This has become my favorite song from Jinjer. In a world where women have to really fight twice or more just to fucking exist and be respected as a human being, this song comes up like an anthem, a tribute to any and every woman is this world. Oh, and their musicianship? FLAWLESS. As always.
björk once said in an interview that women always have to say things five times until taken serious. work five times harder to be recognized. very true statement
@@neilpatrickhairless a living legend. unfortunately she is very distant to her fans. you meet her and ask for a foto? forget it. i have "met" her a couple of times in reykjavík (showered with her at the restrooms of the local public pool) and our jackets got stuck together during an iceland airwaves concert (sóley-concert at the national museum). i have seen her concerts a couple of times live, iceland and abroad. she is phenomenal!
Hello from New England land This song has def grown on me The second half of the song goes hard almost thrashy with the odd time feels and syncopation really elevates this tune And as always Eugene's bass playing is Cliff Burton level perfection Tattiana's lyrics have really come into their own I'm a dad to a 27 yr old daughter so I totally dig where you're coming from Keep being a great dad my man🤘✌️😎🧐
Thank you, Tommy. As a father of two girls and big Jinjer fan, I had to ask for this. The symbolism is key in this video, unfortunately many get it wrong. Tatiana is portraying four powerful historical women: Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, Marie Curie, and Frida Kahlo. All women that had to fight their battles to gain the same level of acceptance a man would get. And women who represent different traits of personality: power, courage, curiosity and creativity. We are approaching the second quarter of the 21th century, and still, even in the western civilized world, we are far from being treated equally when it comes to gender. I think Tatiana is a hero for speaking up and showing us how she had to fight and to change to be taken for what she is: an incredible artist and a wonderful human being. I hope she will inspire more young women to endure and to remain committed to their convictions. This might be my new favorite song from Jinjer. ❤
Well I don't really think Tatiana's speaking up about her own gender fights in this song. I mean yeah, of course she had to endure struggles, she had to fight and to work very hard and so on. But it has nothing to do with gender. She was asked about it and answered many times. The summary is - no, it's not true statement that to be a woman in metal is more difficult than to be a man in metal. Yeah, it has some specific disadvantages but also it has some specific advantages. And, overall, why you guys so concerned about musician's gender?
@@glebivanov6323 I don’t think either it’s about gender roles in metal. That is not what I was talking about. And although she referenced it directly in the lyrics at multiple times, gender fights are not the only central theme of the song. I agree. But I didn’t say it was. It’s what the song and the video made me thinking about and the reason why this song is important to me.
I have always enjoyed Jinjer and their music, but I have to say that a lot of 6 are extremely similar. There is nothing wrong with that because it's always a good sound, but I can not deny that many of the songs I have heard from them have been very similar. The vocals, as always, were good, and the drums were definitely a stand out here.i enjoyed it.
For me they are similar in their sound, which is very recognizable. It’s one of those bands that have a trademark sound , which is a good thing. But their albums are quite diverse in songwriting. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
@@DanTheSqueegeeMan we don't know much about the upcoming album. It could be quite similar to the previous. Someone's Daughter easily could be a part of Wallflowers and wouldn't be a black sheep there. But what we know is that Jinjer don't release similar albums usually. Not a single case yet.

@@DanTheSqueegeeMan I've always appreciated how she has always been vulnerable. These songs have come with a price.
This song is about women not being taken seriously until they're provoked into becoming someone they really aren't
