Gratitude dear, freaking amazing info I've been looking for! I have a Huge Pyramid that is a generator for my Spirits. I often perch with my Dragons at the very top. They can feed, chill live and gather there. My Ancestors love it there. I practice meeting them there all the time. It is my palace.
The basic idea of this mental structure is that you build it BEFORE you need it, and practice going to it BEFORE you have to. That way, when you do need it, it's all ready and waiting. The hard work has already been done.
I love this technique so much! I stumbled on it myself during a yoga class. We had a section of meditation, and I found myself walking in a familiar forest, but it was struggling and dying. Being freshly out of an abusive relationship, it was helpful for me to mourn the old forest, and tend to it so it could regrow. There was so much crying involved. I very quickly recognized it as a portion of a fantasy world I designed as a child. The stories I wrote in that world led me to research witches, and without that I don't know where I'd be today, so working closely with that space as an inner temple has been so lovely. I have gone on walks there to learn about myself in areas I struggle, and have been genuinely surprised by what I learned. I do also have areas that are more structured, but the discovery of myself through wild places has been so enriching.
I’ve been playing the Sims from day one and it really does help with visualization lol. Thank you so much for this! I have a cabin in the forest next to a heavy tree line separating it from a flowing stream and I can instantly go there but I’ve never gone inside for some reason. This really helped me take it further.💜
19:00 - Rewriting memories is something that Aidan Wachter talks about a lot in his book Wearing Fate. I highly recommend this book if people are interested in this sort of practice!
I’ve been meditating this way for many years- I just didn’t call it a mind palace. It’s so effective and much more enjoyable than focusing on your breathing! I’m good at visualization but I have some clients who are not. One method I find fun and useful (also for myself) is to make mood/vision boards. So you can create your whole “palace” or make a different one for each room. Cut places and things you like out of beautiful magazines (like Architectural Digest for example) and make a collage of elements you like for the space. You can also print images to cut out if you don’t have magazines. Keep them where you can regularly see them so it becomes easier and easier to go there in your mind.
Thanks so much! I’ve built a whole castle and landscape in my mind over about 3-4 years and I constantly go there and maintain it, do gardening etc. looool. My first 2 ever spells were performed there, you’re a god in your mind, you can do anything with any tool. Sooo useful.
As a total aphantasic I have to say this: NO YOU DON'T NEED VISUALISATION TO DO WORLDBUILDING, OR ANYTHING ELSE IN WITCHCRAFT. You can intuitively know what things/ beings look like without actually picturing them. You can get communications as if a novel's being written and it only makes sense for a dialogue to go a certain way. Please, if you're an aphant: 1) don't let anyone tell you "you just need to practice visualisation", 2) know you're allowed to throw Psychic Witch out of the window and still have your spells work! (Sodry for the rant but it's a topic I'm passionare about!)
@@meakia9 Nope, sorry - I'm a shy bunny. 😁 I'm happy to help, should you need it, but each person's imagination works differently, so you'll need to experiment and see what you resonate with!
The funny part is visualisation in western world isn't that all. It came from Theosophy, so early 1800. In the meantime, all the folk magick and ceremonial things we have from before that time didn't include any form of visualisation at all 😂 People had "just" on those things and they worked without any psychic witch copy 😂❤️
I learned very similar processes in Nick Farrell's book Magical Pathworking: Techniques of Active Imagination. You've reminded me of many ways the mind palace/inner temple can be built and it's versatility in magickal practice. My mind palace is probably derelict since I started a job in academia in 2015😁. Thanks to this video, Ivy, I'm inspired to pay a visit and rebuild.
