  • Teridax was the Makuta of Metru Nui, and entrusted with the well-being of the city. Why then, does it seem he had no involvement in the Toa-Dark Hunter War in Metru Nui? Let's explore what he may have been doing, and what his motivations may have been during this time.

    Makuta's plans are layered so deeply, we could probably spend the rest of our lifetime delving through them all and theorizing about his involvement in anything that happened in the Matoran universe. And I'm 100% here for it.

    I don't think Teridax instigated things but rather saw the writing on the wall and allowed events to unfold.

    I think telepathically influencing the Dark Hunters makes sense, especially since it worked for Teridax in other situations throughout the story. What better way to snap a populace out of their complacency than with something as violent and shocking as a war?

    • @heroranuva8295
      @heroranuva8295  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah, he's already done this before. Though, I don't know if it was so much complacency as much as they weren't afraid. He actually kinda made them more complacent, because they came to rely on Turaga Dume and the Toa instead of thinking for themselves

    I'd say something like as you say Teridax being involved with everything is overkill, but as you put it... it really makes too much sense. Manufacturing a crisis to gain more power behind the scenes is too convenient.

    I believe that both the Brotherhood and Order allow the Dark Hunters to exist for their own benefit. If you think about it, the Dark Hunters don't contribute to Matoran society and often terrorizes them, something both organizations should be against. We already know the Brotherhood had all sorts of backdoor dealings with the Dark Hunters for a time. The Order, despite having altruistic goals, have a "by any means necessary" approach to things and wouldn't be above doing some shady things. They have access to Ancient, which gives them some influence over how the hunters operate. They probably also see it as a good idea to have these powerful and unhinged beings in one place and under the control of The Shadowed One, instead of scattered about and causing trouble on their own. Both sides probably use the Dark Hunters as proxies for their own goals and the benefit of that outweighs the problems they occasionally cause.

    • @heroranuva8295
      @heroranuva8295  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Mm, that's interesting. And honestly, I think they Order didn't try to take out the Hunters because they might not have been able to without revealing themselves, and the Dark Hunters weren't worth that because they weren't that huge a threat. Or at least the Toa were able to keep them in check well enough, and the Order tended to let the Toa handle the big threats that could be handled publicly.

      @nocturn333 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@heroranuva8295 The Order should've been able to assassinate the Dark Hunter's leadership at the very least. Remember these guys have dealt with some pretty high profile targets like Kojol and the Barraki, right in front of Teridax I might add. I do agree the Order probably saw eliminating the Dark Hunters as more effort than its worth, especially the fallout from doing such a thing. However I wouldn't put it past them to use the Dark Hunters for their own purposes too.

    • @heroranuva8295
      @heroranuva8295  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nocturn333 well to be fair, those should be put in context. They killed Kojol while he was alone and off of Destral. And they never beat the Barraki, Teridax’s army did that, the Order collected them after they were already beat, teleporting away before Teridax could react. Taking down the Dark Hunter leadership if they were on their island of Odina would be extremely difficult, even for the Order. I think they’d succeed, but not without a fight that could very easily expose them. I do agree that the Order did also try to use the Hunters as best they can, and of course had Ancient as an inside man, but I also don’t think the Hunters were a threat they could take out at any time on a whim. They couldn’t take out the Hunters without more cost than they could spare, so they made the best of them, and used them as a resource to fight bigger threats like the Brotherhood.

    There could be many explainations for the Brotherhood of Makuta neutral position in the conflict, and since the complex plans and extremely high intelligence of Makuta Teridax, i do believe that this was perhaps a desire of Teridax all along that this war happen.
    Perhaps maybe to both factions (Toa/Dark Hunters), get weaken by the war, to later the Brotherwood of Makuta strike later, because despite the faction that win the war, its effects would take time to recover. This is a very good theory that i remenber during my writing of this message.

    If there's two factions that could potentially oppose your plan in the future, and those two factions are currently busy fighting (and killing) each other, then it would make sense to put off direct involvement for as long as possible.

    It's out of the topic but when you said "300 Toa army" and that I thought again about your video about the true power of a Toa...
    How did the city avoided total destruction? An army of 300 Toa is much more powerful than our atomic bombs! XD

      You can see why the Dark Hunters surrendered XD Honestly it really shows the immense control that Toa have that they don't cause massive more amounts of destruction. Their code was VERY important. If you want an even scarier look at how insanely powerful Toa are, I highly recommend this video from another youtuber, @theknowledgetower208 they have a video using real world science to describe how powerful a Nova Blast is. Let's just say if 300 Toa went Nova...well that wouldn't end well for anyone on the planet. th-cam.com/video/hjAz_h2sPpo/w-d-xo.html

    Makuta Teridax is probably my favourite villain in all of media, much of which is due to his presence in the films and how he was elaborated on in the novels. Truly a case of a greater being with seriously dangerous mental issues.
    Also is it strange that I prefer his mask in the films as opposed to the mask in his toy set?

    Both Factions Toa and Dark Hunters are very strong and powerful, and for Makuta Teridax would get full control of the city of Metru Nui, the idea was perhaps to make this conflict to happen, to weaken both factions with this war and before the winning faction could recover from it, Makuta would intervened and eliminate both sides.
    In Bionicle 2 Legends of Metru Nui, Teridax/disguised Turaga Dume said to Nidhiki and Krekka that the new Toa must not intervene with the plan, that plan was to put the Great Spirit Mata Nui into a deep sleep and later claimed as the "God" of the Matoran Universe, and that event leed to the great cataclysm. Of curse noone of those plans was revealed to Nidhiki and Krekka. Makuta Teridax manipulated them all this time.
    Teridax all along wanted to eliminate both sides, and took over the Matoran Universe.
    This is only my theory that i want to share with you and to the Bionicle community.

    • @heroranuva8295
      @heroranuva8295  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@heroranuva8295 Both theories might be true simultaneously. Get your two biggest rivaling factions to weaken/destroy each other, and use the ensuing chaos to establish power - just like Palpatine did.

      Exactly.
      Toa Nidhiki been corrupted and join the Dark Hunters and has mutated into a monstrous life form by Roodaka.
      Toa Lhikan was the last Toa Mangai and former leader of this Toa team to stand against evil/Makuta/Dark Hunters in Metru Nui, and the rest of the story can be follow in the Movie Bionicle 2 Legends of Metru Nui.
      Really love the second movie of the Trilogy.
      Toa Lhikan is one of the best Toa in the entire Matoran Universe, and very
      respected and admired by future Toa and Matoran for everything Toa Lhikan made, even when has only a Turaga, giving his life to save Vakama from death during the battle with Teridax.
      One of the best characters ever existed.
      And before been captured by Nidhiki and Krekka, Toa Lhikan gives the Toa Stones just in time, in order to secure the salvation of the Great Spirit and the city`s future as well. And with the stone`s given to each Matoran chosen from each Metru, a new team of Toa was born: The Toa Metru.
      But you already know everything that i said, i only wanted to share my thoughts.

    Weren't the Dark Hunters and Brotherhood of Makuta allies before Time Trap?

    • @heroranuva8295

      They were frequent business partners. The Brotherhood often hired Hunters for extra security or for jobs they didn’t want traced back to them. Though there were instances of tensions between them even before this, such as when the Brotherhood hired Hunters to help guard the Mask of Light, but they failed to stop the Toa Hagah from stealing it. The Brotherhood wanted the Hunters who failed executed, but the Shadowed One refused.
