Not sure if I'd put in a used part on such a time intensive job. Read someone's comment on another Prius brake actuator repair vid that his "new" used one only lasted a few weeks. Ugh.
Im in particular abs situation. Forst replaced the small pump to the keft, and with weeks of trying replaced the ABS unit too (because once ABS and regen cane back out if nowhere) I dont have the high tech OBD. 3rd party mechanics said dorry, Prius ECU kept booting them out
Good video. It could be better if you take the video to close of those object that you are disconnecting. I cannot see what exactly you are doing. I just see you are working and things are coming off.
those lights are on on mine. pump doesn't run constantly though and the front brakes work perfect but the rear brakes don't bleed (barely) I wonder if its this though?
@@akindiyrebuilds6223as i can see, this pump works overtime for the last 10 years, and like every brushed motor, it gets worn out. I will try in few weeks to dissasamble mine pump and try to repair it. Dont think brushes can cost more than 2-5 € + work if you dont know how to do it, compare to 250€ on used one atleast in my country.
Great video. Need to get this done on my 06 Prius and definitely gives me a realistic idea on how to get it done. Thank you again.
Thank you
Excellent video. I'm taking mine out this weekend and this video is going to help alot. Thanks
Excelente explicación
I need to do this ABS replacement. Thank you for a great video. How long did it take to do the replacement?
To be honest I don’t remember plus I had an issue with a top line. If everything goes smoothly I would think 2-3 hour job

I’ll keep that in mind. Thank you

Is the used part still working? I don’t want to spend on a new one. Just wanted to see how long the used part will last
Yes, it still does work. But I would recommend finding the part from a donor with smallest mileage you can find.
Greetings, same failure here on our '08. Anyone know an independent mechanic near the Baltimore MD area who would take it on?
Very cheap200$.in Lithuania 700-1000€(used).
Instead of replacing complete ABS assembly, can we get a kit for ABS to replace worn out parts of ABS
You probably can. But it’s easier to change the whole pump

My car has 170k miles and the abs has gone bad
Looks like more than just the pump...
