That's the issue with living a literal life of lies. It can get pretty daunting to juggle all your different lies and spin some BS in the blink of an eye that still makes sense with all your previous bullshit. When faced with the 2nd cellphone, not knowing the amount of evidence she had, he *thought* the best idea was to deny it existing, instead of coming up with a reason there and then for it. Bad move, one of his worst. What I love is how long into the series this keeps biting at his ass: the one time he doesn't think things through and goes out with a suboptimal lie, it *never* stops fucking him back.

I totally understand. Breaking Bad is one of the very few shows that I just couldn't stop watching. I would actually wake up after a few hours of sleep to watch *one more.* - just one more. I went to work exhausted for a few days, until I got caught up. lol
I consider this to be the real ending of S1 of Breaking Bad. With the light turning off at the end, it’s good symbolism. Plus, ten episodes, then another 10 episodes in all of S2.
that's a fucking lie sure they planned a few things ahead but this show absolutely wasn't COMPLETELY written before it was filmed and the op is right they had the intention to make s2e02 the finale of season 1
@Magic Minefreaker 1. That's literally the opposite of the truth, this show was notoriously good at suddenly adapting to new situations because they refused to overplan ahead 2. You're still 100% missing the point of the comment, it has nothing to do with what the writers planned. It's about pacing.
@Jarkson Walt has so many lies to keep track of that he simply cant keep them straight anymore. So he denies everything, to the point where he just digs himself deeper into a hole. One of his first lies, where he told Skyler that he bought pot from Jesse instead of blatantly denying knowing him was a great lie. It was very believable and simple, and was much better than saying he cooks meth. But then trying to keep that secret, plus all his other secrets about his meth cooking, Tuco, the second cell and all the times he leaves unexplained, he loses track of what Skyler knows and doesn't know, and loses track of his lies. Now all he can do is deny, and hope Skyler backs off. Well we all know how that turns out...
When Rick started with "I'm very white, so...", I got real nervous about how he would continue that statement. Whew!! lol "No one is more suspicious then they were before." Ummm, Skyler??? Great reaction & discussion, guys. 😉❤️

I could never do that. I only couldn't stop binging more than 3-4 episodes when I saw S5 E8, so I saw S5 E8-16.