I loved this topic - it's so fun and creative. I also have a castle and a woodland as part of the kingdom - I created a special room for my inner child - like an epic playroom - which she can come and go from, as and when, via a portal. I also had to create a room of requirement just like Hogwarts 😂 - and I have the library of dreams lol like in beauty and the beast - I just love how I can create the most elaborate altar spaces if I need - and have a space to go to practice just about anything. I've never housed my servitors within the castle before - I think that sounds like a wonderful space for them - I always had them reside within little physical items as spirit houses. There is this one place on the astral though, having said that - its like a beaten up old cottage doll house - and I have a familiar residing there, but I have forgotten the pathway there and back, so I'm working on connecting those worlds and building bridges and roads between that dolls house and my mind palace kingdom. Loved hearing about your workshop - I'm imagining steam punk Santas grotto vibes 😂 and wonderland omgsh yes - 🙌 I so resonate with how u feel about Alice too ♥great video thank you for sharing xxx
Love this practice! Mine is an inner grove that I constructed during Druid studies. While I don't have rooms, I do have different areas that I gravitate towards for different things. For me, it is also such a natural way for my subconscious mind to speak to my conscious being. I actively designed my space, but now when I enter, I make no conscious decisions. Whether it's nighttime or daytime, and/or the moon phase, usually tells me how actively I should spend my time right then.l, the way the water is flowing speaks of my current emotions and therefore creative energy, the color of the wildflowers typically show me which chakra(s) to work with, the animals that show up carry messages, etc. This is even how the spirit of Birch showed up to me...I just entered my grove one day and bam, Mama Birch had planted herself in the center of my wildflowers. 😂🥰 It's also worth noting that my experience is with aphantasia, so I conceptualize rather than visualize. I can't actually see anything, it's more of a super detailed knowing. Druidry also teaches that creating an altar in your inner space that is modeled after the altar in your physical space creates an incredible liminal space between your two worlds. If I am doing a physical working, I like to sit in front of my altar, go into my inner grove to get grounded and inspired, then go sit in front of that inner altar. Then when I open my eyes and begin the working, I am in that super special place where those worlds intersect. Additionally, if I can't do a physical working because I am low on time, energy, or resources, I can simply clear space on my physical altar and then do the working at my inner altar. Doing so allows it to still exist energetically on my physical altar. Anywhosies, this is longer than I intended. Thank you for sharing the sacred space of your brilliant heart and mind with us!! 💜
I find it amazing that as I grow and develop my spiritual practice, teachers and Sages show themselves to me when I’m ready for them. Ivy, you are just that! A wonderful teacher and Sage to help me grow. Thank you 🧚🏽♀️
Ever since I was a kid, I’d always create these elaborate worlds and stories in my head. As an adult, I’ve created this little cottage for spellwork in my head. I’ve drawn little sketches of different areas, but what I’ve really wanted to do lately is build a miniature house with all the little areas for my mind spellwork. Cause like how fun would it be to have like a little dollhouse version of your mind palace?
This was a great video, I’ve been doing this for years now and it’s been great to hear it’s a good way of getting into a Theta space of meditation. I also have taught my daughters this when they were young and they still use it and they are in their late 30’s. We build a house and furnish it with a safe space, my third daughter is now a practitioner of magic and learning high magic trying to figure out what she is right now. So I am just giving her space and resources to help her achieve her goals. All of my girls were abused by their biological father when they were very little, and I was so very I’ll with my disease and trying to stay alive and care for them it was so difficult, I almost died because of it. But I was lucky enough to get everyone out. After several years of therapy and hardship we finally found ourselves back on track and happy.
This is a whole new universe in regards to one's mental 'happy place'. I love all the creativity. I can see how it would really support the subconscious for manifestation. This would be great when I have insomnia. I wonder who all falls asleep in their mind palace? It probably aids with lucid dreaming. What a fascinating topic! I'm so enamored with this channel right now! ❤️🔥
Thank you for this! I was actually having trouble sleeping the other day and started to build my castle (modeled after the stone castle in Resident Evil 4 ;))! I started with the outside, the main door, the foyer (this was tricky) and then bedroom, so I could relax and sleep. Now I gotta go back and make additional rooms. I appreciate this inspo! I especially love your closet idea.
