Hearing stories like this scares me, it just makes me overthink about my future. I don’t mean to generalize, but after hearing repetitive stories about mental, physical, and domestic abuse in general; I don’t think I ever want to get married in the future to be very honest. My mother never yelled or even showed bad face at my babhi/brothers wife. Alhamdulilla... My mother always advice us to respect her when ever she stays with us in our home. I think every one should teach their daughters to respect their brothers wife also. Some marriges become very difficult not because of mother in inlaws but because of sister in laws

Can you pray for the women and girls in Bangladesh? Currently we are protesting to give justice to the women, girls and even kids who have been raped. The situation is so so bad here that every girl is traumatized and we are afraid to go out. Also people try to blame the victims and try to justify the rapes. In addition to this, saying inshaAllah is affirming the obvious, saying ‘Oh Allah, give me this, if you will’. So, If you are making dua, then no, you don’t say insha’Allah, whether it is at the end of salah or in any other time. It is wrong to do so, not just unecessary. You say Ameen at end of a dua.
I started crying during this video, i met my father when i was just 7 and when i met him, he used to verbally abuse me ever since i met him, my mother doesn't know but he blackmails, gives me silent treatment and he compares me to my sister. Non-Muslim here. I believe in testing men and you and your daughters can do the same. *TEST THE MEN* for their true characters, behaviour, temper, etc. Test them with all sorts of people around them. Bring them to the worst restaurant and see how they treat the staff there. Watch closely how they treat their own mothers and sisters. Test men with their own families and friends around as well. See how they treat you in front of their own circles and also in front of yours. You need see that. People can be friendly and warm with you alone, but some can suddenly change character whenever their own relations and friends pop around. For example, they are chatty one minute and clannish the next - and you would wonder why. If a man for one of your daughter turns clannish to you and her, forget him as a match. Only God knows the right men for your daughters. Ask Him to choose husbands for them.

Thank you, Mufti Menk, for addressing this issue. I have known of Arab Christian women related to me who endured abuse from their in-laws. I am glad that as a Lebanese Christian Canadian lady, I never married a barbaric man. As a lady engineer and teacher, I have provided guidance to many young people, and young women. I even taught young Islamic women in my classes at school and they were highly respectful and respectable. These ladies were my best students, so eager to learn and so well-behaved. I will always remember them in my classes, as their teacher; and I would gladly teach Islamic girls again in the future. God Bless.
On the other hand parents should be very careful on how they talk and what perception they are about to make on their mind. Some parents just make toxic remark to their daughter’s mind, end-up having an ordeal relationship with their spouse. I wish my parents could have understood what it means to respect and honor a girl child in their very own home. I am an unfortunate daughter of shameless parents who spent their entire lives arguing and fighting. My father married twice after my mother. My entire family got disturbed. Mother became a psycho. I put my concerns repeatedly to my father who was settled far away in another city from me. And I begged him to take me with him. But at that time he never was never in a position to do anything. One wrong decision and he destroyed his entire family in a blink! I wonder if such parents would ever get paradise.

Desi parents don’t help their daughters after marriage. Before I got married my dad told me your choosing your spouse and once married you can never turn back to us. Literally he said this to me. Thank Allah my husband is a good person and we get along well. And by the grace of Allah I’ve never had to turn back to my parents.
I will always stand up for my daughters especially after knowing that I’ve raised them right and someone treats them bad because of their ill reasons. That’s what happened to me , and my parents didn’t stand up for me so I had to make a drastic change all on my own because I had no other way.

Omw this is me....i have schizoaffective disorder because of the abuse, harrassment, neglect etc. I am suicidal, and i wish to die every day. So if we are to follow the Qur’an that would also include following the Sunnah.

The Prophet [salAllahu alayhi wa salam] said: “Let not any one of you say, ‘O Allaah, forgive me if You will, O Allaah, have mercy on me if You will.’ Let him be resolute in the matter, whilst knowing that no one can compel Allaah to do anything.”

