I agree, Andy Whitfield was one of my favorite actors, I was heartbroken when I heard that he was no longer with us. I also wanted to thank you for posting who it was that sang this song, I have been looking for that for a long time, such wonderful voices.
I knew I was going to cry. Can't help the fact I love and adore the actors and creators of my favorite shows. The moment they showed Leslie Nelson, I couldn't hold back my tears.
Pardon me while I giggle madly at four Canadians singing a sing written BY a Canadian honouring American TV - how fitting, considering we are EVERYWHERE in your industry.
I remember this very showing in 2011; I was standing in the living room as George was lying on the couch. I asked George to please turn it up and we both enjoyed it; such holds so many memories that are so fond and breaking to my heart and every time I listen to it, I break down and cry. It was the last song that I listened to with my fiancé, George, who died by suicide just five days later and played at my father's funeral who passed away just weeks later. I share this with some of my closest friends and have shared it with what I thought were good men in my life, only to find out they did not appreciate it or me or the loss of two extremely extravagant men.
And this is a tribute to my favorite cousin madelyn Pugh Davis the writer of my favorite TV show I love lucy rest in peace cousin see you one day in heaven 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗.
This is a tribute to my favorite grandparents Jill clayburgh and Elizabeth Taylor and my favorite uncle cliff robertson and my brother harlod Gould and my grandfather jack lalanne and my favorite cousins Peter falk Andy whitfield al masini and Stephen j cannell who I miss them with all my heart ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.
I loved this --so moving and beautiful the best part of the show. All amazing people and I really choked up on Peter Falk, Leslie Nielsen, even Jack LaLanne who was so ahead of his time.. Beautiful version of the song. Thought this was tasteful and well done and a chance to have a moment to remember so many amazing talents that touched our lives
Jeff Conaway was a very glaring omission, considering he was on "Taxi," which won multiple Emmys. Another omission: David Nelson, one fourth of "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet," the longest running live action sitcom in American TV history. Would've been nice also to include music consultant Don Kirschner ("Don Kircschner's Rock Concert," "Bewitched"), comedian Charlie Callas, and announcers Fred Foy ("The Lone Ranger") and Art Gilmore ("Highway Patrol," which he narrated).
A shout-out for the great character actor, Bill Erwin. His career in comedy began with Edgar Bergen on radio, and on TV from "Amos and Andy" to "Seinfeld" and beyond. He was a wonderful man as well as a talented actor and a lovable curmudgeon. Rest in Peace, dear friend.
Pardon me while I giggle at a Canadian trying to sound witty when she things people sing sings, quite fitting that no one gave your comment a thumb up :D
I would've been nice if Harry Morgan made it to 2012. He died at the end of 2011; he was SO close! R.I.P Harry Morgan [a.k.a Col. Sherman T. Potter :*)]
@tleafs0 He died early this year. Janurary 10, 2011.Rip He was one of my faves from that show along with roma downey and della reese.. It was the best show I had ever known besides Boy Meets World.
@mitchconn - I concur. That was a bloody shame although this was the best 'In Memoriam' segment I've ever seen! The Academy Awards could learn from this!
For many years as a kid growing up I would remember that ending sequence of a series whereby Stephen would pull the paper out of the typewriter and throw it into the air. There are just some people you think will be around forever....Very sad indeed
Where was the Macho King Randy Savage? (I Know for a wrestler to be in these they better have been big, but I know for a fact, Macho Man was immitated and impersonated in almost every sitcom since the 80s. COME ON!
Where is the amazing Tony Curtis, Gloria Stuart, Pete Postlethwaite and Susannah York???... don´t they deserve too be remembered and honored in the Memoriam?? :O
I think Andy Whitfield was the toughest loss he so young and just cut right down with Cancer, he fought but terrible that just as it went in remission it returned more aggressively and he died. Very sad
Wow, beautiful. And for a change there was no "Applause Death-O-Meter", so you could hear some stars getting tons of applause and others getting nothing. I always thought that was rather tacky.
i agree with balderdashman. Except, jack was the shit. I love jackass. How did ryan "leave" again? That is a shame that they forgot to add jeff conway. That was GREASE! Come on people. Best movie and songs EVER! Who agrees?
Andy Whitfield made Spartacus bearable until it improved later in that first season. Cancer is a fucking thief; I bet he had so many good roles left in him.
It breaks my heart everytime I see Andy Whitfield in this so very emotive tribute. Just wonderful presented by the Canadian Tenors.
I agree, Andy Whitfield was one of my favorite actors, I was heartbroken when I heard that he was no longer with us. I also wanted to thank you for posting who it was that sang this song, I have been looking for that for a long time, such wonderful voices.
It breaks my heart too. He was an amazing actor 😢
i bawled for Andy. and i tear up and rewatch his part every time i watch this video.
RIP Jill Clayburgh. I got really emotional when she appeared and was loudly aplauded. Miss you, girl.
Best version of Leonard Cohen's masterpiece.
I couldn't agree more
Youve obviously never heard the late great Jeff Buckley do this song
And we all lived happily ever after as a one big happy television 📺📺📺📺📺📺📺📺📺📺📺📺📺📺📺📺📺 family 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗.