Thank you so much for this. Your talk with The Norse Witch has made astral work stick in my brain and this was a wonderful way to initially visualize where I naturally want to be - and it wasn't a spot I'd thought of yet. I was able to take notes of what i think each room should be for associative reasons so i can begin building things in my mind more easily. I knew I'd probably end up using a wood, but my soul said "the north path" where i used to build forts as a kid way out in the woods on our property. It was somehow a big eye opener for that to be where I'd want to walk to for this work because a few years ago i had to vehemently defend it from being logged. It is already such a holy place to me it will be wonderful to work there for astral and shadow work. Thank you again. This is so so so helpful.
A timely video for me! My therapist and I have been working on parts work, and they have tasked me with creating an "inner world" or mind-palace for all my parts and spiritual team. This video gave me some great info on where to start.
Oh. WOW! I feel so expanded! Never seriously considered mind building. I meditate, manifest, visualize... buuuuuut THIS?!?!?! I will be leveling up! So inspired. I feel butterflies.
Thank you for this! I realized only now watching your video that I have already been using this technique for some time without even knowing it... 😅I created places spontaneously for different purposes but thanks to your video you gave me some nice inspiration to put them inside a building and create new ones! Thank you!! 🤩🤗
Great job. This is the first time I've seen anyone do a video about this. Foolish Fish touched on it but just jumped into a meditation straight away. Which was excellent but he didn't talk in depth about it like this video.
Wow you are really good at this. Imagination applied to the conceiving of new and more beautiful method. I get the feeling that you would have been as highly-prized in the court of a Ramses as you are now. Thanks. And Congratulations by The Way!
I've seen information re: a mind palace for language learning, and while I am not an occultist or magic practioner, I enjoy your content. You have given a wonderfully succinct and thorough walk-throughs on this topic. Thank you!
Thank you for this. This really is THE video i was waiting for after you mention you want to record about inner temple ❤❤❤ and i finally was able to watch your wedding video and to be honest i cried a little, you two are just amazing ❤ 🎉
I love everything you talk about. I can tell you are passionate about this. I have had an awaking to this new world and I am so excited to begin creating my mind palace.. maybe that cottage would be a restful and peaceful place for me to do this awesome work. ❤
Finally getting a chance to sit down & catch up on your videos! This is one I have been super eager to watch! I love when you mentioned that it can be helpful for those of us who struggle to sleep - that is sort of where MY work with a mind palace (I like that term best, too) really got started! It was only after realizing what I'd done in an effort to put myself to sleep, that I was like "hey wait, this could be useful magically, too!" & oh...IT IS! My mind palace has evolved into a whole world (or in the least, a kingdom) in its own right. I also really enjoy using the mind palace techniques for writing my fiction - being a high fantasy author is a life goal of mine, & getting to CREATE the world it all takes place in this way is miraculous. Lots of magical tools can be used in writing fiction (ahem, tarot). I love love love when all of my worlds converge. This is a fascinating topic, & as always a pleasure to hear you discuss these things! I love your brilliant mind! Thanks for sharing!
I never intentionally built a mind palace, though I do have two "locations" that I go to when I cannot focus on meditation or sometimes when I, for example, want to go to sleep but my mind is racing. The main one is a forest on an edge of the ocean. However, it does not have any defined features or permanent elements. I have been considering building a more defined mind palace - as I can see a lot of potential benefits from it - but I struggle with the concept or remembering what is inside of it. How do you keep developing your mind palace without getting overwhelmed or hyper-focusing on trying to remember all of it elements?
I also travel to a forest that is less defined, and have discovered areas that are on the shore. How interesting that we've had similar experiences! I have a structure that I built in the forest, and I've just been taking it slowly, one room at a time. The more time you spend there the more you remember and maintain. You could also write/draw/map it out in a magical journal, keeping those details secret, but it could help to review before you go back in.
Beautiful beautiful video! I have an inner temple I call my “happy place.” I didn’t realize I could do so much in, you’ve opened up a whole new world of possibilities, I usually talk To my guides and higher self there, it will be fun to expand and play more ❤
watering your flowers in the garden reminded me of watering flowers in animal crossing😂 you're the second occult youtuber that I've seen speak of the "mind palace", i love your take on it :)
Ivy: The Meta Quest 3 is a bit pricey, but I can see how one can get really creative in VR. Especially w/ pass through. I tend to lay off of VR since it can be disorienting, but building my own 'Temple of Solomon' in the Complex Plane is very appealing. You can use hand gestures to do all sorts of cool stuff too. However, I am a fan of minimalism and determinism. I like simple and effective over bells and whistles. The price tag and nausea may be worth it to some though.
