I remember playing this in concert band my senior year of high school some 30+ years ago. I played the trumpet part and the euphonium in another performance. Also that same year, I got to perform this with the West Virginia University Honors Band playing trumpet!!!
I performed percussion for the premiere of this song about 30 years ago with James Swearingen conducting while I was a member of the Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble (MYWE). Somewhere in my basement I have a copy of the performance on vinyl.
