- Today we have a really special episode for you! We love it when we get the opportunity to help someone catch their first steelhead and that's exactly what happens in todays episode. Not only does he get his first steelhead, on day 2 he catches his biggest steelhead! We have our new friend Samong Yang a fellow Washington youtuber who we invited down to come fish with us and hopefully catch his first. It was actually some pretty tough days of steelhead fishing, the weather was amazing but the steelhead fishing was a grind! The plan finally comes together and we capture it all on film. Bro you are by one of the best steelhead fisheries in the world... the Clearwater river. I highly recommend a trip down their next season! As a WSU student that's the place to go for good steelhead anywhere around here (eastern WA). Loved your sturgeon vid below lower granite! I bass fish there all the time!

Way to go, Samong Yang! From the bobber down, to the lost fish, to the fish in the net, via the heart of the log jam! "A couple of good friends and a big rubber thing..." The Rag is old school, no? like, '90's innovation? That day 2 hen (first fish) was really feisty for a spawned out fish--mine have been very subdued. :( One fish will totally turn the day around, I've certainly experienced that, especially this year. "Granny-style" fish fighting--Congratulations on the Mega Buck, Samong! Grind on, y'all.
My step dad who has passed away used to be an orvis endorsed fly fishing guide and we would float the cowlitz on a lavro drift boat and fly fish steelhead with home made flies, it was amazing

Thank you guys for always displaying how to properly handle these fish. I cringe when I see pictures or videos of people yanking them up on shore or bringing them into their boat for a pic... if you don't wanna get in the water to land them then don't fish for em. I'm strictly referring to wild steelhead not hatchies

The river they were on doesn’t have a hatchery so it’s rare to find a keeper there though it does happen. They filmed an episode last year there with NW Fishing Secrets and got a keeper
