We never got through the ER doors when 11 nurses, doctors came out and grabbed the cart. Then, the crash cart went whizzing by into your trauma room.
They let me sit by the door because I was a RN at this hospital.
It took them 1 hr to stabilize you even though you were intubated.
I stayed with him in his ICU room for 24 hours.
Our son came and sat with us.
Until we knew we had to ask him if it was time for him to take God's hand as if he knew he was soon to be at peace.. .

When my girlfriend said goodbye, all by text messages, I knew why she was doing it and understood why she wanted to go. But what hurt, and still hurts, is that she didn't love me anymore while I still held so much love for her and still do. It's that heaviness in your chest that you can't get rid of. That urge to try and work it out but they don't want to. Honestly, I didn't know what heartbreak felt like and I wish to God I never had to feel it but here I am.