The topic I was reading through suggested that the meaning of this is not to say inshaAllah at the end of a dua, as one should be certain that Allah swt will answer his/her prayers. In addition to this, saying inshaAllah is affirming the obvious, saying ‘Oh Allah, give me this, if you will’.
So, If you are making dua, then no, you don’t say insha’Allah, whether it is at the end of salah or in any other time. It is wrong to do so, not just unecessary. You say Ameen at end of a dua.
I started crying during this video, i met my father when i was just 7 and when i met him, he used to verbally abuse me ever since i met him, my mother doesn't know but he blackmails, gives me silent treatment and he compares me to my sister. Non-Muslim here. I believe in testing men and you and your daughters can do the same. *TEST THE MEN* for their true characters, behaviour, temper, etc. Test them with all sorts of people around them. Bring them to the worst restaurant and see how they treat the staff there. Watch closely how they treat their own mothers and sisters.
Test men with their own families and friends around as well. See how they treat you in front of their own circles and also in front of yours. You need see that. People can be friendly and warm with you alone, but some can suddenly change character whenever their own relations and friends pop around. For example, they are chatty one minute and clannish the next - and you would wonder why. If a man for one of your daughter turns clannish to you and her, forget him as a match.
Only God knows the right men for your daughters. Ask Him to choose husbands for them.
I am going through this. My parents have both passed away so have no support. Feel very alone at the moment.

I am glad that as a Lebanese Christian Canadian lady, I never married a barbaric man. As a lady engineer and teacher, I have provided guidance to many young people, and young women. I even taught young Islamic women in my classes at school and they were highly respectful and respectable. These ladies were my best students, so eager to learn and so well-behaved. I will always remember them in my classes, as their teacher; and I would gladly teach Islamic girls again in the future. God Bless.

On the other hand parents should be very careful on how they talk and what perception they are about to make on their mind. Some parents just make toxic remark to their daughter’s mind, end-up having an ordeal relationship with their spouse. And when it comes to inheritance these parents are first to abuse their daughter ! May Allah protect us all !

I wish my parents could have understood what it means to respect and honor a girl child in their very own home. I am an unfortunate daughter of shameless parents who spent their entire lives arguing and fighting. My father married twice after my mother. My entire family got disturbed. Mother became a psycho. I put my concerns repeatedly to my father who was settled far away in another city from me. And I begged him to take me with him. But at that time he never was never in a position to do anything. One wrong decision and he destroyed his entire family in a blink! I wonder if such parents would ever get paradise.

Desi parents don’t help their daughters after marriage. Before I got married my dad told me your choosing your spouse and once married you can never turn back to us. Literally he said this to me. Thank Allah my husband is a good person and we get along well. And by the grace of Allah I’ve never had to turn back to my parents.

Omw this is me....i have schizoaffective disorder because of the abuse, harrassment, neglect etc. I am suicidal, and i wish to die every day. I started listening to Mufti again and now with Dr T K Harris its like such a relief. My husband doesnt want to divorce me and keeps me captive almost...its amazing how a narcissist keeps you pinned to them. From an independent working girl i am now a suppressed, depressed person...as if childhood wasnt enough. I dont want this for my daughter and make duaa, إنْ شَاءَ اللّهُ Allah SWT grants her a good spouse.

Dear Sheikh, God bless you. So many women in my country are abused and exploited, and their fathers do not stand up for them, do not offer them refuge. The children become the ultimate victims, living with a mother who is so hurt and broken she is zombified. Or divorced and deprived of financial support for the children and sometimes thrown in the streets. Fathers do not understand they are failing their daughters... what can be done?
I often wonder how fathers can watch their own children deteriorate like that. Is this not mental illness?
@@mohsisohal806 yes, it is a combination of narcissism and greed. But just as I have witnessed fathers do this to their daughters, I have also witnessed the same fathers lose everything, money prestige and sometimes more. it cannot be but the wrath of Allah.

In the UK Banaz Mahmud was raped and murdered on the order of her father because she "dishonoured him" by leaving a forced marriage and meeting someone else. It's caused a huge backlash here for Muslims. There's a film on it you can watch if you want to get depressed.
