Tariq would call his father Dad or Pops then he started calling him Ghost to his face out of disrespect and anger and by season 6 Tariq felt more threatened by his father than protected by him... all of his father's physical actions and threats made his son fear his father would kill him though Ghost would NEVER kill his own son Tariq feared he would because he saw him more as Ghost = a killa than he saw him as his Dad = a PROTECTIVE loving father Tariq felt he was in danger if he did not follow his father's plan too confess / turn himself in which he felt after he was almost beat by his father and told NOT! to force his hand which was what Breeze DID! which GOT HIM killed by Ghost which was WHY Tasha planned to pop Ghost to stop him from physically hurting Tariq and turning him in but Tariq did it himself to protect his mother from doing it and getting HURT killed or caught... Tariq towards the end of Power saw his father as a threat and a MONSTER! popped him to protect his mother from popping him ultimately for himself and his mother to not go to jail.
To tell you how bad Tariq fell, he was stealing from his “uncle” Tommy, who never did any harm to Tariq and was always there for him. Tariq also tried to get Tommy killed by snitching to that Italian dude and mfs will have the mind to defend Tariq’s actions. Tariq was just an emo teen that thought he had everything figured out. Tariq had no reasons to be selling drugs, he was just doing that to rebel against his father and now that he’s seen what the drug game is really like, he wants out. It’s pathetic. Tariq let Tommy in the penthouse because he owed his uncle because he felt bad stealing from him and also because Tommy said he wasn't going to hurt his father and Tariq didn't get Raina killed his actions (indirectly) played a part in her murder yes but not everything is his fault he didn't tell Raina to follow him he didn't know she followed him and also if Raina didn't threaten Ray Ray her father was gonna kill him he wouldn't of killed her he shot her because he was scared of her father he knew she would tell on his sick ass harassing her twin brother though he was a sick punk that's why he silenced her Raina was looking out for her twin brother and tried to scare Ray Ray from him but it backfired because Ray Ray was desperately trying not to be found out by Ghost which was why he set up Tariq because he thought he told his father about his sick ass... but Tariq did not tell his father and asked Raina not to tell their parents because he would've been exposed for setting up robberies then his father would've snapped on him to finding out his son was doing criminal activities which was why Tariq wanted to leave the choate so he could get away from Ray Ray and so his parents (SPECIFICALLY his FATHER) would never EVER! find out what crimes he had been doing when he was in JAIL and when he got out but Raina got killed and all his criminal acts were exposed anyways and he almost got beat up by his father which he tried to avoid which was why he didn't want him to know he was in trouble because he already knew his father would lose it in his anger on him which he did but was stopped by Tasha that was a very sad scene also Ghost beating Tariq wouldn't of done anything but make all the situationss! even more worse and why?! becausee physically punishing / hurting yo teens when they make mistakes or when they anger you is never the answer... it only damages kids / teens and damages the relationship between a parent and child like we saw it did with Ghost and Tariq.

Ghost should've been honest and then he could've reached his son... like that was all Tariq wanted from his father while wanting to feel accepted cared about and loved by him he also wanted his father to be honest with him all the lies were exposed so it was no reason to lie or deny it The Truth was like the only thing that could've saved Ghost's & Tariq's strained relationship while all of the lies years of physical actions threats & then jail ended it! if Ghost would've just sat his son down and communicated with him instead of always getting physical with him Ghost could've made Tariq understand things on a reasonable level and who knows maybe he wouldn't of gotten popped.
