All the references to oramorph, becoming thin etc. take me back to a very dark place. “But with the odds against me once again, can only hope that this note reaches them”. Sounds like CAS’s cancer is back 😓. You are by far my favourite artist in the U.K. CAS and we have been blessed with this album, it is a work of art. Big love ❤
Don’t think you can overstate how deep this track hits. The production is solemn but beautifully melodic. The bars punch me in the gut in the second verse, reminded me of my boys funeral and I lost it, how’s that for serendipity.
Special song, I think the soundscape and lyrics are really relatable to a lot of us. Makes me think about my twin brother. I need to live through him and make sure I enjoy the ride for the both of us.

You should do a video for this, it's too beautiful not too would look amazing in an urban environment/our current society contrasted with thunder rain and the beautiful poetic genuine emotion you have put into this, truly amazing bro

Never would've expected a Cas & Neil Tennant collab though it's amazing how well his vocals compliment the Cas style. Especially mad that in a tune about old cassettes there's a genuine Pop Legend on featured vocals lol!

Really worries me, the interview he had before this album dropped, the interviewer asked if he might be dying, cas simply said “listen to the album, and it’ll all become clear”, there’s something so cold about him constantly acknowledging the end within his music. However, I’m so glad we got an album, an absolute legend.

Theres something about 'sat on the second step' that gets me ffs. You can feel the metal banisters to your left. The breezeblock walls with the picked/peeling paint to your right. You can hear the grinder being hit toegther. Kids laughing and going mad out the front. Music and the olders chatting out the back. I sometimes find it hard to pay attention to this tune cause of where that takes me
Bought a hotel room last year when I'd been sofa surfing and homeless. I thought id have some time away from all the people and the stresses. I put this tune on and it made me think .. It wasn't anyone or anything hurting me other than myself. I laid there and had it on repeat and it made me realise the only person who was hurting me was me.
Everytime i hear this makes me contemplate my whole life. Anyone who is a real cas fan understands the feelings behind this song, because we equally as fucked up.
