That's a manager, right there! With the talent pool the U.S. has and her clear skill at 'man-managing' and her tactical knowledge/prowess, it will be a very refreshing change from our last manager.
The Spanish have a pattern at the moment and it doesn't seem about individual players but fitting that pattern. They play as a total collective. I was disappointed in both England and France yesterday evening (as an England fan), neither seemed fully tuned in, passes going astray, poor first touch, etc. They're currently ranked two and three in the world and I see no reason why USA shouldn't regain number two spot some time soon. The standards Spain are playing to are high but with the pool of players USA have to draw on there's no reason they shouldn't rise to meet the challenge. Shifting Spain from number one is a great target for them and good for the women's game.
@@15nickjfan Any team is beatable but generally they look a very organised group of players. The football they play is very formulaic but they all stick to the plan. Yes, it was only a friendly and yes it was only against South Korea but yesterday the USA showed why they shouldn't be written off. Rose Lavelle is so good to watch. Her speed, passing and movement off the ball are a joy to watch. With her and Swanson fit I'd back USA against anyone.
*Of course, it stands to reason that changes are not going to occur in one week. The issue is that the team cannot practice together for a long period of time just during FIFA international breaks. It does not help that the local league season is quite long. I think this is one of the problems that the national team coaches have had staring with the Vlatko period: Team has the opportunity to practice together for a short period of time.*
With the rise of the women's game it's a problem most of the top nations have. England and France were both well below par yesterday evening (I thought). The European domestic leagues and Champions league just ended and they're called together for Euro international qualifying games ) one yesterday another Tuesday) having just got together as a group. Yes, they're athletes but football (soccer) is a team sport and every game is a different tactical challenge. They must be mentally and physically tired too.
Do you still let men play who want to be known as women. Or do you have a let's pretend team but still have men bits. Good luck to the manager at least they took their backroom staff with her.
Most excited to see her transformation. I actually think she’s already showing improvement with club thanks to direction from the national team. You can tell she’s been working on what they’ve asked her to. Her passing and improvement on the wing has been noticeable.
I’m sure she’s more than qualified but I would find it odd to play for a coach not from the country you’re playing for… maybe it’s just me.. hope they do well
@@mosijahi3096 Can’t be! What I’m saying isn’t illogical by any means! This isn’t club play, it’s for your country,,,,,,,, and ur coach isn’t from that same country,,,,,,not a crazy thought.. It's not an uncommon thing at all. I don't think any of the former coaches have been American, at least not recent. Except maybe Jill Ellis who I think has dual citizenship. England's head coach is Dutch, Australia's is Swedish, Canada's is British, the list goes on. They hire the most qualified person regardless and it doesn't bother anyone.
@@judere1066 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️I’m not saying it’s uncommon!! I’m saying the CONCEPT is wild! Like, you don’t think she would or will feel weird going up against her home country of England if they were to meet in the finals?! You don’t think that’s not odd? This isn’t her coaching against Chelsea. Nevermind, this is very easy to understand. English but coaching the US national team…… Common, sure! Weird? Yup!!
the winningest coach in USWNT history is a british woman 😅 two of those stars on our crest were won under the management of a brit so i'm not so sure how "sad" that is!
Most national teams aren't coached by people from that country. They even jump from country to country. Look at Sarina Weigman, getting the Netherlands to the final one World Cup than getting England to the final the next.

This is one cool lady. Can’t wait to see her lead this team!
Thank you for posting this!
My pleasure!
Wow, she is simply world class. Much respect.
I'm a big fan of Emma's. Stoked for her leading USWNT! She's phenomenal, a real pro.
Hope their playing style will be as ruthless as the coach.
I’m a Chelsea fan and let me say USWNT got the best in the business. I won’t forgive ya’all for taking her away from us but good luck gaffer

I’m sure she would have done better at Chelsea Men than any of the coaches since Tuchel
She's impessive. Why can't USMT make good decisions in this area?
I would LOVE to have a beer with Emma.
Sophia smith has a real coach. Her club coaches she’s had were questionable on tactics or had no experience well plus Vlatko I guess
