Don’t lose the rocker or your trigger will be flapping about in the wind like nana’s foot! 😂😂😂 Seriously thank you for showing how to clean it properly. Great technical tutorial. Need to know how to look after the tools that help us make the cakes. I will be having a look at mine tomorrow as I need to use it for my cake this week. I will be happy it’s been cleaned thoroughly after I use it. 💕💕
HAHAHHA Yes, I bought a second gun so this one is now my back up should I ever bend the needle again or the nozzle should split, just shows how much you rely on it once it's gone! lol
I dont have one yet but I found this information very useful !!! Thanks, as usual !!!
Thank you! Hope you manage to play with one soon, they are great fun! x
Well I never knew I could take the tip off 🤯
Great tutorial as always!
haha yes! Just don't do it over the sink, you hear a 'clink...clink' and its gone....LOL
Yep I’m afraid of my airbrush...I’ve used it once and was going great until it started to splatter now I’m too afraid to use it in case I ruin the cake. Now I’ve got a reference for cleaning I will practice on a cardboard box. Thanks Tracey 😘💐
The dreaded splatter! You've either used paint that's too thick, your nozzle is clogged our your airflow isn't quite right. There should be no splattering unless its intentional! lol Give it a good clean, try some water based paints and see how you go :D x
Little Cherry Cake thank you so much Tracey 🥰
That was really helpful , as now I can watch your video as I clean my airbrush. Thankyou Tracey. Xx. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗. Hope your call keeping well. 🤗🤗🍒🍒🍒
Aww thanks Paula!
It absolutely makes it less daunting! Helps very much in trying to make the decision of whether to get one or not! 😆
oh yes, You'll never look back once you have one! I use mine all the time now, it comes in really handy x
Thank you so much!!!! I was cleaning mine this weekend after a cake order and i was litteraly thinking : « i need to ask you how to clean it the right way » So great 😄😄😄
hahaha awww that's great! Came at the right time :D x
Very detailed tutorial! Thanks for sharing Tracey! 😃
Thanks you Suzanne!
Great thanks for showing us how to do the job properly, I've not dont cleaned mine yet, just throw cleaning fluid through it.
ha ha yes! I mostly just rinse mine out too and it's good enough for the job 9/10. Sometimes it gets deep in that nozzle which is when it causes problems - or in my case when it splits LOL
Awesome tutorial
Thank you!
Thank you so much for the tutorial. It has worked for me.
Thanks Tracey! I sooo needed this tutorial!😄🍒❤
Thanks Alicia!
Great tutorial, Tracey.
Thanks!
Thank you so much!!! Mine has just started spitting. I'm going to give it a clean.....now I roughly have an idea where to start x
Ohhh yes, hopefully a nice clean will sort it for you!
I love my airbrush from the 1st time I used it. Gotta be honest though I've not took it apart. I think I will give it ago now. Thanks Tracey, hope your all well xx
Awww thats nice to hear you love it!! So many people are scared to use it! xx
Thank you for the useful tip great video ☺️
Thanks!
The ‘rocker’ is the reason I don’t do this! So much anxiety!!! I might have to give it a go on my spare airbrush now that I can follow along with you! Thank you 😊
hahaha its such a fiddly little piece isn't it!
Thank you for that Tracey. I bent my needle the first and last time I cleaned my airbrush. The little rocker was the cause of the issue and my frustration as I forgot which way round it went in. I have an old airbrush which I think I will practice on till I get the hang of it. It was metallic paint that caused the issue and I will never use it through my airbrush again. 'trigger will be flapping about in the wind like nana’s foot'. Did Kai right the script for this tutorial lol.
Yes its the only piece that doesn't just slot into place nicely! Its just loose and at will! lol Gosh yes, metallics and pearls - powder based and a right pain for clogging! Have fun playing with your spare one taking it apart! :D
Thanks for this tutorial. It will make more sense to me when I get one. My mum offered to get me one last year for my birthday and I said I wasn’t ready. How daft was that. Hopefully the offer still stands this year 😂😂🍒❤️ xxx
hahaha fingers crossed!!!
You are an angel!
Excellent tips!
Thank you!
Thank you so much for doing this video. I purchased a Mondo airbrush and it didn't come with ver good instructions and didn't explain what the spanner was for or how to undo anything. Thank you again 😊
So glad you found it useful x
Thank you so much 🙏
Thanks for watching!
Thank you Tracey, very useful tutorial. I never knew you had different size needles...🤦♀️ I have a really expensive air brush that my partner bought for me a while ago. However the compressor decided to die on me. So for now I’m using my cheap Cassie Brown air brush, until I can get my compressor repaired. What compressor do you use? ...x
Thanks!! It's an old elephant one (but you might still be able to find some on ebay!) have a look at the ones called KKmoon, cheap...but should get the job done! Otherwise Iwata are good quality and robust :D x
ur soo funny 😁awsm tutorial👍👌🏻☺️
Thank you!
Nope ,Sorry Tracey, still too scared to use my airbrush!!! Have used it twice and just couldn’t get to grips with the flow and angle/distance of gun from cake. Would love to achieve some fab (quick) shading but always revert back to petal dust and brush!!!
Fab break down of how take apart and clean tho!!
Til next time #cherrybrigade 🍒
ha ha get a sheet of A4 paper out and have a play on that, getting used to the flow, and how the effects work closer vs far away. You dont always have to use a real cake to play on :D x
If not being used for food could we use alcohol to clean it out? Thank you!
Mine is well overdue a clean so this is really helpful - thanks Tracey! Can I ask which compressor you use? X
Thanks Julie!! yes I have one called an 'elephant' you might still be able to pick them up on ebay!! But the new airbrush I bought is called KKmoon, and they have compressors too :D x
I did all this but now my airbush is spitting and dripping what can I do please
As a recent convert from supermarket sugarpaste to Couture I'm looking to keep costs down and was looking to airbrush when a deep colour such as black red or navy is needed. Just wondering how much colour is needed for say an 8 inch cake? Does it work out cheaper?
Hi! Its less about what costs less really and more about your sanity! haha I'm sure once you made the switch from supermarket to couture you found a neater finish and easier to use? Same applies to your coloured pastes really, the pre-coloured pastes can be super sticky and a bit of a nightmare to cover with, and the airbrushing makes it easier. Whatever costs you incur will need to be passed on to the customer, and whichever method you find the less stressful can only be a good thing! x
Fab xx
Thanks :D x
Thank you for this. I did this and now my gun won't spray air or color. What can I do?
You may have pushed your needle too far in and tightened it. For air/colour to come out the needle needs to be pulled out via the trigger button. If you've pushed it in too far it might have gotten jammed
what do you call the tool she use ?
