This is an outstanding video. 12 minutes and must have played for over an hour as I watched and rewatched minor details. Thanks. I would have been stumbling along without this guidance.
I flipped the chair over and watched everything work, guessed (correctly) how to do it. When I told my bride that I first needed to remove the staples from the fabric… “Are you sure??? Maybe there’s a TH-cam video?” Found this, got the green light. Thanks.
Lol, just got mine done. Took 2 tries. Key part is at 5:54. Forgot that and the recliner footrest only moved up 6 inches. Took everything apart again and now it's perfect, except for the staples. Dont have a staple gun. Would have been a headache if not for this video, or a huge hassle to try and get layzboy to fix it even tho I didn't purchase it from them. Thank you again
I stared and stared at mine for an hour , and realised the rod had to come out the side , why star head bolts ? just to halt the process another two hours I guess .congrats I'm going in for my second attempt today wish me luck !

How did you get the bolts to budge? I removed the nuts, but the bolts won't budge. I can't figure out if they are stuck in the rod or the little metal plate.
Thank you for this video. I know it will a great reference when I begin the repair. I received the new parts today and will do the repair tomorrow. La-z-boy has updated the drive toggle to a heavy steel replacement. Looks like it would never break. It’s a different size and shape as the original but the repair should be much the same as the video.
Coop's Homestead it went well. When the chair broke I didn’t se how I could fix it. But after watching your video several times, I decided to give it a try. Then when the parts came, the toggle was different and it replaced several of the parts, but everything fit and the chair works great. Thanks again.
Video was immensely helpful but we need better video of orientation of the triangle pieces with the drive toggle. Had to replace with the new metal piece and it came with additional bushings and different sizes and it did not align at first. took it apart and back then the drive toggle was 90 degrees off. took it back to apart and back together and it was upside down. A new video or explanation and pictures of the orientation of the new metal drive toggle would be great. I have 2 recliners so I was finally smart enough to turn the other one over and figure it out. Thanks again for doing the video
Good video. The only thing I would do differently is replace the toggle with the upgraded metal one. Not sure if that was available when this video was made.
Thanks for the video. I have the same part broke and have to replace it tomorrow. Lazyboy sent me a metal upgrade replacement. It called a clevis mount kit ( pn# 12.000659 ). I needed to know what parts to take off to get the new metal Clevis mount (replaces broke drive toggle) through the drive rod

HELP! ’m trying to repair an electric rocker recliner that someone else started on. Would it be possible to get close up, well lit photos of how everything should look once it’s back together? The rod was taken completely out so I don’t know where all the spacers go, the position of the screw holes once the rod is inserted (off to the side or on the bottom).
@@rstjohnw I would really appreciate that. The problem is that I’m trying to pick up where someone else left off. He removed the entire rod instead of just pulling it out far enough to replace the toggle connector and clevis. Now I don’t know how to lineup the rod, spacers, connector & clevis...including all of the pins. There’s also bracket type of thing with springs that goes on either side of the hinges and I can’t be tell how they are supposed to be placed. Any pictures you can send will be most helpful. Thank you!
I love the video, but I cannot get the two bolts off. I don't have a torch. I tried heating them with a butane lighter. I bought a nice T30 screwdriver. It doesn't work. My drill seems to not have enough torque. I'm stuck.
Ron White I have had the same problem with my power drill. I have been able to get these bolts to move with a ratchet when the drill would not do the job.
I received the metal replacement part FREE from La-Z-Boy. The part was part of a lifetime warranty, but there is a labor cost if the company makes the repair.
This part also broke on me and ended up replacing it with the new “heavy U shape piece” . My chair has never worked so quiet as it does now without the cheap plastic parts. The down side is to get this part you have to go to E Bay and find the part. The part is a rip off as it will cost you about,$75.00 for this U shaped part. Bite the bullet, the chair will, never work as well and so much quieter and smoother.
I called Laz-boy with the product / chair # and they sent out the replacement parts for free. There is a 13.00 - 14.00 shipping handing change. Just a note on this, my mom and dad were the original purchaser of the chair.
For parts contact the Comfort Care Department at 855-802-6636. There is now a metal upgrade part to fix this problem: # 11.024897 Install is a bit different but still not that difficult. Note that the plastic Drive Toggle and Motor Clevis Mount are now one part. The diagram of the new part that they sent me is a mirror image.
