These shows were just epic... I saw a few of them in Adelaide, Imissed their first gig here but caught TISM's second gig at LeRox for the Great Truckin' songs tour. There were about 20 people there. I literally leaned against the stage and drank a six pack of VB, I swear Humph was eyeing them off. He was about six feet from me the whole show.
Whether it be when the "Massed Pipes of TISM" or a recording played, and I was there the night this was filmed, to be in the mosh when this kicked off was a awe inspiring experience. I've been in mosh's for pretty much all of the giants of Oz Pub Rock and these fella's were by far the pinnacle.....
Pretty sure this was the gig where some knob climbed up on the PA stack stage right and was posing and threatening to dive into the crowd. TISM all stopped playing and held their arms out towards him as in 'Put up or Shut up". You could see the guy hesitate, but as they say, pride comes before a fall. As he launched, the sea before him parted. We could hear the thud from the balcony...
But that knob was more entertaining than TISM and that's why they stopped playing. And surely that thud was more musical than anything TISM have ever written. RHB never thought of that, he just jumps into the mosh pit like any other...I nearly wrote artist.
@Iwasonlyjokingdad That was one of the most memorable gigs I've been to ... Tumbleweed and Fireballs as support, no? ... nothing like being upfront at the stage at a TISM gig and coming home drenched in sweat with brushes across your chest from being crushed against the stage / barriers the whole gig ... and a big arse smile on your dial ... ahh they were the days ! :)
A vid thats made my day - for once glad to be a crusty old 48 y/o dad - *ah the Palace!!!* Good times and copious amounts of VB. " never again etc etc...
This reminds me of the unadultered warmth, joy & wonderment in my 7 year olds eyes, when he realised he could burn ants to death using nothing but a magnifying glass.
If this song does not make sense, let me break it down for you. Amway is an american company that sells health products for profit. The point of this song is to poke fun at both the horrors of health care for profit and the gentrification of America to the rest of the world. I find it brilliant.
My mate's cousin was desperate to sign me up into amway products. He was trying to get me to be a reseller. I'm not the smartest man on the planet, but I've got a good nose for bullshit.
Not sure what the song is about, as its just starting, but Amway is basically a legalized pyramid scheme, one of the oldest currently in existence actually, sort of wrote the book on doing them. The family that owns it, Betsy Devos is one, are billionaire right wing activists that oppose most government funded services from Healthcare to education.
@nonapejase Yeah I keep hoping one day I'll see myself moshing in one of these vids - used to go to the Old Greek, Atheneum, Monash Student Union gigs a bit...

All the bashing comments were correct. But that is the whole point of what they are saying. They are masquerading those whom they "sing" about. They feel malevolent, even more malevolent than the subject of their performance. A horror show is upon us and no one sees or feels it so busy are we at our keyboards.
Awesome gog - i remember they showed Nazi propaganda teels to atabic music and a belly dancer on stage before they came on? Then i got knocked out on the moshpot and once again on the way out when
Amway was an American health and beauty company that operates by pyramid selling. Amway is short for American Way. Hence, TISM are saying all these forms of death are the American Way.
That was epic. These guys are fearless.
There is no band like TISM. No one can compete with them, no one can dethrone them. They are untouchable. This is serious mum.

This might be one of the most beautiful things I've ever had the pleasure to witness.
Come Back Lad's .................

Not just Australia, perhaps even the world
And they did! 😃
That was quite frankly a work of art.

@@erichoberg3502 I think TISM would wholeheartedly agree with your critique.

March 25 2020 looking back they always struck the chords of truth and the immenent future of being too cool hip and rad. It's so Dr Norman Swan!
Now there's a fucking underrated comment

Amway was short for American Way. Based on the lyrics, I think it's more about American soldiers behaviour during overseas conflicts.

Ahhhh. Sweet chaos!
Greatest rockband in the world.
Damn I luved seeing this band live, especially when on acid.
Love this song. It reminds me of early Brian Eno :)
@takotheoktopus coathanger is an artful move handed down over generations outside various springvale RSLs.
The Collaborators (ex Jock Cheese Platter from TISM) are doing TISM songs in their set as of December 2021

CHKilroy and his taste for music :D
Amway, Amway, Amway!
Truly superb.
What date was this gig?
I have a "Hacksaw" sign from a gig at the Palace some time in the 90s.
My mate Leaky lost a shoe in the moshpit that night...
Brilliant!!
@gilliganis I have this on VHS - Incontinent in Ten Continents TISM Live 17, 18 May 1991
Remember when you could climb on the stage for a bit of a stage dive at a show!?
Remember when you could go and see a show?
@@thisisbob1001 I remember! I did it on Friday night for The Bennies!
Hehe yeah those were gold days.
Damian Cowell's Disco Machine does a TISM mashup as one of their songs
We know that Damien was Humphrey, don't we
Ah, yes...I was there, but my memory...she fails me
Thanks ChKilroy, now I like even shittier music.
