Honestly, I like the bum cheeks😂 for some reason it reminds me of Christmas decorations😂(I dont know why), but you know Christmas is 🎵the most wonderful time of the year🎵😂 okay this comment makes no sense, but yeah. I like the way the pictures and fairy lights are arranged👍🏼

i love your room and you so deserve to be where you are! so proud. (yes to bum cheeks)
At the end of the day you don't drink or smoke (expensive habits) You self cater and your food is not massively expensive. If you want to splash out on a penthouse room then enjoy it and don't let others make you feel guilty for it.

Well as soon as you are getting Bafög, you will be technically in debt, just like me😅
But you only pay back half and that leaves you with about a third of the debth people elsewhere have!

Anto Maariani I can’t speak for everybody but where I live and study (in southern Germany) we don’t have to pay any tuition fees ‘cause they got rid of them a few years back. So you usually only have to pay 100-300€ per semester (depends on your uni) but that includes your ticket for public transportation! It’s really cheap especially in comparison to other countries.
Holly can you please give us a tour of everything you are offered by Cambridge ( storage, kitchen utensils...etc)
It's your last year in Cambridge, I think a treat is in order :) Room ballots are tricky I hear, I'm glad you were able to pay for a nice room and I hope you enjoy it! It's a gorgeous place.

I feel so sorry for students who have to go in debt to go to uni. Studying should be free everywhere!

Huge desks are honestly life changing and will make studying SO good. I absolutely love how organised you are, it makes a huge difference!
Also I think that carpet is better as while it is harder to clean, it feels so much more homely!

I totally understand you wanting to splash out on your room!!! I was similar to you at uni. I studied alot, never partied, didn't smoke or drink, ate healthy and overall spent lots of time in my room learning. This saved hundreds every week in itself, so I put it towards my accommodation.
Also-You deserve a nice space to live when you're living away from home as well! Enjoy it!

Everytime I see your videos I want to study more and more. Thanks for being such an inspiration to me. I'm from Brazil, and after watching you study I came to the conclusion that I had to put more effort in my studies ( Although I already have a university degree in Law). Thanks for helping me to be a better professional, and thanks to make me change my believes around University. In my country, people only go to university for the sake of having a degree, but they don't study as they should, as a result we have here professionals that doenst know things of their own profession ( And we are lucky if they can write portuguese propely).

I love everything about this room except the bum shaped photo display. It would look so much better with the photos spread out. But a good idea to have them on one side to 'separate' the desk and sleeping sides.

I would say that calling it ‘debt’ is silly and puts off people who are on the fence about uni.
The student loans system is nothing more than a ‘graduate repayment scheme’ as you only pay of 9% of earning over £25000 eg if you earn £27000 you pay £180 yearly - hardly going to break the bank.
The whole stigma around the ‘debt’ is why many talented people are apprehensive to go to university when our government has set up a system in which most people end up paying way less than they borrowed.
Not to mention all ‘debt’ wipes after 30 years.
I appreciate that holly was using it in this context to convey how she is not rich though I do think this stigma should be removed
Harrywsh not actually true, they are trying to get my student loan off me even though I never earned over the threshold, because they stated they never received a form from me which I sent. the interest goes up loads more than they tell you about initially. they have slammed Tons of charges onto my account for allegedly not returning paperwork in a timely manner... it's ridiculous
I'm in University because the student loan system - but I think you're being too pleasant about it. We will have to pay this for thirty years, out of our wages, as a debt. It is worth thinking about before you make the decision and makes going for scholarships very worthwhile. A lot of people go to uni just because they don't know what they're going to do with their lives and end up picking a subject they don't end up using after they graduate. To those people, it's just a debt. Because if they're not using their degree or end up in another field, it was both a waste of time and money.
Lara Boon I appreciate it may feel like ‘debt’ although that isn’t the case. A proper debt doesn’t wipe after 30 years. A proper debt doesn’t only require payment when you are earning A COMFORTABLE LIVING. A proper debt does not require you to not prove any financial situation.
We take for granted the systems in place in the UK. Many other first world countries like the US have systems in which all the debt MUST be payed back. And doesn’t care for your earning situation.
We are very lucky in the UK. And we should not take the system for granted
@@LonelyPandaBear Of course - but just because something is better than it is elsewhere, doesn't mean its good. And it doesn't mean we should teach 17 year olds to treat it not like a huge amount of money they will spend 30 years paying. It's better calling it a debt because it makes people properly think about it.
Lara Boon i think that is misguided. We use up much of the governments money paying for our primary and secondary education though we call it taxes instead of debt

The rent for this kind of room here in Norway probably be around 500 pounds (maybe more) a month. I know the feeling of debt! Luckily student loan here in Norway are very normal amongst everyone. You can't really be a student (at uni / college) here in Norway, if you don't have a student loan. If you're lucky enough to have parents who are willing to let you live with them until you are done with your degree, that might reduce your student loan. Many are still willing to take a student loan, but save it up so they can buy an appartement when they are done. I don't have that privillage. You get 1800 pounds in August and January (since that is the beginning of each term). The rest of the month (except for July) you get 745 punds a month. That shall last you for all your bills (renting, phone, travelling back and forth to school, etc.) and all other necessities. It's not that easy when you live in a "rich" country where everything is expencive and your rent are 450 pounds (including internet, water, electricity and so on) a month. Oh, well .. I'll be able to live normal when I'm done with my degree!

i would evenly space out the pictures, or hang them in rows on twine. only room for the one cheek, probably. i'd have to paint the battery cover a nice colour. the carpet should be good for exercise, at least. maybe some casual hanging out. the food preparation in front of a huge nice window is my favourite part by far of your dorms. the only real cause of envy. enjoy your penthouse lol.
