if the main difference between dope sheet and timeline to see and control individual channels is as you show on this tutorial, you can access each individual channels also on timeline..! You can access all the channels in your animation on timeline Menu > View > Channels. But you can not access to action editor via timeline. it goes only via dope sheet. isn't t so!?
Nice tutorial but I just want to know why we have to create all those unnecessary 8 extra keyframes which have not been affected in this cube's movement. Does it cost an overhead on the processing power, system resources etc. For such a small example, I understand it would not make any difference but assume you are working on a slightly larger project. Kindly shed some light on this.
You don't have to create those extra keyframes if you don't want to. There are two types of keyframes you can insert. One where you insert all the 9 keyframes and another where you insert keyframes of only that action that you want. I inserted all the 9 keyframes for explanation purposes.
