    I am not an engineer and this job is great
    But I expect that there is weakness in the yellow area at the bottom and it will not bear the weight and this region needs something to rest on and slide on.

    What's stopping the ball bearing from sliding off?

      Doesn't matter too much since this is not something that would work in the real world for many other additional reasons. . There are many much larger issues, like the fact that ball bearings can't support significant axial loads, the friction at the nut in the lowest position would be immense, the mechanism has almost zero stiffness out of plane, the joints are single-shear making them asymmetrical. Overall this illustrates the movement, but this would not work in the real world at all. There is a reason you've never seen a scissor mechanism in which the actuator extends way out to the side of the machine, too.

      @@brianhaygood183 yes. I believe there will be a lot of flexing under load and this won’t be rigid enough to hold let’s say a a 200lbs beam that needs to be lifted perfectly perpendicular to the floor