OH I have done something very similar. Like set up an altar room. I visualize 13 steps I have to transcend to get there. I like adding on additional rooms. Thank you
I’ve recently been working on going into my palace and to an altar room and grabbing a banner or other item that I’ve created and then bringing it out into the world around me and visualizing it in the physical room I’m in as a way of bringing the energy I’m wanting to work with and channel out so it can have an easier way to affect the surrounding area, or even helping fellow witches to tap into that fount of energy similar to the mana spell in World of Warcraft, and this has had some very interesting results and workings, I’d love to chat about it if anyone would like.
this video is incredible. I just watched it today for the first time, and wow, so much information packed into one video, it's amazing!!! thank you so much
As you talked I drew a dike at a disco, pink spotlights fall like roses as she shakes it up on the razed center stage ~ a naked pink baby cry's and screams in the corner on her outspread diaper cloth. At the opposite end [The Stars dressing room] next to the cloaking device just as you explained, then progressed to vibrantly moving crystal garden at the end.
Please do expand upon shadow work and make a future video on the topic which is more in depth ❤️ if you ever want to of course! I think it's honestly something so many of us would benefit from doing
Lovely. I always enjoy hearing you talk about your worldbuilding, and your mind palace is impressive. Mine is my inner grove. Of course it is, :) because I'm a witchy hedge druid. It's the most magical and deeply peaceful place I know in the worlds, and I can go there anytime I wish.
Every video is so full of knowledge and wisdom, the best witchy channel on TH-cam! - one thought though: I know someone who can't visualise... it's a diagnosed condition called aphantasia. They literally can't imagine things... how would they build a mind palace? I'm genuinely curious about this and eager to help them. Could they draw it maybe on paper?
Had the chance to listen to a bunch of your vids now. Gotta say Ivy, I kinda wish I had a friend like you growing up, that is to say, I enjoy listening to you. If witches are like you, then I think they’re pretty awesome. And Alice in Wonderland is pretty cool too. Take care Ivy.
Thia is so cool! Thanks for the othsr video! I'VE always imagined a spiritual home! I LIKE THE IDEA OF MY CLOSET. My archetypes are Dante from DMC and Albert Wesker from Resident Evil!
Thanks for the brilliant information, I'm looking forward to learning from your meditation video. A while back you had asked for suggestions on good role playing games and if you haven't played Baldur's Gate 3 then you are missing out on the best RPG. Not trying to sound like an ad for the game but seriously it is worth every penny.
I have a question or some questions. How does time work over there? I could see me hours upon hours building, visiting, exploring in my mind. Do you Set a physical timer on your phone that goes of? I'm fairly new to the meditation theme and have a hard time to quiet my mind. Also I have to lay down as I am somehow not able to relax while sitting up.... the thing is... when I'm about to get into what I think is the meditational state I simply fall asleep and nap for 20 minutes or so (but can't get there in my bed trying to fall asleep) well, I think those are topics for a meditation video I guess 😅 You are really a inspiration to me and I feel like I'm addressing this to the right person Best wishes, Sarah
Omggggggg brain wave video pleaaaaaaaase. Idk why girl but every time I watch one of your videos I get the " hey you should listen to this" tingle from the ether lol so thank you xD
i went to mine for the first time yesterday and it was completely white and empty, except for 1 patch of grass with a willow tree that one of my SGs took em too, and a small trail to a random beach that my other SG played in
i have a mind palace before i knew what a mind palace was. Ive been thinking about it lately as tools etc... are expensive. My mind palace is a greek temple surrounded by the Australian bush and native animals.
