I am arab, palestinian to be exact. But was born in Belgium. Maha is the first youtuber that ever taught me how to properly talk to my family since at home i got used to speaking mixed languages and never fully arab. She has a lovely personality and reminds me of my family ❤️❤️ ana bahebik kteer ya Maha w Inchallah you are very happy in your life hahahaha keep making videos!
She is a GREAT teacher. I am a Belgian, living in that country and very interested in Arab language and culture. Tried lessons at 'Encora' in Antwerp. Was useless and worthless...
@ You do realize that there are religious fanatics speaking other languages besides Arabic, right? Languages such as English (Evangelical Christians in America) or Hindi (fundamentaliat Hindus in India)
Maha, I have a suggestion for a video topic: Basic phrases for healthcare professionals (when interacting with patients who only/primarily speak Arabic). Eg: How are you feeling today? Are you in pain? Where is your pain? I’m going to assess you now. I’m going to listen to your heart. I’m going to listen to your lungs. Deep breath. Another deep breath. You can stop taking deep breathes now. Tell me if you feel any discomfort during your treatment. I’m going to use this app on my phone to communicate with you..... etc. Thank you! 😊
Hi Maha! Thanks (shukran!) for this lessons. We use the expression "Enta Btu'mur!" in Spanish too: " a sus ordenes" meaning, I'm here to serve you or " a su servicio", it's almost the same expression. Please, continue to smile and teach! You make me glad.
Thank you for your helpful videos, it helps me brush up on my Arabic as I am a Syrian but born and raised in the US. Finally, when my family and friends use these on me I actually know what they mean. Now I will be confidant to use them myself !
Maha, the way you make it lively in explanation is awesome. Your smile, calm laughter, the joy and everything. It's very captivating.. Making someone to listen and follow you more. I love you.
Shukran Maha ❤️ because of your videos i got the confidence to start using arabic words slowly, since I'm working in UAE 🇦🇪, in Medical sector, most of my patients are from Egypt 🇪🇬, Morocco 🇲🇦, Emiratis, Lebanon 🇱🇧... And list goes on. I love Arabic language. Thank you so much 😇
I am learning a lot through your lessons. I speak English and Spanish, but I have always wanted to learn Arabic. It really pushed me into it recently, because I recently got a job where there are four Arabic women working with me. I love it. They can correct me if needed. 🙂 Thank you. I am wondering if you have a lesson in numbers or the alphabet...
Maha reminds me of anil mahato teaching Hindi. Both of them radiate so much energy. Very enlightening lesson. Will make an effort to learn this beautiful language.
Most used expressions are dropped like "دا واجبنا"، "أو هادا واجبي" literally means "It is my duty" or "It is our duty", also the famous Egyptian expression "تحت أمرك" literally "at your disposal" also some of the expressions can vary in usage considering how closely related the other person to yourself a dear neighbour, a blood relative, a lifetime friend or a casual acquaintance, ways in conversation are mostly full of prayers including "يديك العافية" أو "يعطيك العافية" or "الله يخليك" or "تسلم" they are more common in everyday speech than those from "طبعا" onward...
Shukran Maha from Mexico. You taught me with my journey to Israel to speak to people. Its hard to understand people do not know Yeshua was Palestinian. You deserve your peace.
It seems like Ms. Yokaub is "el-Alim" (or "the great one") in her Arabic language teaching. I like the way she goes into a bit of colloquial Arabic - the Arabic that is never thrown into formal Arabic language classes. I took some Spanish and I know that language comes with a bit of Arabic roots.
Hi Maha! I absolutely love your videos! I’ve been watching them for 4 years now, I started to when my eldest was born in the hope to teach him! I would love a few video on commands to say to a child. For example eat your food, play nicely, time to tidy away etc Xx
Maha you're explaining in commendable manners. I'm really learning a lot. These are opening sentences gives very good impression while talking to Arab fellows. You're doing good job.
"تعال كل يوم" هههه "come everyday" that'd be funny if somebody takes it literally I really love the video!! even though arabic is my first language I rarely ever use other than "عفوا"
Shukran Maha for this beatiful lesson. Very detailed and very well expalined. With the energy, positivity and fantastic way of laughing that only a Shami lady can perfotm.

Don't mention it :) 7) Always/Anytime! 8) Don't worry about it/it's nothing/no problem 9) same ^ nothing to thank me for 10) No, thank you! 11) Just doing God's work 12) Glad to/happy to help! / my pleasure! 13) At your service hope this helps :)

Unrelated but is it true that morrocan arabic pretty much ignores short vowels and pronounces them as schwa (like the A in "Probably" or the E in "The") and that it only really pronounces the long vowels?
Thank you Maha, I'm familiar with most of the expressions you presented in this lesson but learning it from you gave me the confidence to utilize them. Looking forward to more of this kinds of lessons

Ditto on that. I really need to bone up on general, first responder medical phrases!
Good idea
That would be great!
In Egypt we always use “elafw” and “afwan” the others are not common in Egypt, so it really differs depending on the accent.
Yea, I always hear people here saying El’afw. It’s even more common than Afwan
Or tekram
shinigami
I’ve never heard that one but I wouldn’t be surprised
maa sha’a Allah
Elafw :). I have a new Egyptian lady for who I'm trying to learn a few Arabic words for ❤️

Maha Arabic is a very beautiful language.
We do use "Shukran Ilak" sometimes in American English. People say, "Thank you!"---and a person responds, "No, thank you!" or "Thanks to you too!"
