I've seen hundreds of artists over the past four years, but this was absolutely unique. nothing has moved me quite like this.
@@masensmith4226 I feel you! I saw him last November for the first time live and it was truly amazing. I got very emotional already during the concert but once I got back to the hotel room I think I cried half of my soul out for like 2-3h. He's very unique and I'm glad I can experience his music in real time 😭 (btw I really hope he's going to add more dates later this year because as for now there's no gig scheduled in my country)
@@MrsAferova Im probably going to photograph him again on may 22. Cherry wine especially hit me...I was first row in the second section back, and i swear to god we made eye contact throughout the second chorus. it feels so...unreal to be in the presence of someone whose words helped me through so much. as someone who suffered through emotional and psychological abuse for years, that song specifically spoke to me in ways I didn't think music could. feeling that kind of connection with someone who put words to my experience was truly surreal
Think about this folks for a minute he listened to something we all take for granted Rain falling... and then wrote this Classic.... Thank you Hozier 🌦🌧🌩
Would so love to see them at Red Rock so beautiful the Mountains under the stars so perfect it would be spectacular .Although they would be wonderful to see anywhere .
Yes - in Ireland to be a musician of any note one must be able to hold a room with voice or 1 voice and 1 instrument - Even so, Hozier is in a class of his own with that disciplined and emotive baritone voice and a wonderful heart and mind to go with it. He is pretty great on guitar too.
Rain on his window…riiiight…more like the rain he heard before he crawled out of the bog he’s been in for 3,000 years hahah i’m joking don’t come for me

What a generous and gentle share with the audience. Just breathtaking in sweetness.
If i survive this pandemic, i am going to do everything i can to see him live all the way from south-east Asia....gotta hang on to this....
Hope he'll have an asian tour too. From philippines here
Yeah!! it’s an encouraging word towards Hozier tour of Christ Jesus is Lord 🙏♥️😍
Sameeee...
same 🥲
i really wish that for you, it’s an incredible experience seeing him live
Silence in the audience. That was great.
Ikr literally Hoziers shows no one is like all crazy screaminn while he's talking or singing but when I went omg 😂😂 I was crazy
This man just brings a spiritual feel to his music. The silence was out of respect because this was just a sacred moment.
This felt like an out of body experience and well I'm crying

I want him to maybe share his wellness practices? 🥺. He is so kind and so balanced, I can't even
Beautiful comment. Thought the same thing.
He's a blessing to the music industry.

when he just played the guitar melody on the top of the audio of rain my heart broke...that was such a calming and truly otherworldly moment
Knows how to make a grown man cry. He is a gift from nature who has to be truly preserved and cherished. I'm so in love with this guy.
why do people say “make a grown man cry” like age and gender play into if you have emotions or not 💀

What a beautiful soul he is...
what an ethereal experience