Do you have any techniques to protect a mind palace? Last night I was there spending time with my Tulpa and someone came in! They didnt stay long and didnt seem malicious but I wasnt expecting them and it made me realize my sacred space is vulnerable.
Interesting how many Wiccan and Western occultist practices have Tibetan or Mahayana Buddhist parallels (Servitors are tulpas; casting a circle is mandala; and Buddha-lands are often envisioned similar to this technique.
I have a channel membership through TH-cam, not Patreon! 😊 All the perks take place on TH-cam instead. The link for the channel membership is in the description box of this video! ❤️ I can't post the link in the comments here unfortunately because TH-cam will filter out my comment
I've began a whole world in rpg maker mv. I'm planning to have a closet full of outfits and different worlds where I collect stuff to make potions and do spells at my home base😊
I never heard the term "mind palace" before, but I have been familiar with the concept for some time. I first learned about it in a very obscure but super useful book called "Instant Self-Hypnosis" by Forbes Robbins Blair (who deserves to be famous, but he's not!) The book also describes how to achieve an altered state of consciousness and everything. I definitely recommend it to anyone who's interested in this sort of thing, especially if you are brand new to it and need some help getting started. Thanks for doing this video, Ivy!

Thank you so much for doing this video. I’m definitely storing this long term so it’s great to have your awesome info condensed like this 🖤
Thank you for this! I realized only now watching your video that I have already been using this technique for some time without even knowing it... 😅I created places spontaneously for different purposes but thanks to your video you gave me some nice inspiration to put them inside a building and create new ones! Thank you!! 🤩🤗
Thanks for this awesome video. I've wanted to learn about world building for a while.
Great job. This is the first time I've seen anyone do a video about this. Foolish Fish touched on it but just jumped into a meditation straight away. Which was excellent but he didn't talk in depth about it like this video.
I meant to film this video forever ago. I'm so glad you enjoyed it! 🖤
Stop, I fkin love schitts creek. Channeling Moira Rose’s energy is a brilliant idea. I love it
Wow you are really good at this.
Aww thank you so much!! ❤️❤️❤️
I love everything you talk about. I can tell you are passionate about this. I have had an awaking to this new world and I am so excited to begin creating my mind palace.. maybe that cottage would be a restful and peaceful place for me to do this awesome work. ❤
🥰❤️
Finally getting a chance to sit down & catch up on your videos! This is one I have been super eager to watch! I love when you mentioned that it can be helpful for those of us who struggle to sleep - that is sort of where MY work with a mind palace (I like that term best, too) really got started! It was only after realizing what I'd done in an effort to put myself to sleep, that I was like "hey wait, this could be useful magically, too!"
& oh...IT IS!
This is SUCH a helpful video!!
Thank you. I really enjoyed this video, brought alot more to my visualizations.
Beautiful beautiful video! I have an inner temple I call
my “happy place.” I didn’t realize I could do so much in, you’ve opened up a whole new world of possibilities, I usually talk
To my guides and higher self there, it will be fun to expand and play more ❤
You discuss all the best topics! Thank you!
watering your flowers in the garden reminded me of watering flowers in animal crossing😂 you're the second occult youtuber that I've seen speak of the "mind palace", i love your take on it :)
I’ve heard of a memory palace , but this seems more fun ! Thank
You ❤
this video is incredible. I just watched it today for the first time, and wow, so much information packed into one video, it's amazing!!! thank you so much
Use pintrest with this it helps so much to make a board with different sections that are each room it really helps you visualize your mind palace
I think it's honestly something so many of us would benefit from doing
you had me at “it’s friday night and i have my cup of tea with me!!” 😂 that is precisely my idea of a party 🤩💓✨
LOVE the memory room idea ❤ genius ❤ sending love 💕
Lovely. I always enjoy hearing you talk about your worldbuilding, and your mind palace is impressive. Mine is my inner grove. Of course it is, :) because I'm a witchy hedge druid. It's the most magical and deeply peaceful place I know in the worlds, and I can go there anytime I wish.
This is an amazing idea. I appreciate your wisdom and the inspiration ❤🙏🌱
Thanks!
