I have to admit that I laughed out loud at this video but after I was stung a second time and my wife stung on the head, it was war. I tried the foam and permethrin spray with poor result. I was about to call an exterminator when I realized that I simply couldn't admit that I had been beaten by a wasp. So, I followed your instructions fairly closely and discovered that 3/32s micro fuel line hose at Home Depot fit the Cutter nozzle fairly well. It's been a week now since Ive even seen one of little bastards. I watched, I learned and I KICKED THEIR ASSES! Plus, I have plenty of product left over for when they try to repopulate. Thanks to you Tim! You are a genius!
You wrote your comment 6yrs ago and I am just now seeing it along with this video because out here in Texas those red wasps are no joke! I am about to head to the store and grab these supplies and go on my own war path to kill these suckers! As a single mama I will climb a ladder and do what I have to protect my kids! I wrote down the micro fuel line hose size you said too! Thank you to both of you for this valuable info!
Gotta give him a good ole down home atta’ boy. Everyone wants to laugh and everything, but he thought of a simple solution to a problem y’all are looking for on here. Thanks for the tip, I’ll be using it to help out with an issue on my Granny’s house.
yup! They move from one side of the house to the other! Checked the attik yup guard wasp! good advice Now I get to wear my 80's leather jacket IT's GO TIME!!
finding and getting to the nest is most the battle that is true. Buying spray cans of toxic crap at your local hardware is bad for the wasp but bad for you as well and unnecessary. So many simple cheap solutions that work just as well can be used. The best one I found to date is a mixture of dish soap , peppermint oil and water. You can use a good spray bottle or a pump sprayer. Also they don't fly well after dark so I'd wait til then to mount my attack.
I had a wasp nest in the door jam of a car I had sitting in my backyard. The car was parked closely beside me garage so I could only open the door a little bit. I slid into the car as I lowered into the car I just perfectly shaped the nest and wiped all the wasps off onto my back. The wasps were then jammed between my back and the seat, then I knew I was got 3 stings. Only the first 5 minutes hurt if you get ice on it and lay down 10 minutes most of the pain is gone.
Update: This 100% worked! Went to lowe's the guy actually help me find the micro fuel line and spray/fogger. I hit them at the crack of dawn about 30 came out squashed them all! E. Texas
Lol yeah wasp nest near living quarters etc annoying!!! My kids live in fear of them!! I've used foaming wasp/hornet spray(20ft reach!)..,, Spray that in the cracks & holes works good too..., Tube tricks a gd idea too! Repeat nuisance areas?! Caulk & Seal!!! I've started using sprayers (with adjustable nozzles) with a mixture of ammonia & rubbing alcohol 70-91%!! & a smidge of dishwashing liquid! They don't know what hit them when I do!!!
I feel like you cut the best part of the video. Where the wasps flood out and go after you while you jump from the top of the ladder...lol jk Anyway great idea with the tube. I've got some in the rock on my chimney they found a crack apparently. But there is about 30 - 40 guard wasps and up near the top so idk if I have the courage to do it...lol
Hey I really like your videos and I was checking my hive today. and I have a problem with bumblebees in my hive how do I get them out and is the honey still good.
Don't mean to give you a short answer but considering the problems that bees have these days, bumblebees is not a problem. The bees will take care of them. I don't think you will see a continued problem with the bumblebees.
I agree with him..the honey bees will take care of them usually anyway..just keep a watch. But remember bumblebees are pollinators too along with many wasps - when you spray one you take a chance on doing harm to beneficial insects and good pollinators. Pollinators are enormously important and without them a huge number of our food sources would be eliminated. They are under great pressure - habitat, chemicals, disease, mites, etc. Folks think everything that is a bee must be killed..if they can sting - kill them but we just can’t do that or we will be dead next. Just look at our world since WW2 when the development, production and use of numerous chemical has escalated. In the same time period, human disease and cancers has exploded. In the same time period, flowers, insects, birds, animals have been lost. We have done more harm to our earth with all these chemicals, not to mention thee explosion of cars, trucks, airplanes, buses and other fuel driven devices and vehicles. Back prior to WW2 and people expanding to the suburbs - you used non gasoline yard and farm tools..no gas lawnmowers, weed eaters, pressure washers, few big tractors and farm equip. For my family, clean up into the 30s farm and logging was done with horses. Grain mills rain off water. Even though cars were around, not many people had them, like tvs and phones it took into the 50s and even 60s before there was one in every home. Trimming and pruning was all done by hand - no gas weed eater, chainsaw, and to wash your house..you got a bucket, brushes and sponges and cleaned them. We have become a lazy nation dependent on weedkillers and noisy machines and in the meantime we have become sicker and more obese. I remember my grandparents and great grandparents doing work in their 80s that people in their 30s won’t do today. Sometimes, in the summers at night and on the weekends, I just hate hearing the neighborhood filled with all the noise of machines spewing gas and oil fumes into the air instead of listening to the call of birds and children playing. Something else we rarely hear these days..as they are all inside watching tv or on their mobile devices or computer.
Hey Tim, do you have a video discussing how you handle a colony that has a laying worker. I have a colony that has one that has just begun to lay. Will adding a frame of brood help?
I am going to have to try a can of that fogger stuff. We have a metal roof and these red wasp have gone from 2 entry points to about 10 entry and exit point. I am starting to see about 5- 10 guard wasp where as there was only one or two previously . Of course its by our front door. I wish they made a wasp bomb, I've debated getting a roach or flea fogger and throwing it in the eaves. I wonder if the wasp killing agent is similar . These things are like hummingbirds dive bombing you! I have wasted so much money on the Spectracide wasp killer. It doesn't seem to work at all, just pisses them off .
exactly, I was stung by a dive bomber when I got out of my car.....he hit before I knew he was coming. Then, another day, another tried to get me when I got out of the car....as if they are just waiting and watching!!!! Then one attacked a friend of mine! OMGoodness......I've sprayed the long distance stuff, but seems like there are now more..... I've been pondering calling an exterminator.
@@WallsBeeMan he was the crocodile hunter from the TV show. He was a conservationist so more likely he would of moved there little home somewhere they could live without interacting with us pesky humans. lol
He is crazy...said wear protection and he has no gloves and is bare armed. I’d have a bee keeper suit on and leather gloves and my sleeves and paints legs taped. If no bee suit or overalls than double clothing both layers loose as they can sting through close fitting. But don’t forget to tape everything. I have had them come off the ground dying and get under pants legs...had one get under sleeve at the wrist and you talk about sting - no thank you. If no bee helmet, then a couple hats with a scarf tied around and some kind of mesh fabric cut eye old and put safety glasses on so you can see. And they send out some signal for danger But if you live where there are lots of bees - you can get bee keeper suits from $75-$200..good investment and except for needing a respirator you can use it when spraying chemicals too. That said, if you are spraying toxic chemicals don’t use it around bees you want to keep. As they will climb on the suit and the chemicals whether pesticide, herbicide or fungicide will affect them.
Yes but the nozzle on the top is male and the tubing is female in this case. WHich goes to show you that it's not so simple to judge and label gender identification in a hardware store let alone in a restroom where you can't even see the equipment.

Thank you so much. I had the exact same problem, and had come to my wits end. Wasps are now dead.

Advice on eliminating Yellow jackets that attack the honeybee hives?
