I like this design over the compound coaxial helicopter shown yesterday. It looks faster, more aerodynamic, and probably has a lower radar signature from the front. It would be even nicer if it had an ISR pod on top of the rotor assembly so the helicopter could peek over mountain tops or tree lines, laser designate targets without exposing the entire aircraft.

I prefer the coaxial rotor design by Sikorsky, the SB-1 Defiant. Just seems like a bigger step forward in design. I'm curious which one has a higher top speed and better payload capacity.

With any luck, we'll at least purchase a few of them. Fast and cheap is always good to have on-hand. I wonder if they'll put stealth paneling on it? Then it basically is a 2022 Comanche.
Also, I approve of anything that looks like it came from Command and Conquer.

just so you get a lil bit of an understanding of what the time it took, just type in "YF-22" then check when the "F-22 first flew and notice the gap between when the program to develop it started and when the finished product entered service. we're talking 20ish years here...

This FARA is light attack/ recon specialty aircraft, but I be the Army screw this up again, instead of having a 3 design process they will pick one design to do 3 things, which is good, o fly if it's done with common sense and greed not involved. A co axial dedicated attack platform will be a serious competitor on a battlefield especially when complemented by FARA and an Assault Transport entering an AO . Just would like to see common sense applied to the buying and R and D process.

affordability should not be a central criterium. Pilots are and always will be less replaceable than the machines they are flying. So you should be looking to multiply the combat capability through the machine as much as you can no matter the cost, until you reach a point where it takes as long to build the machine as it takes to educate the pilot.
Just my two cents from studying WW2; present and future wars might be different but I don't see a scenario where cheaper aircraft gives you an advantage unless we're talking transport or drones (where pilots are not exposed). Different story with ground/sea forces ofc.