Thank you so much; I really appreciate it!! ❤️❤️❤️🙏
I also LOVEEE that show and i like using video games to call upon spitit work. like cozy groves on switch i LOVEE it
Thanks for the videos appreciate them.
Love this …thanks 🙏🏻🌻✨….opens so many doors 😃
Thia is so cool! Thanks for the othsr video! I'VE always imagined a spiritual home! I LIKE THE IDEA OF MY CLOSET. My archetypes are Dante from DMC and Albert Wesker from Resident Evil!
Thanks for the brilliant information, I'm looking forward to learning from your meditation video. A while back you had asked for suggestions on good role playing games and if you haven't played Baldur's Gate 3 then you are missing out on the best RPG. Not trying to sound like an ad for the game but seriously it is worth every penny.
You probably already know but mind palace is an ancient technique for memorizing information. Details: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Method_of_loci
Great video! Thank you 🖤🖤
🖤🖤
I have a question or some questions. How does time work over there? I could see me hours upon hours building, visiting, exploring in my mind. Do you Set a physical timer on your phone that goes of? I'm fairly new to the meditation theme and have a hard time to quiet my mind. Also I have to lay down as I am somehow not able to relax while sitting up.... the thing is... when I'm about to get into what I think is the meditational state I simply fall asleep and nap for 20 minutes or so (but can't get there in my bed trying to fall asleep) well, I think those are topics for a meditation video I guess 😅
You are really a inspiration to me and I feel like I'm addressing this to the right person
Best wishes, Sarah
Omggggggg brain wave video pleaaaaaaaase. Idk why girl but every time I watch one of your videos I get the " hey you should listen to this" tingle from the ether lol so thank you xD
That was a fascinating video thank you so much for sharing i really not only enjoyed it but got so many fabulous ideas from it ty 💖
Loved this video. I have a question, do you make space for family members in your mind Palace?
i went to mine for the first time yesterday
and it was completely white and empty, except for 1 patch of grass with a willow tree that one of my SGs took em too, and a small trail to a random beach that my other SG played in
i have a mind palace before i knew what a mind palace was.
Thank you so much 🙏
This was fascinating!!
Interesting how many Wiccan and Western occultist practices have Tibetan or Mahayana Buddhist parallels (Servitors are tulpas; casting a circle is mandala; and Buddha-lands are often envisioned similar to this technique.
How much energy you need to keep it running?
You are the Best ✨
@Ivy do you have a patreon? I looked and can't find it 😢
I have a channel membership through TH-cam, not Patreon! 😊 All the perks take place on TH-cam instead. The link for the channel membership is in the description box of this video! ❤️ I can't post the link in the comments here unfortunately because TH-cam will filter out my comment
@@IvyTheOccultist Thank you!
Thank you for another helpful video Ivy. Every time you mention the mind palace I think of Sherlock Holmes lol
I've began a whole world in rpg maker mv. I'm planning to have a closet full of outfits and different worlds where I collect stuff to make potions and do spells at my home base😊
That sounds amazing!!!
You know it's quite odd I've done all this but not through mediation of in my mind I usually just talk it out and visualize it
I was with a group of occultists
We built a house together
And I built multiple rooms
I get ESP does anyone know if that’s a spirit or is it real ESP
I never heard the term "mind palace" before, but I have been familiar with the concept for some time. I first learned about it in a very obscure but super useful book called "Instant Self-Hypnosis" by Forbes Robbins Blair (who deserves to be famous, but he's not!) The book also describes how to achieve an altered state of consciousness and everything. I definitely recommend it to anyone who's interested in this sort of thing, especially if you are brand new to it and need some help getting started. Thanks for doing this video, Ivy!
🥹 thank you
I love shadow work however I am a shadow working warrior so I guess I am different than most.
i thought i was the only one how use the sims 3 for spiritual purposes😂😂🧜🏻♂️
💖💖💖
interesting, but vague
I work with Lilith so I can have a lil Nas x pole to hell 😂
Thanks!
Thank you so much!! 🙏❤️