One of The Television Family's Great Artist Has Been Accomplished From Achievement. RIP Stephen J. Cannell.
Hard to believe it’s been 10 years since Peter Falk left us. Columbo’s still the best TV detective, bar none.
RIP Sada, I still love watching "Family".
Elizabeth Taylor will always be missed
I knew I was going to cry. Can't help the fact I love and adore the actors and creators of my favorite shows. The moment they showed Leslie Nelson, I couldn't hold back my tears.
Love this performance. Unbelievable that I'm still listening to this in 2016. When it aired i rewound it until my dvr wouldn't let me anymore
Tori Kelly Performed This Song Last Month At This Year's Emmys During That Segment.
@@LightTower936 And it was also performed at the 44th annual daytime emmy awards back in 2016
@@marvinmoore2720 yes the same year.
Jill, Andy, Stephen wow I cannot believe so many great talents gone
I always loved the symbol of Stephen J. Cannell's shows, where he is typing and he rips out the page and throws it.
Leslie Nielsen :'( always in my heart ♥♡
I never even knew of Andy Whitfield but I saw how young he was so I had to look him up and now everytime I see his part...I bawl.
Leslie Nielsen was an amazing man and an amazing actor. It breaks my heart every time I remember he's not with us. RIP

Rip Blake edwards the main and true creator of the pink panther which is my childhood, he will forever be missed.
How could they ignore David Nelson? He was the last member of the Nelson brood from the Adventures of Ozzie and Harriett? BIG oversight.
Andy W. was such an up and coming actor, I was looking forward to seeing his career develop. Very sad to see him go. RIP
This is such a beautiful rendition of this song, it gives me goosebumps.
This is a tribute to my favorite grandparents Jill clayburgh and Elizabeth Taylor and my favorite uncle cliff robertson and my brother harlod Gould and my grandfather jack lalanne and my favorite cousins Peter falk Andy whitfield al masini and Stephen j cannell who I miss them with all my heart ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.

yay Andy Whitfield made it...he deserved it.
The Oscars can learn from this how to do an 'In Memoriam' correctly.
I have always wondered why the Oscars have never used this song for their 'In Memoriam' segment. It would be perfect.
I love Leslie Nielsen. One of the funniest men to ever walk this earth.
Andy Whitfield... :( Our champion of capua, slayer of theokoles and bringer of rain. We miss u so much.
They need to bring back respect to this segment. (Such as this one). Now, it is stylised and Loud throughout.
Pode anotar, é fato eu vou viver 114 anos, Chambisco 95, Pigmeu 88 fato médico
RIP LEONARD COHEN
Is Leonard Cohen Going To Be Honored During The In Memoriam At Next Year's Emmys?

One of the best series EVER made.

r.i.p Andy Whitfield
I am glad that they included John Dye and Elizabeth Taylor.
RIP Andy Whitfield. You were ripped from this world way too early!
@Lostplanet1996 I was in tears the moment they showed him on screen. It breaks my heart to see actors die at such a young age.
Pardon me while I giggle at a Canadian trying to sound witty when she things people sing sings, quite fitting that no one gave your comment a thumb up :D

We're all going to die famous or not
I'm have a degree in vocal performance and I thought the same thing once the harmonies began.
Where was the Macho King Randy Savage? (I Know for a wrestler to be in these they better have been big, but I know for a fact, Macho Man was immitated and impersonated in almost every sitcom since the 80s. COME ON!
Elisabeth Sladen should have been in this. Even though Doctor Who was a British show it did have a following in the US.
really awesome they included Dunn.
Where is the amazing Tony Curtis, Gloria Stuart, Pete Postlethwaite and Susannah York???... don´t they deserve too be remembered and honored in the Memoriam?? :O
It's a shame they included the guy from Jackass but foregone Jeff Conaway. WTF were they thinking?!?
I think Andy Whitfield was the toughest loss he so young and just cut right down with Cancer, he fought but terrible that just as it went in remission it returned more aggressively and he died. Very sad
Sad we are all going to die famous or not
