I saw Barry at the Dutch TT in Assen in ,I think it was in 2015.
Barry was my favorite...best collection of cars and always made me laugh...i still watch the reruns....funny how all the people bidding and never winning unless they were the stars of the show by contract...how I knew it was a fake show, but still fun to watch 🤣😂🤣

Actually they just showed the lockers won by the stars. If you notice some auctions only show 3-5 lockers being bid on. Those were the one's where the stars actually had the high bid. Generally there are dozens of lockers up for bid at those auctions.

That was great and very interesting. Some good stuff and some sad stuff. I loved storage wars. I even got into going to storage auctions for a year or two. Lots of fun for me.

I live in Lake Havasu City where Daryl moved to;; we are no where near the Mexico border like the video show (we are almost 3 hours away)

I remember my mother telling me back in the early 70’s her sister ran a huge storage place in California. And they had a delinquent renter. So back then they put a ad in the paper to auction off the unit. One guy showed up and got the unit for a dollar. He just wanted the tools and told my aunt she could have the rest of the stuff. I guess there was a lot of nice furniture left. All for a buck 😱
I loved this show.
Tom is the owner of Casa Tres Cervezas, the last word translates to Beers in Spanish but we have no clue what the other 2 words mean. They put as much effort into producing this as the show producers put into the episodes of Storage Wars.

I used to watch in the beginning few years and stoped because it seemed to scripted.
It was scripted they had to set cameras up in the lockers if you notice the camera angles

I think Mary is so cute. Her sense of humor is funny.. She sure is a hard worker and she's not afraid to get dirty. I wish she would wear gloves when she's cleaning out those units she buys. A person can't be too careful. 🙂

I did that business for years bid on hundreds of auctions never once experienced any real drama but this show did fuck things up due to everyone and their grandmother started doing it.
Back when I got into a little bit of trouble, and had to spend some time at Her Majesty's Pleasure, my fellow inmates and I used to watch this religiously. We'd have a laugh during the show by shouting "YUUUP!" to each other out of the windows :D

I think I stopped watching this about Series 3. I only recognise about 5 of these people.

I always thought the show was fake, mainly because there were several "extras" in the crowd that would occasionally bid, but NEVER win. Also the times they would find large sums of cash was suspicious. Unless the locker renter died with no relatives, why would you not go get your cash prior to suspend payment on the locker?

I ve been to many storage auctions for the past 30 years. I knew the show was just entertaining and not reality. If anyone lets a unit go to foreclosure they cherry pick the goodies . The units were peppered to attract excitement. Nobody was interested in buying a locker full of dirty underwear😅
Mary Padian was my crush/favorite. She is the all American girl type, funny and cute. Not a bunch of make-up or plastic surgery. Mary and Mo were a fun pair to watch, Barry Weiss seemed like a cool guy with his stylish clothes and his many cars.

We had a garage sale and some guy pulled up in a van who said he was connected to Storage Wars and was looking for stuff to place in storage units to make
it look more attractive for the scripted bidders. Left a business card in case we came up with other items to sell. So, yeah, it's fake.

This is the show that made storeage units all over North America sell for $350 or so for units that were hardly worth $20. I saw one auction with 400 people at it and 5 units took 4 hours to sell and at 10 times their value. I'm sure that real buyers knew these auctions on tv were staged as most times real units are owned by poor people who ran out on their rent or something and moved their junk into a unit in the middle of the night. Therefore the kitchen pots and dishes with food on them and the bags full of soiled clothes along with the broken furniture.(A unit you might buy for only $20 but will spend another $30 at the dump plus gas to haul away) Very seldom you would make $1000 like on tv.

It was said that most of the things in the storages were planted there by the producers.
They never even showed some of the things that were supposed to be in the units. I remember one episode where they showed a flat box upright against a wall and they claimed it had brand new door skins for some old expensive car or another. The box didn't say what was inside and they never showed the door skins, so they probably just made it up.

Your footage at 10:22-10:25 is false in the suggestion that Lake Havasu City borders Arizona, California and Mexico. That would be Yuma, AZ, not Lake Havasu City.
